We’re feeling our way through a strong Neptune current this week. Between Mercury’s square off with Neptune on Friday and Neptune’s direct turn on Saturday, we may be questioning everything — reality, existence, our capacity to empathize.
What is Neptune? Although Neptune has a well deserved reputation for distortion, it’s a force that blurs the borders of reality. Neptune is illusions, photography, movies, anesthesia. It’s also mysticism, channeling, saint-like acts of compassion, forgiveness, and redemption.
Neptune ultimately serves to remind us that there is something beyond this physical world we live in. You can’t quantify Neptune. It sneaks up on us like a dream and makes us connect to the universal of humanity and creation.
Along with outer planets Uranus and Pluto, Neptune is an agent of consciousness and evolution. All three of these planets serve to take us out of the ego, out of the mundane. With Neptune, our suffering and loss is not just ours. Neptune helps us see ourselves in others and rediscover the thread that connects us all.
With all this Neptune running through the collective, we may be feeling overly sensitive. Neptune can range from despair, grief, and loss to peace and spiritual ecstasy — a big swing. That said, we can’t do ego with Neptune. We have to step outside of ourselves, we have to meditate, we have to see ourselves in all of creation.
Most importantly, make sure you’re not doing low Neptune this week. The lower expression of Neptune wants to cut out, escape, lose consciousness through substance and sleep.
