We’re coming off a powerful Aries New Moon solar eclipse, one that officially brought us into a new chapter of time. With Mars in Cancer and a square to Pluto, we may be feeling a surge of emotions, both primal and instinctual. Life may start to move fast.
Lost in the hubbub of the solar eclipse is the Sun’s arrival in Taurus. Yes, it’s officially Taurus Season, a season for us to find solid ground, to get back to the things that give us pleasure, and to gather the resources we need to secure our material lives.
The Sun’s arrival in Taurus also means that we’re going to start to revisit the energies of Uranus in Taurus, a planet that has been slowly making its way through the sign since May 2018, March 2019. Over the course of seven years, the Taurus part of our astrology has to be completely reinvented. Here we are, past the half way mark. Do we see a change? (Read Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign for a refresh.)
Mercury is also retrograde as of yesterday, too. You know the drill. Despite a prevailing cultural narrative that life needs to grind to a halt during Mercury Retrograde, we need to understand that a retrograde is a yin phase. The energy pulls back. We need to reflect and analyze before making a choice. Is something the right choice? And with Mercury in Taurus, starting its retrograde at 15 degrees, we need to reassess the value of our choices.
Mercury turns direct on May 14 at 5 Taurus.
If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for April 22-24, 2023.
