Happy Leo Full Moon! This is the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on passion, creativity, self expression, and romance. Ruled by the Sun, Leo is a sign that invites us to shine and to honor the fire or spark within. The full moon is exact on February 9, 2020 at 2:33 am EST, 20 degrees Leo/Aquarius. That’s 11:33 pm Los Angeles on February 8, 7:33 am London on February 9, 6:33 pm Sydney, and 8:33 pm Auckland.

If new moons are new beginnings or chapters, then full moons are the dramatic arc that puts the plot firmly into focus. Full moons demand our attention. They can stir up feelings or coincide with events that need action. Something is in the spotlight that we cannot ignore.

A couple of years ago, when we were having eclipses in Leo, there was an intuitive message that repeatedly kept coming through for clients from Spirit, which was that life was meant to be fun and that without joy and passion, nothing flows. We can’t create something new for ourselves without fire. Without the Sun, there’s no life. It was a reminder just how important it is to nurture this fire.

With so many planets in Capricorn over the past few months, a sign that’s the antithesis of fire and light, it’s possible that we lost that spark in December and January, or it became diminished at the very least. Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn has been hard energy in all honesty. And so this full moon is a reminder to get back to what brings us joy, fuels that fire, and allows us to express who we are. Make that a priority.

What are your talents? What is it that only you can do, create, or put your spin on? For example, anyone can follow a recipe, but what distinguishes the end result are those who are able to put themselves into the ingredients. That’s where the magic and alchemy happens.

In the chart of the full moon we see a bold, adventurous Mars in Sagittarius bringing in support to the Leo Full Moon. As a result, we may be taking a risk in the days around the full moon or even striking out and taking action. Although out of orb, Venus in Aries adds more fire to the full moon and some of that risk and action may take place in relationships.

At the end of the day, Saturn is still in Capricorn and still the boss of the sky. We still have to be grounded, responsible, and accountable. If you’re feeling especially creative and bold around this full moon, how can you bring your ideas and vision into reality?

Lastly, it’s a full moon to be yourself. As cheesy as that may sound, it’s something that we can’t lose sight of.
