Welcome to the Taurus Full Moon, part of a pair of eclipses that began with a Scorpio solar eclipse. The spotlight is on stability and security, money and income, value and worth. We may be navigating critical events and decisions. There may be a shake up, too. The full moon lunar eclipse is exact on November 8, 2022 at 6:03 am ET, 16 degrees Taurus/Scorpio. That’s 3:03 am Los Angeles, 11:03 am London, 1:03 pm Johannesburg, 10:03 pm Sydney, and 12:03 am Auckland on November 9.
Full moons are pivot points, but lunar eclipses can turn up the intensity, acting as a major catalyst for events. They can also put an area of our lives into a glaring spotlight, coinciding with events that take us in a new direction. People can swiftly exit and enter our lives, which is why lunar eclipses have the reputation that they have.
With a conjunction to Uranus, this Taurus lunar eclipse isn’t exactly a mystery. Whatever happens has its roots in May 2018, March 2019 when Uranus first entered Taurus. That’s when a certain section of our lives began to shake-up, reinvent, revolutionize, and in some cases, turn upside down. (Need a reminder where? Read Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign.)
The events of October-November are a continuation of the story, perhaps dramatically so. If Uranus spends seven years in Taurus, the events of 2021-2022 are a time when the story rapidly gains speed. And if you are a Taurus or a Scorpio (or even a Leo or Aquarius), you’re feeling this period acutely.
That said, let’s not forget that this eclipse is part of a series of eclipses that began with a Taurus lunar eclipse on November 19, 2021. Then we revisited the energies again with a Taurus solar eclipse on April 30, 2022 followed by a Scorpio lunar eclipse on May 16. Do you see a common thread?
The ruler of the full moon, Venus, is over in Scorpio, which highlights deeper themes around power and control, money and power, intimacy and vulnerability, as well as the shadow side of relationships. Can we trust? Are we safe? Are we valued? Is there a toxic relationship pattern that needs to break apart? This is a full moon that wants us to open up.
Venus also makes hard contacts to Uranus and Saturn, two planets that have reshaped our lives, not unlike two tectonic plates pulling in different directions. Saturn wants responsibility and structure. Uranus wants to break us out of anything that holds us back or is not in alignment with who we really are.
Despite all this intense energy, Venus gets support from Neptune and Jupiter in Pisces. Perhaps there’s a silver lining in the midst of everything. Maybe prayers are answered and a miracle comes our way. Maybe someone shows us big hearted compassion, generous forgiveness, and unconditional love. Maybe it’s the redemption we’ve been looking for.
