Neptune is now in Aries, a subtle yet major shift that will transform the sign for the next 14 years. If Aries is new beginnings, motivating us to lead and take action, Neptune acts as a catalyst, bringing collective spiritual action as well as an evolution of power.

Part of a cohort of planets called evolutionary planets, Neptune — along with Uranus and Pluto — work to foster personal and collective transformation. Sometimes that transformation reveals the shadows so that we may bring the light.

Wherever Neptune is, that area is a spiritual work. We have to “heal” that sign, which means that we need to transform what the archetype of the sign means for us, sublimating (or to make sublime) its lower expression within us. Neptune in Aries — in broad strokes — will be a call to heal our relationship with personal power, action, determination, individuality, and domination.

Neptune also amplifies the best and worst traits of the sign, something to be mindful as we navigate Aries for the next 14 years. We may see inspiring acts of courage alongside acts of aggression.

Ultimately, in the highest of its expression, Neptune is compassion, forgiveness, unity, and unconditional love. It reminds us of our universal origins. But, first, we have to go into Neptune’s abyss so that we may rise.

Aries and Aries Rising the self, individuality, personal power, action, drive, new beginnings and new cycles. It’s the start of a new beginning, but one that will play out in ways that may not always be obvious. Neptune amplifies, which means it can amplify the best and worst of Aries. Typically Aries is a sign that needs a lot of freedom. It wants to lead, inspire, and motivate. Neptune may act as a catalyst, inspiring new realities, a deepening of intuition, a desire to seek out purpose and meaning as well as to motivate others to discover their purpose and meaning. Like with all evolutionary planets, we have to check the ego. And an unchecked Aries feels justified to use its power over others. Neptune can bring fanaticism and a holier-than-thou attitude. An Aries Sun, in particular, may go through a period of deepened sensitivity or feeling very ungrounded. That said, the real work will be to transform how we take action, having grounded compassion for others and taking responsibility for how we inspire and motivate others. This is power with the consciousness of how to use this power because we understand what our power creates in our lives and in the world.

Taurus and Taurus Risingspirituality, intuition, inner journeys, dreams, the unconscious, release. Neptune brings you into space beyond this world, dissolving the boundaries between the physical plane and the spiritual planes. This is the influence of Neptune at its most subtle and, depending on who we are and the lives we have lived, our experiences may vary. For some, it is the start of a spiritual opening, a pull to discover new inner truths and to search for deeper meaning. This may come as a longing or a desire that is hard to put in words, a longing that is existential. Why am I here? What is this all for? What is the purpose of my life? For others, it is a deepening of something that has always been present, which may include a strengthening of intuition and intuitive gifts. The coming years may be rich with subtle inner discoveries. For a few, this marks a period of where previously buried emotions come to surface in great waves. Careful not to lose your footing. And some may find that Neptune marks a chapter of time that initiates a higher calling, a pull to serve at a spiritual level, to be a force of peace, and use actions for the higher good.

Gemini and Gemini Risingfriends, community, groups, society, social issues and causes, humanitarianism, belonging. Neptune opens up a space that at its core is about our connection to our world. In its highest expression, Neptune inspires us to find our universal roots, our shared humanity with others, to be of service to our community and beyond. We may feel a call to get involved with groups and organizations, taking the energy of Aries and put it towards the achievement of a collective goal. For some, Neptune opens social consciousness and awareness of humanitarian issues. But Neptune may amplify a longing and need for community. And as much as this space can bring us closer to others, Neptune may bring a feeling of disillusionment and disconnection that reveals a distorted view of the world. Through the lens of Neptune, the rise of technology and AI may seem dystopian. In order to find connection we need to first heal our deep feelings of abandonment as well as our anxieties about the world. Of course, not small task. While Neptune is never concrete or ambitious, and its work cannot be measured, it creates a perspective shift instead that, in the case of Aries, Gemini’s 11th sign, may motivate you to discover what connection means.

Cancer and Cancer Risingcareer, title, public life, power, responsibility, maturity. If Aries is Cancer’s sign of ambition and career, Neptune makes for an interesting combination. Your experiences over the coming years will be highly personal to your soul’s journey. In general, Neptune can erode ambition. That’s because Neptune, in its highest expression, has ambitions that are otherworldly and altruistic. And a story may unfold around power and how you wield power. Typically the example I give for Neptune in the 10th is, “It doesn’t matter if you’re the most powerful person in the world and have the money, title, and influence to go with it. First, it has to feed your soul.” For some, the coming years may bring a value shift in career and professional life. There may be a career change so that your professional life matches who you are and what you stand for. Material successes and accolades may not be so fulfilling anymore. So, what will take its place? There may be a period of wandering, seeking and searching for something in the world. But Neptune can also amplify, distorting our ambitions in a way that may bring us into illusions around power and influence. Neptune sets a high bar ultimately, a place of integrity for us to work towards. But, first, we may need to do a lot of personal healing around ambition, status, and power.

Leo and Leo Risingknowledge, the world, exploration, travel, education, faith, belief. Neptune brings you out into the world. The coming years will be highly individual based on who we are and our soul’s experiences. In general, the role of the 9th House, and Aries is Leo’s 9th House, is to expand our world. We are pushed to go beyond ourselves. On a surface level, the 9th deals with matters of faith and belief, religion and philosophy, law and morality. Neptune’s influence may not be as evident right away. Instead it may show up as an existential longing, a desire to know more, and see the world. Trips or journeys may take on deep philosophical importance and we encounter points of view that have a profound influence. For some, the coming years mean more involvement in the world, from sharing and publishing ideas, to advocating for certain beliefs. For others, Neptune may amplify our world view or even distort our point of view. The risk is to not lose touch with reality. Overall, our vision of the world will change and hopefully become more expansive. But we may have healing to do on matters of faith, truth, and meaning.

Virgo and Virgo Risinginner self, deep emotions, inner work, the psyche, intimacy, legacies. Neptune initiates you into the deep. It’s hard to quantify the road ahead, but what will likely happen is that there will be a great shift in your inner emotional and psychic landscape. The role of the 8th sign, and Aries is your 8th sign, is to bring you into a space of alchemy. Neptune will make you face yourself, slowly, layer by layer, breaking down the outer facade. Your experiences will in part be dependent on your level of emotional maturity and self awareness. And no one is supposed to do the 8th alone, which is why this chapter of your life may bring guides, therapists, and shamans along the way. For some, the coming years may bring profound healing and inner discovery, releasing the ghosts of the past and other psychic inheritances. For others, Neptune instead is a siren, luring you into your own shadows, traps, and illusions. You may be challenged to open up intimately. You may need to heal your relationship with trust, power, and control. The depth you find within yourself will bring an inner wealth that can never be lost. But, first, you will have to do the work.

Libra and Libra Risingrelationships, other people, socialization, connection, partnership. Neptune highlights a shift of seasons, a time when relationships will begin to transform in ways that will not always be so evident. If Neptune is an evolutionary force, how you connect, interact, and socialize with people will have to evolve to include more empathy, understanding, and connection. Your experiences over the coming years will be highly personal depending on your own lived experiences and personal evolution. For example, if you have a hard time setting boundaries, then Neptune in Aries may coincide with periods of having to redefine boundaries and affirm your wants and needs. But it may also be a time that introduces deep emotional material within a relationship, to create a deeper love with a partner. For some, it may be a time to examine illusions and facades, lies and deception. For others, to examine codependency and themes of personal sacrifice. Note that If you are a Libra Sun, there will be a different element to this transit because Neptune will oppose the Sun. The Sun is the self, the vitality and light of the chart. Neptune may introduce a period of feeling ungrounded or feeling a lack of connection or even feeling low energy. There may be a time of deep existential questioning and a push to “let go”. Take care to guard health and nutrition and avoid substances. Use this energy to positively explore the balance between the material and the spiritual while keeping your grounding.

Scorpio and Scorpio Risinghealth, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, systems, work, projects, organization. Neptune brings its evolutionary force to your day-to-day life and the various systems and operations that they run on. If Neptune is an otherworldly energy, a planet that dissolves the boundaries between the spiritual and material planes, then its long work through Aries, your 6th House, will make for an odd pairing at times. How will you bring the spiritual into the everyday? How will your acts and even your service to others honor the universal connection that we as humans share? Neptune sets a high bar. And the coming years may bring a need to completely reorganize and reprioritize major parts of your day-to-day life. Scorpios have a reputation for being workaholics. Neptune doesn’t have the same priorities or even the same values. True, Neptune can amplify and you may find yourself working more, but this is in order to bring you to the realization that maybe your energy would be better placed in other areas. For some, Neptune in Aries may shift your relationship with health, wellness, and your body. Sometimes Neptune shows up as increased sensitivities in diet and environment. The foods you have normally eaten don’t feel compatible anymore. Listen to your body. It has something it wants to tell you. Use Neptune to learn to protect your boundaries … body, mind, and soul … to purify, and to create a deeper connection between the physical and the spiritual.

Sagittarius and Sagittarius Risingthe self, talents, gifts, play, passion, creativity, children. Neptune arrives in a space that, ideally, is filled with passion and creativity and a well defined and healthy sense of self. However, life isn’t always so easy. Over the coming years, you may need to ask yourself … Who am I? Neptune may bring a period of deep work on this very question, to heal the wounds of the past, to examine illusions and affectations, all to reveal a version of self that has been previously submerged. For some, it opens up a period of creativity and self expression and even experimentation. Art and music may be your tool of creation. Or there may be a desire to act or dress more colorfully. Children may factor into this time, too. But for others, it could amplify existing emotions that may be overwhelming at times — I’m not good enough, I’m not up the task. Take care around any self destructive tendencies and self medication around these feelings. Of course, this may not be relevant to everyone. Instead, Neptune may activate a period of longing and searching to ultimately brings you to a version of self that is more at peace and able to share itself with others and the world.

Capricorn and Capricorn Risinghome, family, roots, foundation, past, memories, emotional bonds. For you, Aries represents your base and foundation, your home and family as well as the roots that help you to feel a sense of emotional security and stability. Of course, home and family for many comes with a lot of complicated feelings and mixed emotions. Nevertheless, family is one of the cornerstones of life. Enter Neptune. It’s hard to quantify what the coming decade plus will mean for you, mostly because it depends on the specificities of your life and the events that have shaped, marked, and influenced home and family. Neptune may erode and shift your foundation. For some, Neptune begins to bring up a lot of deep emotions, some buried or even repressed. You may start seeing childhood, early memories, and your parents through a new lens. If your formative years came with a lot of pain and suffering, Neptune initiates a chapter of your life devoted to healing the trauma of the past. This healing may not just be for you, but may also involve ancestral healing. Sometimes Neptune can bring floods that are highly symbolic … a basement flood that forces you to clear out what you have been holding onto … a flood that represents tears that have been unshed. Neptune’s waters will find you to help you wash away the past and, hopefully, help you to forgive. For others, Neptune may bring an emotional opening, a longing for family and connection that may have not been previously there. Ultimately it is to find a higher form of connection. Perhaps not blood family, but spiritual family.

Aquarius and Aquarius Risingvoice, communication, thinking, learning education, information, curiosity, choice. How do you use your voice? Or express your curiosity about life? Neptune’s arrival in your 3rd sign will make for a subtle influence that, at its core, marks a period of transformation in how you speak, listen, learn, and even make choices. Since Neptune works around a deeper need to sublimate and heal, the coming years will be different depending on the life you’ve lived and your history of communication. If you’ve been one to not speak or to adopt the expressions and mannerisms of others, then Neptune is a call to reveal your own voice. Neptune is also an interesting influence on the 3rd sign since it is normally a space reserved for the intellectual mind and its processes — writing, speaking, learning. The coming years may open a time where thinking and learning is through the lens of a planet that dissolves the boundaries between the physical and non-physical world. Some may find that Neptune opens up intuition and mediumship or a need to communicate in a way that evokes compassion and understanding. Or, Neptune may bring an intensely creative time, especially for singers and artists. For others, there may be periods of confusion. What is real? What is an illusion? Can I trust the veracity of what I am hearing, learning? The voice may become poetic and even seductive. Ultimately it is to become more conscious of the power of the voice and its capacity to affect others and the responsibility that that entails.

Pisces and Pisces Risingmoney, income, material stability, material security, value, worth, material possessions. Aries is Pisces’s 2nd sign and the role of the 2nd sign is to shape our relationship with money and income, material stability and security. As humans, we all need material resources, from the basics and beyond. But Neptune makes for an odd pairing as the planet is inherently about the immaterial and spiritual. Regardless, Neptune in Aries marks a subtle change that will play out in different ways over the coming years. For many, it’s the start of a shift of values, a need for the material and the spiritual to align. No, it won’t mean that you will have to sell off all your possessions and live the life of an aesthetic, but it may mean that the material things that you didn’t give a second thought now bring reflection. What do I truly need? Is this the way I want to make my money? Or invest my time in? For some, the coming years may bring a chapter where you will need to heal your relationship with the material, releasing old patterns and insecurities, purifying any sufferings, all in order to rediscover an elevated relationship with money and resource. This includes your self worth and value and even your relationship with your body. The coming years may also bring a time to examine and reconcile deep resentments of not being taken care of … by the world, by the divine. For a few, Neptune will bring a higher calling, to share what you have, to be materially generous and altruistic. After all, we can’t take it with us.
