As a Scorpio, I gotta admit that the run up to today’s conjunction of Mars and Pluto felt like every cell of my body was going through a meat grinder. (Apologizes to anyone I nearly eviscerated yesterday.) After all, Mars is the ruling planet of Scorpio. Can’t forget that Mars rules Aries, too. As a result, these two signs are likely feeling the primordial intensity of Mars + Pluto times ten.
But what does this mean for the rest of us? If Mars is passion, action, fire, and the spark of life itself, then Pluto is power, a force of nature. It bends, it pulls, it explodes, it reveals. It kills, it resurrects. It’s a volcanic eruption. It’s fire into stone. It is the magic needed to transmute one substance into another.
Mars and Pluto are also rendezvousing in Capricorn, highlighting Pluto’s near eight year long journey in the sign of worldly ambition, power, leadership, and the highs and lows of the material world. Pluto acts like a mirror, showing us the unseen, the underside of everything it casts its gaze upon. (It’s certainly been showing us the underbelly of Capricorn over the years.) Pluto also reveals what needs to change, what we need to let go of — our shame, our rage, all the things stuck in the hidden corners of our psyche.
So you may feel something stir deep in side of you, a force that draws a line in your life between life and death, one state over another. If you need to change something, use Pluto’s energy to change it for good.
As an aside, I’ve noticed that people who have natal Mars in aspect to Pluto have to do some sort of physical activity to transmute. With that in mind, we may all need more physical activity this week.
