Welcome to Taurus Season. The Sun arrives in the second sign of the zodiac, a sign governed by Venus, which evokes the pleasures of life. It’s a sign to slow down and enjoy, to find our footing, to focus on our material resources, to invest in the things that are important.
Taurus is an earth sign, the first of three earth signs in the zodiac. It speaks to the basics we all need as humans — food, shelter, and stability. As a result, we will be looking at our material lives over the next four weeks. With Venus in Aries, at least for the next week or so, we may be feeling a drive or an initiative to go after what we want. Venus in Aries is more of a hunter than a gatherer.
That said, there’s been some interesting comings and goings in Taurus over the last five, six years. If you recall, Uranus has been in Taurus since then, a strange combination of energies that hints that the last few years have been more unstable than stable.
As I wrote way back in 2019, Uranus in Taurus is a shift if not a seismic shift of the earth beneath our feet. The lives we had in 2019 largely don’t exist anymore. This is one of those reminders that we don’t have to have a planet in Taurus to feel its effects. Taurus governs the very fundamentals of life. Uranus has completely upended things. Starting next year, Uranus will make its first dip in Gemini from July to November 2025 — a conversation for another time. But before it does it’s beginning to wrap up a story of transformation that began way back in 2018, 2019.
Keep this in mind as Jupiter conjuncts Uranus in Taurus this weekend, a rare alignment that only happens every 13-14 years. Jupiter inspires and wants us to make our world bigger. Uranus is the radical. The two can be a force, a flash of light, an awakening, a breakthrough, a push to get unstuck. We will have to see.
