Welcome to October, a month that straddles the divide between Libra and Scorpio, between affability and charm and having to take the public facade off. That said, Libra teaches us about relationships, from connection to negotiation, compromise, and peace. If relationships is an area that needs attention, we may have our work cut out for us this Libra Season.

Take Pluto for example. After fives months retrograde, the planet of the shadow, transformation, and rebirth turns direct on October 3 at 20 Capricorn. Not only are we having to take a look at deeper themes around power, control, and the possible misuse of power, we’re also having to reform or rebuild something in our life. Pluto speaks to deep work. It touches on the soul and the soul’s many facets.

October is one of those months with a lot of subtext. The disagreement you had with your partner or boss is really about something different. Look for the subtle clues, the hints, the information that’s pushing you to awaken and transform. Pluto also turns direct on an eclipse degree, so we may see some twists and turns in the road this month.

Then on October 4 Mars arrives in Libra, heating up our connections and interactions. Libra is a sign of diplomacy and Mars isn’t quite at home in the sign, so there’s a tension about having to find common ground and be the peacemaker and having to navigate a lot of competing interests. Mars also activates eclipse degrees this month, so, again, we’re at a crossroads in October. Plus, we’re coming up against Saturn, so it’s a month to make sure everything is organized and above board.

An Aries Full Moon on October 13 spurs us to take action. It’s not the easiest energy for relationships, so keep that in mind if you’re feeling a bit combative with a partner. Between the full moon’s square to Saturn and Pluto and Venus opposite Uranus, we’re feeling feisty, fiery, and ready to make a break from the status quo.

Let’s not forget that Venus arrives in Scorpio on October 8, turning up the emotional and psychic intensity on our Libra Season. While Venus is not traditionally at home in Scorpio, it is a placement that teaches us about love as an act of courage and bravery as well as the all out power of intimacy and sexuality. But do keep in mind that Venus in Scorpio talks about the shadow side of love — manipulation, seduction, obsession, transactional relationships.

Speaking of Scorpio, the Sun arrives in the eighth sign of the zodiac on October 23 and kicks off a season focused on death and rebirth in its many forms. Scorpio takes us into the metaphoric underworld. It’s a sign that helps us to face our fears, open up, and grow into something emotionally and spiritually richer. Scorpio is also material riches and we’re looking at money and value and the power we associate with money this month as well.

A Scorpio New Moon on October 27 puts Scorpio’s many facets into focus. Something has to transform. And in order to do so, we have to get uncomfortable. We have to take a risk. We also need to get real. A square between Mars and Saturn asks us to weigh serious choices. Good thing it’s Mercury Retrograde starting October 31, holding us back from making any impulsive decisions without properly thinking things through.

I go into the astrology of October more deeply in my pre-recorded webinar, Your October 2019 Astrology Planner, a sign-by-sign look at the road ahead, the new and full moons, and how to plan accordingly. You can still purchase the video and audio replay of this pre-recorded webinar. Details here.

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

Libra Season means that it’s time to focus on relationships in their many forms. And, as you step into October just after a Libra New Moon, it’s a time of new beginnings or new chapters in relationships. If you’re single and want to open up to new partnership, October is a natural time for you to do so. In fact, when Mars arrives in Libra on October, you’re naturally seeking out connection. You’re also having to negotiate more this month and put aside your needs in favor of the needs of others. How will you find balance? Additionally, how will you socialize, mingle, and interact with others this month? If you’re already in a serious relationship, it’s important to use October to focus on restrengthening your connection, opening up about fears or discussing vulnerabilities with a mate, especially after Venus arrives in Scorpio on October 8. Venus in Scorpio needs love to be a powerful connection, which, truthfully, can sometimes border on obsession. But do open your heart and soul this month and be preprepared to not only work on yourself, but work on any relationship that has turned toxic or possibly even abusive. Don’t forget, Saturn is still strong in the sky this month and Saturn not only needs accountability, but it needs equity, fairness, and healthy boundaries. If a relationship is beyond repair, don’t be afraid to let it go. An opposition between Venus and Uranus on October 12 may force the issue. Then on October 13, an Aries Full Moon puts you into the spotlight. It’s a time to take action and take the lead, but don’t forget that Mars, your ruling planet, is in Libra all month long, so you’re also having to make sure you’re not forgetting a relationship in your life as you move forward. The full moon also picks up on eclipse energy, both from January and July 2019. To that point, October may be a turning point month for you, a month when you’re having to deal with more things than usual, negotiate the twists and turns of life, and make important decisions about relationships, career, and even home and family. This year has likely been a big year for you, Aries. With Saturn still high up in your chart in Capricorn, you’re still having to figure out and step up towards your ambitions. Just keep in mind that Pluto turns direct in Capricorn on October 3. Your ambitions, your responsibilities, the world you play in the world has been under a state of massive transformation over the last decade. (Yup, since 2008.) With Saturn in the mix, it may feel like you’ve been working hard for something that hasn’t materialized or has constantly changed despite your efforts. Next year is going to be a milestone year for your professional life. In many ways you could say that you’ve been working all these years to reach 2020. But your career and even your life direction may be very different or need to look very different than where you started way back in 2008. Listen to what Saturn is trying to teach you. Don’t try to force something. Don’t try to use any shortcuts. Use October to come back into alignment with a plan that’s bigger than you. Clear out any debris or personal fears or roadblocks preventing you from reaching your goals as well as the goals that your soul has laid out for you. When Mars squares Saturn on October 27, the same day as a Scorpio New Moon, a time of personal transformation and rebirth, you may need to surrender to the inevitable. Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

In many ways you could look at Libra Season as a check in on your yearly resolutions. Yes, it’s nearly the end of 2019, but October is often a month when you need to get practical and organized about life, according to your personal calendar. A new moon just before the start of the month pointed the way towards making health, wellness, and work a priority in October. When Mars arrives in Libra on October 4, you’ll feel this more strongly. Mars is action. It’s motivation. You may find yourself going to the gym or for a walk, starting projects, scheduling check-ups with the doctor, and getting on top of your to-do list. You know, all that stuff you’re supposed to be doing to keep life humming along. When Venus arrives in Scorpio on October 4, some of the narrative starts to shift to relationships. Yes, Scorpio is your relationship sign and the rest of October has you reaching out to make connection, spend time with a partner, or open up to new partnership. Keep in mind that you’re still at the beginning of a seven year story where you need to reinvent yourself courtesy of Uranus in Taurus. (I’ve been writing about this quite a lot in this year’s horoscopes.) And as you reinvent yourself, your relationships are naturally going to transform because you have transformed. When Venus opposes Uranus on October 12, it may be a reminder of how far you’ve traveled in just a short amount of time, so to speak, and what you want to leave behind. A full moon on October 13 talks about endings, especially what you need to shed in order to move forward. No one likes endings, but it’s a necessary part of life. The old has to make way for the new. As you do, the time around the full moon may be emotional. You may need to take some time to pull back and reflect. With Venus in Scorpio most of October, relationships are highlighted and as Mars, your relationship planet, squares the Lunar Nodes on October 21, you may have to face something from your past. Perhaps an old relationship is resurfacing. Perhaps you’re seeing an old pattern replay. Perhaps you’re at a crossroads with a relationship. On October 27, a Scorpio New Moon is a reboot for your relationships and picks up on these larger themes of transformation and reinvention that will wind their way through the coming years. With Mars square Saturn, you have a serious decision to make about a connection, whether it’s a romantic relationship or a partnership in your life. Just remember, everything needs balance. And in October you’re learning the fine art of negotiation and compromise so that everyone can get what they need. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Key Themes: Work, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, schedule, organization, projects, the real world, relationships, other people, partnerships, negotiation, compromise, harmony, balance, transformation, intimacy, power, control, obsession, powerful connection, rebirth, reinvention, upending the status quo, endings, letting go, retreat, reflection, recuperation, spiritual health.

Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Libra Season is your time to kick back, relax, and enjoy the romance of life. Not bad, right? And in many ways this month — at least the beginning — helps to keep things light. October, however, is a bit of a mixed bag for you, Gemini. Yes, it’s a time to create, find your passion, and express who you are. But with Mercury, your ruling planet, in Scorpio starting on October 3, you’re delving into life’s deeper psychological themes. You’re taking risks, facing your fears, and feeling vulnerable. And it’s worth mentioning again (as I’ve done in previous horoscopes) that this year is a bit of a tough year overall. You’re having to do a lot of emotional heavy lifting and dig into the psychic corners of your soul. It’s work that’s made you feel raw and overwhelmed at times. Another thing I’ll say again is that it’s important to have someone guide you through this emotional process in the form of a therapist or a counselor. You don’t have to, of course, but it really would make things easier and help you have a more structured approach to the emotional lessons you’re learning this month. So, as you work on your physical health in October — Scorpio is your sign of health and wellness, after all — you’re also working on your emotional health as well. In fact, Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio on October 31, which means that whatever is going on in the health and work department this month means that you’re revisiting it in November. Use Mercury Retrograde positively to return to any health initiatives that need a second look, especially around the time of the Scorpio New Moon on October 27. A square between Mars and Saturn at the same time makes it an imperative. So, if there’s anything you’ve been avoiding or sweeping under the rug, October is the month for you to get real with yourself. Look at what’s in your blindspots, even if it’s uncomfortable. Not to get ahead of things, but a full moon on October 13 puts friendships and community in the spotlight. With the full moon’s strong connection to Saturn, make sure you’re setting healthy boundaries with friends and social connections, especially if you’re realizing that a friend is negatively impacting your emotional health. That said, despite October’s heavier content, make sure you’re balancing it out by spending time on the things that you love to do. Be creative and rekindle any creative projects, too. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Get a deeper look in my pre-recorded webinar, Your October 2019 Planner webinar. Or, Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Identity, creativity, self expression, talents, risk, fun, passion, pleasure, romance, work, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, emotional health, mental health, spiritual health, the psyche, projects, organization, intimacy, vulnerability, facing fears, sexuality, the deep self, self destruction, the shadow self, power, control, manipulation, friends, community, social circle, networks, groups, the future, looking ahead.

Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

Cancer, let’s first take a step back and put October into perspective. This year has likely had a lot of ups and downs courtesy of eclipses in both Cancer and Capricorn, two signs that form a seesaw of sorts. Perhaps you’ve seen a lot of changes personal changes and powerful new beginnings. Perhaps your life has changed course or that you’ve come to a crossroads. Perhaps relationships have changed, too. The eclipses and their cyclical nature remind us that there are times that takes us in a new direction. I mention this because October activates the eclipse energy of this past January and July, touching on stories or themes from earlier this year. Yes, the wheel of life turns yet again. Then again, it’s Libra Season, a time when you are naturally drawn to home and family. It’s a season to put down roots, tend your nest, or even move to a new home. Libra Season is a reminder that we all need a strong foundation to support our lives. So, if your foundation has been an area that has been neglected, how will you recommit to it this month? After Mars arrives in Libra on October 4, the home environment may be a bit noisy and you may have more family responsibilities than usual. (Sometimes Mars can bring remodeling or home improvement projects.) That said, do keep in mind that one of the primary themes of 2019 is relationship and Pluto’s direct turn in Capricorn, your relationship sign, on October 3, may stir up a deeper issue that you’ve been working on with a partner. How do you open up? How do you trust? By October 13, career is in the spotlight with an Aries Full Moon. Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? Maybe that’s a funny way of putting it, but the full moon talks about having to make a serious decision about the future, your ambitions, and how other key areas line up, namely home and relationships. And it may mean that you’re having to negotiate with a partner or a close family member about your career plans. On a more mundane level, the full moon puts your professional world in the spotlight. It’s a full moon to get noticed and recognized for your efforts. Just make sure you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing while all eyes are on you. By October 23 the Sun moves into Scorpio and you enter a season that helps you to express who you are, share your talents, and be creative. It’s also a season of romance and play, but with Mars square Saturn, make sure you’re taking romance as well as your talents and self expression seriously. (If you’re planning on starting a family, October touches on a lot of areas that support making a serious decision about children, FYI.) The Scorpio New Moon on October 27 gives you an opportunity to remake and transform yourself into something new. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

It’s a busy month! Libra Season is already a time in your personal calendar when you’re on the move. You’re going back and forth around town or heading out on a road trip. You’re also juggling responsibilities and fielding phone calls or messages. Since it’s a season for you to explore and take in new information, classes and education may factor in your experiences this October, too. So, when Mars arrives in Libra on October 4, the pace of life heats up even more, which means that there’s an immediacy to travel, education, and communication this month. There are places that you have to go. There are things that you have to say. There’s information that you need to find. That said, make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Pluto’s direct turn in Capricorn on October 3 is a reminder that you’ve been transforming how you take care of your body and your overall health for the last ten years. I know that’s a large swath of time, but Pluto works on a slower time scale. So you may have to take another look at what needs to change in your diet or fitness or how you organize your day-to-day life. Saturn, also in Capricorn, has been pushing you to take your health more seriously and that work continues this month. When the Sun, your planet, squares off with Saturn on October 7, you’re getting a check-in on your progress. But you may be traveling a lot this month and, as you may know, travel isn’t always conducive to sticking to healthy habits and routines. Speaking of travel, a full moon on October 13 may have you planning a long distance trip, whether across the country or to a foreign destination. If you can’t travel, the full moon also speaks to needing to figure out what you believe in. As in, what do you put your faith in? How do you see the world and yourself in it? What influences and shapes your philosophy? By October 23 you’re in Scorpio Season, a time that pulls you towards home and family. With Venus already in Scorpio, you may be taking on some home improvement projects this month or trying to add new decorative touches to your living space. But at the heart of Scorpio Season and the Scorpio New Moon on October 27 is a need to focus on what’s going to feed and nurture your life. It’s important for you to have powerful emotional connections and for you to surround yourself with people who give you that quality of connection. Don’t be afraid to weed out or set boundaries with the people who are not feeding you. Additionally, since the Scorpio New Moon bounces off of Uranus, later this month you’re revisiting a larger personal story – changing your career or changing your life’s direction. And, as a result, you may be making some major decision this month that alters your course. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Get a deeper look in my pre-recorded webinar, Your October 2019 Planner webinar. Or, Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Communication, information, messages, thinking, writing, speaking, education, classes, learning, travel, trips, the neighborhood, siblings, long distance journeys, foreign travel, the world, perspective, right and wrong, faith, truth, belief, philosophy, religion, publishing, work, health, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, organization, projects, real world responsibilities, home, family, living situation, roots, foundation, the past, ancestors, inner life, inner circle.

Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

Virgo, everyone knows that you’re a deeply perceptive sign and with Mercury, your ruling planet, in Scorpio all month long, your keen eye will be sharper than usual. Here’s the thing, though. You’re one of those signs that knows a lot and, yes, you’re often right. But with Mercury coming up to another retrograde starting on October 31, you’re going to have to reflect on whether you’re seeing things correctly or if you have the right information. Further, if you’re making certain choices this month, you may have to change them or, at the very least, revisit them in November. So pay attention to what’s unfolding this month. Use your Virgo perception to watch what’s going on around you as well as within you. Be open to new ways of seeing things, especially around October 7 when Mercury faces off with Uranus. Communication, learning, and travel have added importance because they will be themes that take you into November. That said, it’s Libra Season, a time in your personal calendar when you naturally turn to money and resources. Do you have enough? Do you need to get your material life in order? When Mars arrives in Libra on October 4, you’re feeling extra motivated to create more material stability and security in your life. What does this look like? This could mean buying more of the things that you need and stocking the pantry. Or it could just mean simply shopping more or accumulating stuff throughout the month. Or it could mean taking on new initiatives to make more money. Try not to overdo it too much. The full moon on October 13 puts finance and debt into focus. You may have a decision to make about bigger financial issues. The full moon also puts the spotlight on deeper emotional themes. It’s a time when you may have to face the things or the feelings that cause you to feel unsafe, but it’s the act of facing them that helps you to find more stability and security, ironically enough. As Mercury starts to slow down later this month, you start to slow down. Scorpio Season, which begins on October 23, is usually a busy time for you, a time to explore and travel and take in the varied experiences of life. And you may still be doing that in October and November, but with Mercury coming up to a retrograde, just make sure you’re giving yourself time and options. You know, the usual. Speaking of Scorpio Season, a Scorpio New Moon on October 27 opens up a new lunar month focused on education and information and new ideas. As I mentioned earlier, this is a perfect month for you to get a new perspective. The new moon makes what’s called an opposition to Uranus, a planet that’s been in the early stages of helping you to see the world and see yourself in a completely different way. This new moon may confront, awaken, and shake things up. Just what you need, apparently. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Get a deeper look in my pre-recorded webinar, Your October 2019 Planner webinar. Or, Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Money, income, spending, material needs, resources, stability, security, value, self worth, finance, assets, wealth, debt, savings, communication, information, messages, ideas, writing, speaking, learning, classes, education, travel, trips, world view, belief, truth, choices, the self, identity, self expression, creativity.

Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

Happy birthday, Libra! What are you wishing for? The Sun returns to your sign for its annual visit and it’s time for a fresh start. With Mars arriving in Libra on October 4, you’ve got the motivation and drive to move forward and take the lead in your life. While you’re typically a more diplomatic sign, Mars in Libra makes you more interested in getting what you want instead of catering to the needs of others. Mars in Libra also touches on some recent eclipse energy, so don’t be surprised if your birthday season is filled with some twists and turns or important milestones, especially in the home, family, and career departments. Speaking of home, Pluto turns direct in Capricorn on October 3, a sign that forms the foundation of your chart. Pluto’s 11 year long visit to Capricorn (yes, 11 years!) means that you’ve been in a very long chapter of digging up, ripping out, and transforming the very core of your chart. You may have made some big moves or dealt with major issues with family. Pluto’s direct turn this month is a return to a long running story and a fundamental question — what does your life need to thrive? I always think of a plant that needs new soil or a new pot whenever I think of Pluto’s transit through this part of the chart. Perhaps that metaphor touches on something for you. When Venus arrives in Scorpio on October 8 the vibe starts to change. Scorpio is a sign that touches on money, stability, and security and, for the rest of the month, you may be more keenly focused on money matters, from resources and assets to income and how to earn a living. That said, as much as Libra Season is all about you, it’s also a natural time in your personal calendar to focus on relationships. In fact, the Aries Full Moon on October 13 puts relationships in the spotlight. You may have a decision to make about a connection or you may need to make a commitment or even renegotiate boundaries with a partner. With Venus opposes Uranus the day before, this month may be a turning point between you and major connection. Uranus wants to wake you up by having you look at the things that maybe you haven’t wanted to look at — your fears, your past, issues around intimacy and vulnerability — and how it affects how you interact with others. Yes, it’s your birthday season, and you probably don’t want to have to work this hard this month, but the astrology is putting you through your paces, especially in the relationship department. On October 23, the Sun arrives in Scorpio and you say goodbye to another birthday season. Scorpio, however, is one of your money signs and the coming season is all about the material world, especially after the Scorpio New Moon on October 27. Do keep in mind that Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio on October 31, so if you’re looking on making a major purchase or investment, it’s wise to wait till next month. Use the interim to plan and gather what you need, but make sure you have options in case other events or avenues open up. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Key Themes: New beginnings, renewal, taking the lead, taking action, anger, frustration, relationships, other people, interactions, negotiation, diplomacy, partnerships, turning points, home, family, foundation, roots, the past, memories, emotional core, emotional connection, emotional needs, money, income, material needs, spending, resources, stability, security, finance, assets, awakenings, transformations.

Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

It’s almost your birthday season! But, first, time to rest. It’s been a long trip around the zodiac and 2019 has likely been a year where you’ve seen a few shake-ups. Even you, Scorpio, a sign accustomed to change, could use some time to reflect on what’s changed and how its impacted you. When Mars, your ruling planet, moves into Libra on October 4, you’re getting such an opportunity. So October is likely a low key month, one where you retreat from the world and search your soul for answers. (Take your vitamins, too, because Mars in this part of your chart can make you more susceptible to colds.) One of the major themes of this year has been your need to focus and work on how you use your mind. Maybe that’s a strange way of putting it, but Saturn’s trip through Capricorn, your sign of communication and learning, means that you’ve been likely flexing those brain muscles. As the Sun comes up to a square to Saturn on October 7, it’s a check in on how you’re valuing what you have to say and how you communicate it as well as how you prioritize your education. Of course, Scorpio, you have powerful things to say, just be mindful of how you’re doing so. Pluto’s been in Capricorn for quite some time, too. Its direct turn on October 3 is a reminder that you’re a decade into a story of completely transforming how you communicate. This month is merely another chapter in this story. Pluto turning direct may also bring powerful information to light, so keep an eye on what’s revealing or coming to the surface the first week of October. Another area of focus this month is how you interact with others. Venus’s arrival in Scorpio on October 8 and Venus’s opposition to Uranus on October 12 are another reminder that another part of your life is undergoing a complete overhaul — relationships. In fact, you’re at the start of a seven year chapter of reinventing your relationships and October is a check-in on your progress. That said, a full moon on October 13 puts work and health in the spotlight. Make sure you’re tending to your physical well being in addition to your spiritual well being. It may also be time to let something go — a habit, an addiction, old stuff – in order to prepare for the coming personal year. On October 23 the Sun arrives in Scorpio and you kick off your birthday season. With Mars still in Libra until November 19, you may be more interested in a quieter celebration or one that is at least filled with the people and things that hold greater meaning for you. A Scorpio New Moon on October 27 gives you a personal new beginning and a time to set intentions for the coming year. But its opposition to Uranus means that you need to expand your horizons and shake things up in the coming months. Nothing you can’t handle or do, Scorpio. I know you’d rather be in charge of how the change unfolds, but you’re in a time where you’re having to truly surrender. Want to learn more about how the astrology of October will affect you? Get a deeper look in my pre-recorded webinar, Your October 2019 Planner webinar. Or, Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Endings, shedding skin, retreat, reflection, surrender, searching for answers, meditation, spirituality, spiritual needs, spiritual health, physical health, taking care of the body, diet, fitness, nutrition, work, projects, getting serious, setting boundaries, communication, writing, speaking, talking, thinking, learning, classes, education, travel, new beginnings, relationships, other people, partnership, shake-ups.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

Phew, thankfully Jupiter is starting to move past its square with Neptune, because all that soul searching you did in September was starting to drag you down. Yes, you’re a sign known for its optimism and faith and sometimes that optimism and faith gets tested. That said, it’s Libra Season, a time when you not only turned towards friends and community, but a time when you look towards the future. After all, you’re starting to come to the end of a long journey around the zodiac in preparation for your birthday season. Over the past months, what worked? What didn’t? What are your hopes and wishes for the coming months? Libra Season helps you to get perspective. As I mentioned, it’s also a time when friendships are naturally highlighted and October is a good time to reach out to your social circle or any groups you’re a part of, especially once Mars arrives in Libra on October 4. But if friendship is an area that needs work or if there is a long running issue within your community, Mars may stir things up. Another area that needs your attention this month is money and your material life. Between Saturn putting pressure on you and Pluto’s direct turn in Capricorn on October 3, you’re checking in this month with a very long story around transforming what you value and how you use money and earn a living. (FYI, this story began in 2008.) Pluto and Saturn can be very hard allies, but they are ultimately working you to make necessary changes in finance and spending. Additionally, relationships and romance may get a shake-up as Mercury faces off with Uranus on October 7 followed by an Aries Full Moon on October 13 with Venus opposite Uranus. The full moon is a reminder for you to be yourself and never devalue yourself or your work — or let anyone else devalue you. The Sun moves into Scorpio on October 23 and you begin the process of pulling back from the world to retreat and reflect as you reach the end of your personal year. The Scorpio New Moon on October 27 gives you an opportunity to detach and let things go, especially old value systems or feelings of lack and inadequacy. With the new moon’s opposition to Uranus, it’s a reminder that you’re at the start of a seven year story of reinventing your work, your health, and every facet of your daily life. Use the new moon to get back to the deepest parts of yourself as well as back to your physical body. Keep in mind that Mercury turns retrograde on October 31, so you’re reworking through old relationships and rethinking your direction or even your career. Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

Lots going on this month, Capricorn, and it’s one of those months this year where there’s a bend in the road for you. First, it’s Libra Season, which means that the Sun is traveling through the highest reaches of your chart. It’s a season that naturally inspires you to step up in the world and make something of yourself. Since October begins right after Libra New Moon, you may be looking to change jobs or start new initiatives in your professional life. When Mars arrives in Libra on October 4, get ready for a busy month of work and responsibilities. As a Capricorn, you’re naturally hardwired to build for the future and work hard to get there. So, in many ways, October resonates with your Capricorn personality. That said, don’t work too hard and or come down on yourself because Pluto’s direct station on October 3 is a reminder that you’re in a long chapter of your life where you have to completely transform yourself. This means the old you, a harder version of you, and the Capricorn parts that are working against the better parts have to go. Pluto is the planet of rebirth and in a way you’re being reborn yet again this month. (You can do this Capricorn! I have faith in you.) The other thing to keep in mind is that we’re getting a shot of eclipse energy this month as Mars and Pluto active recent eclipse degrees. As you may know, you were in the spotlight back with January and July’s eclipses, eclipses that talked about relationships and having to open up to people. How are you doing with that? October is a check in. Speaking of which, the Aries Full Moon on October 13 touches on eclipse energy and highlights home and family. You may have a decision to make about your home or where you live. Family might be a major focus or you’re taking a look at the past. Be gentle with yourself around this full moon. It’s pressing on a lot of sensitive energy. As a result, you may feel very emotional in a way that feels exposed or public. Do what you need to do to have support or the care you need, especially in the days around the full moon. Then on October 23, the Sun arrives in Scorpio, your sign of friendship and community. The rest of the month focuses on connection, especially within your social circle, so you may be reaching out to friends, making plans to meet up, and connecting with other like minded people within your community. A Scorpio New Moon on October 27 gives your social life a reset and asks you to set healthy boundaries with people or strengthen existing friendships. You may even be called on to be a leader. Regardless, with the new moon’s opposition to Uranus, whatever you do and with whomever you’re connecting with — old friends, new friends — remember to be yourself. Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

Aquarius, there’s so much going on behind the scenes. It’s as if you’re quietly preparing for a new life, a life that you’ll get a sneak peak from March to July 2020 when Saturn finally emerges into Aquarius … but only for a few months. The real new beginning happens at the end of 2020. In the meantime, you’re waiting in the wings, so to speak. You’re planning, dismantling, and rebuilding. Your dreams may be more active this month, especially as Pluto turns direct in Capricorn on October 3. Pay attention to the scenes and images that bubble up from your psyche for clues for deeper insight into this time in your life. That said, you may be traveling a lot this month. Libra, after all, is one of your travel signs and you step into October possibly planning a big trip or packing your suitcase. If you can’t travel, what’s going to let your mind wander? What’s going to feed your curiosity and open up the world to you? But it’s going to be hard to sit still once Mars arrives in Libra on October 4. It’s inspiring you to seek out different cultures or ways of thinking. And with Venus arriving in Scorpio on October 8, you may even be traveling or taking classes for work. That said, there’s a few strong aspects in the sky for you this month and the Sun’s bend of the Lunar Nodes on October 5 followed by a square to Pluto on October 14 may touch on some prickly or sensitive issues in relationship. Venus even opposes Uranus on October 12, so you’re going into the October 13 Aries Full Moon needing to open up to a radical new perspective or making a break from the past. The full moon also highlights travel and education even more, so it’s likely to be a busy Libra Season. When the Sun arrives in Scorpio on October 23, it steps into your career sign and you enter a new season devoted to ambition, success, and achievement. Things have been shifting in your life this year, Aquarius, and even though much of it is gestational, like the long wait for something to be born, a Scorpio New Moon on October 27 reminder that home and family are an area that are shaking up over the coming years. Despite the new moon’s focus on career, new opportunities, and maybe even a job change, it brings you back to one of the principal themes of 2019 — getting your emotional needs met and breaking away from the people and situations that no longer feed you. October and November may touch on a move that is both figurative and literal. Mercury goes into retrograde on October 31, so don’t do anything major if you can until later in November. Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

As a Pisces, you have a big responsibility — to feel everything, to understand life in its may complicated facets, and to teach others the power of empathy. It can be an overwhelming responsibility at times, so it’s important that you’re using Libra Season to tend to your emotional health and wellbeing. Mars’s arrival in Libra on October 4 may start to press on some deep buttons and stir up previously hidden or buried feelings, feelings that may make you feel vulnerable. It’s good to have a guide to see you through your personal underworld. After all, this is your designated time in the zodiac calendar to dig deep into your many psychic corners and crevices. It’s also a time for you to bring greater awareness to your relationships and how you navigate power and control issues, especially in romantic partnerships. Speaking of navigating power and control, Pluto’s direct turn on October 3 touches on power dynamics within your friendships and community. Do you feel like you belong? Like others can see you? Value you? You may be tussling with a relationship or having to confront something around October 7 when Mercury faces off with Uranus, something that may demand that you make a break from the past. Then on October 13 an Aries Full Moon puts the spotlight on money and resources. You may need to make decisions about a major purchase or the things you need to feel physical stable and secure, like a roof over your head and food in the pantry. But the full moon may also talk about needing to decide how to earn a living or take action on a financial matter such as insurance, taxes, or estate planning. October is one of those months that gives us a wobble, which is to say that the earth shifts beneath our feet a little, something that may bring up some anxiety in a season where it’s usually about keeping things nice and level. How will you adapt? Go with the flow, Pisces. You always do. Then on October 23 the Sun arrives in Scorpio and you kick off a new season devoted to travel, exploration, and finding the answers to life’s mysteries. A Scorpio New Moon on October 27 puts this strongly into focus. You may be taking a long distance journey later this month. If you do, know that Mercury turns retrograde on October 31, which isn’t a deal breaker, but it does mean needing to have some back up plans just in case. Lastly, the new moon touches on a hard angle between Mars and Saturn. You may have a decision to make about a friendship or social connection. Since you’re in a year where you’re working hard on building lasting friendships, the new moon may reveal something that has been at the core of an old issue or fear around connection.
