Welcome to the Aries Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on taking action, moving forward, and going after our desires. Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is the sign of new beginnings. It’s a full moon to start a new chapter. The full moon is exact at 5:57 am ET, September 29, 2023 at 6 degrees Aries-Libra. That’s 2:57 am Los Angeles, 10:57 am London, 11:57 am Johannesburg, 7:57 pm Sydney, and 9:57 pm Auckland.
Full moons are decision points. They rally us to action. They bring events. They can turn life in a different direction. This full moon comes in advance of a solar eclipse, a Libra eclipse on October 14. Although not an eclipse, this full moon acts as a herald, a signal that something is about to change. As a result, there’s tension and anticipation.
Eclipses happen every six months. They are a moment when the energies of time bend and open us to a new chapter. People come in and out of our lives. The story gets interesting. And, the funny thing about eclipses is that we can experience their portal-like energies before the eclipse. Sometimes they need a trigger. Enter this full moon.
Aries is all about courage and bravery — the courage and bravery to move forward, to stand up for what we believe in, to take a leap, to strike out on our own, to lead the way. Pay attention to the story that is happening in your life right now. Are you being called to be courageous? To strike out? To take that first step into the unknown?
With Mars, the ruler of the full moon, in Libra and on the same degree as the October 14 solar eclipse, we may see the doors of fate opening this week. But there’s also an emphasis on relationships with this full moon, whether it’s with our primary relationships or relationships on a broader level. It’s really a call to examine how to connect to others and, in some cases, have the courage to leave a relationship or even go after what we truly desire.
That said, there’s a lot of provocative energy with this full moon. It may demand, push, inspire, or even challenge. With Venus in Leo making an exact square to Uranus, we may find that any provocations come from a need to be ourselves or be free, whatever the cost.
Let’s not forget that Mars squares Pluto in the chart of the full moon. Whatever new beginnings we feel stirring, get ready to move mountains and know that we have the power to do so.
