Jupiter, the planet that opens up our eyes to the world, that inspires us to find a sense of mission and purpose, arrives in Taurus for a year-long stay. Here it will inspire us to create material and financial stability, to enjoy the pleasures of the world.
Wherever Jupiter is we typically want “more” of that sign. And what is Taurus? As the first earth sign, it puts us back in touch with the ground beneath our feet. And while Jupiter is more at home in a sign that sparks intellectual debate and deeper soul searching, Jupiter in Taurus emphasizes the material world — food, money, resources, fertility, agriculture, rebirth, and the senses. We want more refinement and comfort, wealth and investments.
While Jupiter’s in Taurus, however, it shares space with Uranus in Taurus, ultimately meeting up with the planet to form a conjunction in April 2024. If you recall, Uranus has been in Taurus since 2018, 2019, turning things up and down and inside out in the sign. Our material world hasn’t been so stable over the past few years. But on the other hand, Uranus has pushed us to make sometimes necessary or radical changes. Our lives may have even blossomed in unexpected ways.
That said, will Jupiter make “bigger” the changes already set in motion, especially the Taurus eclipses of November 2021, April 2022, and November 2022. Will it shake up our material world even more? Will we have a different philosophy about money and spending? Will it inspire us to make further necessary or radical changes?
We have a year to find out.

Sign by Sign
Aries and Aries Rising — Money, income, material needs, material stability. Jupiter activates a larger story that’s been playing out the past few years, a push to reinvent or transform your relationship with money and income. This transit will mean different things for different people. For some, it’s a need to make big investments such as the purchase of property or a home, a need to gather resources to create more material stability. For some, it’s a financial breakthrough as something new comes in or you’re able to see things differently. For others, it may exacerbate already existing instabilities or fluctuations. You may have to finally listen to Uranus and do something radically different when it comes to money, income, and spending.
Taurus and Taurus Rising — The self, new beginnings, new initiatives, personal growth. Jupiter brings its energies of renewal to your sign. It’s both the end of a long journey and the start of a new one. It’s the confidence to strike out in a new direction. (The last time Jupiter was in Taurus was June 2011 to June 2012.) What we need to watch is Uranus in Taurus as Jupiter activates and perhaps makes larger a story of change that’s been with you since 2018, 2019. Sometimes Taurus can be slow to move forward. It may be that you no longer have that luxury or the old fears and insecurities are no longer there. Be bold.
Gemini and Gemini Rising — Inner wisdom, spirituality, retreat, existential search. Jupiter brings you to the end of a long voyage, one that began way back in 2013. Here it’s time to pull back, reflect, and go within. What worked or didn’t work over the last decade? What lessons were learned? You’ll be in a philosophical mood, one that promotes spirituality and inner exploration, matters of faith and even mysticism. As a major player in your astrology (Jupiter is your relationship and career planet) it may be a time to let things go or to make sure key areas of your life are aligned with your spiritual values. For some, the coming year may bring awakenings and revelations.
Cancer and Cancer Rising — Community, friendships, social causes, ideals. Jupiter brings you out into the world, inspiring you to get involved in your community, to give back through social issues and causes. Jupiter also activates a story around friendship and connection that’s been with you since 2018, 2019. Perhaps you’ve seen big changes to your social circle. Maybe new people have come into your life who have shaken your point of view or gotten you to see the world differently. Jupiter typically brings growth, but it can also magnify something pre-existing. Use Jupiter to find renewed connection and a sense of placement in the world.
Leo and Leo Rising — Career, professional growth, ambitions. Jupiter brings you to the highest reaches of your career and ambitions, opening doors, and giving you the confidence to grow your professional life. This may be a year that brings a promotion or job change. But it’s important to remember that while Jupiter can open doors, it can also give us the faith to leave a toxic or limiting situation. Another thing to remember is that, since 2018 and 2019, Uranus has been in Taurus, your career sign. For some Leos this has paralleled a period of ups and downs professionally. For others, the push to leave a career or industry, to reinvent, or to have a professional breakthrough. Look to the themes that have been in your career the last few years. Jupiter may capitalize on these changes, push you to make further ones, or ignite something that has been waiting for the right moment.
Virgo and Virgo Rising — Faith, meaning, travel, education, law. After doing a fair bit of soul searching over the last year, Jupiter brings you into a space to try to make sense of things. What do you believe in? What do you stand for? What do you think is true? What’s your relationship with faith? The coming year will be a philosophical one as well as a search for meaning, whether that means finding meaning through education or journeys abroad. You may feel inspired to go back to school or see the world. Keep in mind that Jupiter will share the same space as Uranus, a planet that has been shaking up your world as well as how you see it since 2018 and 2019. Prepare for further awakenings.
Libra and Libra Rising — Inner work, the deep self, assets, wealth. Jupiter will inspire you to go inward, to search the deepest parts of yourself, to explore themes around intimacy, vulnerability, and emotional connection. Unlike the hard edge of other planets, Jupiter brings optimism to even the roughest roads. If your faith has been flagging or if you’ve been feeling emotionally burnt out, Jupiter can bring a sense of renewal. This is also a time when money and assets, finance and wealth may factor in, using Jupiter to take major steps towards creating material stability for the future. For some, Jupiter may increase spending, making existing debts larger. For others, there may be a windfall or access to assets that they previously didn’t have access to. Keep in mind that Jupiter adds to or even enlarges a story that’s been with you since 2018, 2019 when Uranus entered Taurus.
Scorpio and Scorpio Rising — Relationships, other people, connection. Over the coming year Jupiter brings new opportunities to relationships, whether this means new people coming into your life or a period of growth and exploration with an existing relationship. For some, it may feel like a rebirth in a partnership. For others, Jupiter may give you the confidence to leave a relationship, especially if you’ve previously held onto in spite of its limitations or even toxic qualities. Keep in mind that Jupiter activates, gives life to, or even expands an existing story about relationship that has been with you since 2018, 2019, when Uranus arrived in Taurus. If this five year period has been about reinventing and shaking up relationships, the question is, how will Jupiter be an influence? Perhaps it’s the faith to make bigger reinventions or to bring the person (or people) into your life who will help you to break free.
Sagittarius and Sagittarius Rising — Health, fitness, work, projects, service. Since Jupiter is what’s called your ruling planet, this is a major change of hour in your life, one that happens every year as Jupiter travels the zodiac. You conclude a chapter that began in May 2022 and begin another, one that will take you into May 2024. During this time, Jupiter will inspire you to focus on your health and wellness, making positive changes or taking healthy steps with diet, fitness, and nutrition. For some, this is a time of taking personal philosophies and instilling them into day to day practices and rituals. For others, it’s a time to get organized, to make sure life is running smoothly, to take on projects as well as service to others. Note that Jupiter joins Uranus in Taurus, a planet that has been shaking things up in the health and wellness department since 2018 and 2019. Your experience with Jupiter has to be taken into context of what has been happening with health and wellness over the last five years. Jupiter may make the changes already put into place much bigger or bring a larger story into full view.
Capricorn and Capricorn Rising — Creativity, self expression, identity, talent, children. Jupiter helps you to return to the spark of life, making time or investing into anything that fosters passion, creativity, and talent. For some, it’s about a return to life or a return to anything that brings renewal. Use Jupiter to have the confidence to be yourself. Or get involved in a passion project, one that is more than just a hobby. For a small few, this is a time to focus on children and to welcome pregnancy. Keep in mind that Uranus has been in Taurus since 2018, 2019, and Jupiter’s arrival gives life to a larger story about the reinvention of self. It’s important to reflect on how you’ve changed over the last five years. Find your real voice and have the courage to express it.
Aquarius and Aquarius Rising — Home, family, roots, foundation. Jupiter brings you home, ushering in a period that can naturally announce a move or a change in the household. People move in or, in some cases, people move out. Regardless, the coming year is about putting down roots or making sure existing roots are well nourished and cared for. For a small few, a change in the household may announce a pregnancy or birth of a child. For others, it’s time to make time for family or those who are like family, to feel a sense of nostalgia and comfort. That said, we can’t look at Jupiter without looking at Uranus, which has been in Taurus since 2018, 2019. Note how much your home environment or family has changed in the last five years. Jupiter may liberate you from something holding you back or give life to existing shake ups.
Pisces and Pisces Rising — Voice, communication, the mind, learning, education, choices. Jupiter will inspire the mind over the coming year, bringing new opportunities in education or to explore writing, speaking, and communication. Typically Jupiter has a lot to say when it’s in this space, freely dispensing wisdom and knowledge as opinions. Seeing how Jupiter is your planet, its arrival in Taurus marks a major change in your personal direction and expression over the following days and weeks, a time to reconnect with a larger story that’s been with you since 2018, 2019 when Uranus arrived in Taurus. The coming year may be a period of new ideas, radical reinterpretations, and choices that upend the status quo. Since Jupiter is also your career planet, it may be a busy year, one that brings new opportunities to speak and teach, or a period to rethink aspects of your professional life and direction.
