As the Sun and Saturn complete their opposition today, we may be feeling the weight of time as well as the responsibilities of life. Saturn helps us to grow older, but it also pushes back when we’ve overstepped the mark or struggled to follow through.
The Moon is in Aquarius, triggering a tense face off between the Sun and Saturn. Life may feel very serious at the moment, making demands for commitment and responsibility. Our faith and ideology may be tested as well. Try to be impartial and see the big picture.
We’re a couple of days past the Sagittarius Full Moon. With its strong aspects to Saturn and Neptune, we may be feeling emotionally heavy. Saturn is the weight of time and responsibility. Neptune, however, is the sacrifice that life sometimes demands from us.
We’re in the midst of something called a “mutable cross,” the planets bunched up in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. The mutable signs fall right before the start of a new season; they are inherently about transition, movement.
This week we’re coming up against a boundary, we’re feeling our age, we’re pushing against the odds, we’re reaching for a major milestone or achievement. There’s a sobriety to Saturn that cuts across illusions. It forces the issue. We know what we have to do.
Normally Gemini season is light and playful. It’s a youthful sign. But ever since Saturn moved into Sagittarius back in September, there’s been increased pressure on Gemini get serious. As we head into June, we’ll feel this pressure from Saturn to take a step up even more.
