After a tumultuous July (and frankly May and June were no picnic either), it seems like we get a breath of fresh air with this full moon. A Grand Air Trine steps forward with the Sun, Jupiter, and Mars in the social signs of Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra. In keeping with Aquarius’s humanitarian, group consciousness, this can be an auspicious time to make new connections, go out with friends, talk, relate, and exchange ideas. (Note that the full moon is exact at 11:27 EDT on August 1st 2012. The chart above is set for New York City.)
That said, there is a theme of identity with this full moon. Leo is the sign of the individual. Aquarius is the group. Who are you? Where do you belong? Are you part of the in crowd or forever outside looking in? Mercury retrograde in Leo is all about taking stock of the self and the ego. I’m beginning to wonder if Mercury Rx serves to give us mini karmic check-ins and reviews three times a year. How have you been using your will? For the greater good? How have you been expressing your authentic self? Or have you been hiding your light?
Another thing worth mentioning is the two Yods in the full moon configuration. They are the green dotted lines that form an elongated isosceles triangle that points to a focal planet. Yods are also known as the Finger of God aspect and I feel them as an imperative from the Universe. Pluto in Capricorn as the focal point? Transform your structures using the power of the Sun and Jupiter! Sun in Leo as the focal point? Clear out any illusions of self and ego using the power of Pluto and Chiron! As with everything lately, there’s tremendous healing potential if we just consciously tap into it.
The Saturn Trines in this chart, especially Venus Trine Saturn, just give this a feeling of much needed grounding and stability. With energy ricocheting about over the last two months, it’s nice to feel some solid ground.
The Uranus/Pluto square is still in play, but for once it’s not dominating the new and full moon cycles like it has of late — even with Mars approaching a heavy conjunction to Saturn, which will be exact on 8/15/2012. We’re gearing up for a huge review of two years worth of Saturn in Libra lessons. More on that as we get further into August.
