Venus arrives in Sagittarius, a sign that helps Venus cultivate a love of travel and exploration as well as freedom and justice. As a result, we may have our eyes on distant lands and exotic destinations. With Jupiter in Taurus, its pleasure and the good life, too.
Classically speaking, Venus in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Taurus is what’s called a “mutual reception”; they are in each other’s signs. Venus rules Taurus … Jupiter rules Sagittarius. The conventional wisdom is that they give strength to each other and it is as if Jupiter is in Sagittarius and Venus is in Taurus.
What this means for us is that we may feel a desire to enjoy life’s physical pursuits, even overindulge into the new. year. Jupiter can dream big when it’s in Sagittarius. But it can also evoke strong opinions and rigid points of view. It’s possible that we may feel a push to look outside of ourselves, contemplating faith and philosophy and education.
That said, Venus is the driver of recent eclipses in Libra and Taurus on October 14 and 28. With Venus in Sagittarius, it will make a square to Saturn into next week, a hard energy that demands that we get clear about something — a commitment, a relationship, an investment, a belief. Events from October may get a reality check.
Related to the eclipses, Jupiter will turn direct on Saturday, December 30 at 5 degrees Taurus. If you recall, the eclipse on October 28 was at 5 degrees. Look for a link, especially if you have major placements at 5 degrees Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Leo. What is shifting? Changing? Coming up for review.
