Welcome to the Pisces Full Moon. This is the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on the final sign of the zodiac, a sign that invites us to release, forgive, find compassion, and search for meaning. The full moon is exact on September 10, 2022 at 5:59 am ET, 17 degrees Pisces/Virgo. That’s 2:59 am Los Angeles, 10:59 am London, 11:59 am Johannesburg, 7:59 pm Sydney, and 9:59 pm Auckland.
Full moons demand our attention. We have to react and take action. We have decisions to make. They reveal and show the result of something that began around the new moon two weeks before. In this case, this full moon directly plays upon the Virgo New Moon of August 27, 2022.
As the counter to grounded Virgo, Pisces pulls us into the ethers. It’s the intuition and dreams to Virgo’s rational analysis. Like all zodiac polarities, one cannot exist without the other. We need the spirituality of Pisces to balance out Virgo’s earthly concerns. But we can’t be so focused on the heavens that we lose track of practical needs of life.
Pisces and Virgo are the helping and healing signs, inspired to serve in different but complementary ways. And, so, we may be inspired to think of others during the full moon, to consider their needs as well as the needs of something greater.
It’s important to understand that when we reach Pisces, we’ve reached the end of the zodiac, a sign that detaches us from the physical constraints of life and returns our spirit back to Source. You can see this duality of life as well as the division between spirit and matter in the Pisces symbol of two fishes swimming in opposite directions.
Pisces is what we can and cannot take with us. We leave our bodies behind, but what do we take with us? What is our emotional and spiritual legacy? What have we nourished our soul with during our time on this earthly plane?
With this full moon, we are invited leave behind anything we don’t want to take with us, metaphorically and literally. This may take compassion — compassion for ourselves and others. This may even take forgiveness.
That said, the full moon makes a conjunction to Neptune in Pisces, an evolutionary planet. This means that the days around the full moon we may feel a confrontation, a push to evolve and to feel emotions that we typically don’t allow ourselves to feel. Neptune can pour out our hearts, make us question everything, and pull back the veil.
With Jupiter, the ruling planet of Pisces, over in Aries, this is a full moon that may be both an ending and beginning. We may need to take action, have important conversations, or reveal our vulnerabilities.
Nevertheless, this is an emotional full moon, more so than usual. Be gentle with yourself and others. Lean into your intuition. Search your soul. Question the meaning of your life.
And if you need to make a change or release a suffering, this is your opportunity.
Looking forward to Saturn moving from Pisces to Aquarius. I do not have a website.
