Full moons are decision points. They put an area of our lives in full view. They can provoke, inspire, and even coincide with personal events. A full moon in Sagittarius? It activates the sign’s worldliness, it’s sometimes incessant need to find answers. Sagittarius is a visionary sign. After all, it’s the last fire sign — the fire of knowledge, the fire of revelation, the fire that transforms how we see things.
What do you believe in? What is your truth? Your guiding star? With Sagittarius, we have to have a compass in the world, something that helps us make sense of things. Traditionally Sagittarius is the sign of religion, law, and higher education, institutions that help us to understand the world around us and give us a sense of right and wrong.
On a larger level, Sagittarius is the light of the stars. It takes us out of emotional trials of Scorpio, the sign previous, and helps us to find spiritual knowledge from our experiences. It also takes the ideas and information of Gemini, the sign opposite, and creates stories and shares its wisdom.
In the chart of the full moon we find Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius, at the end of Taurus, which is to say that the full moon energies are directed at Taurus. They make for an interesting combination of energy. Sagittarius loves to travel and explore. Taurus likes to keep things familiar.
Another way of looking at it is that we need to get grounded or even align our beliefs with our material lives. Perhaps we need to get clear about what we value and if it’s integrity with our highest good.
Not that far away from Jupiter is Uranus. While the two planets made a conjunction on April 20, this full moon reactivates their energies of revolution, evolution, and profound insights. This may be a full moon where we reinvent ourselves. Venus is in the mix, too. Be open to gifts from the universe.
