With the Moon in Aries, we’re on the cusp of a new beginning. We may be feeling a build up of energy or tension. But we’re also in the dark of the moon. We have to honor that we are in a sacred space of endings. Time to reflect and make space for the new.
Yes, endings can be sacred. We can use the balsamic moon, which is the phase of the moon just before a new moon, also called the dark of the moon, to create ritual or to make time to honor our transition into a new phase. While a new moon is a once-a-month experience to reset and turn our attention to a new zodiac sign and archetype, this week’s new moon is a solar eclipse, something that occurs once every six months.
Think back to October 25, 2022. That was the date of the Scorpio New Moon solar eclipse at 2 degrees. That eclipse opened up a six month chapter, one lived through Scorpio’s energies of decay and endings, death and rebirth, trust and intimacy, assets and finance.
I know decay, death, and rebirth are strong words and you may have had a reaction to reading them, but Scorpio reminds us that death is a part of life. And we may have seen major endings, transitions, and rebirths over the last six months. We may have to navigate major themes around power and control, too.
