Welcome to April! Welcome to Aries Season. It’s a time of fresh starts and new beginnings as we begin another astrological year. With Mars in Gemini this season, we’re on the go, seeking and exploring and finding new things to get curious about.
Mercury moves into Aries on April 4, which means that life will start to move more quickly. After all, Mercury brings fire to Mars in Gemini’s element air. And air and fire brings heat and can spread rapidly. Our ideas will burn bright. Our thoughts as well as our actions will be fast. We just have to take care not to move or make choices so impulsively.
Then on April 11 an Aries New Moon gives us a reset for the season. It’s also a time to set intentions to start something new, to take action, and make swift choices. But with the new moon in a square to Pluto in Capricorn, we’re likely at a crossroads mid-month, needing to tear down something old so we can start something new.
By April 14 Venus moves to Taurus followed by the Sun and Mercury on April 19. It’s officially Taurus Season! If Aries liked to move fast, then Taurus invites us to slow down and enjoy life, from simple pleasures and creature comforts to food, money, and the security that comes with feeling like our feet are on solid ground again.
The thing about this Taurus Season is that it plugs into a story that’s been with us since May 2018 and March 2019 when Uranus first arrived in Taurus, kicking off a seven year story of shaking up our relationship with money, stability, security, and value. So, while Taurus Season would like to take it slow, Uranus has other ideas. We can’t take things for grated anymore. We have to continue to reinvent, transform, and breakthrough old patterns. For some people, especially Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, the second half of this month may bring big — and for some, unexpected — shifts.
The Scorpio Full Moon on April 26 in particular puts a highlight on our Uranus in Taurus story, one that began three years ago. (Read more in Uranus in Taurus: Sign by Sign.) It’s pushing us to breakout, breakthrough, and get out of our own way. It’s also digging into deeper emotional themes around security and trust, intimacy and vulnerability. Are we safe to make the changes that we need to change? Perhaps the full moon gives us a push.
Finally, Pluto turns retrograde on April 27 at 26 Capricorn, another turn of a page in a much longer story of breaking down old structures, boundaries, and facing the darker parts of ourselves. Keep an eye out for themes around power and control, transformation and rebirth.

your site is no longer useful for me as I am hearing impaired. Waiting all month to read the transcript just doesn’t work. So I suppose this will be my past visit. I sure did enjoy while it lasted.
The videos here, which are via YouTube, are closed captioned for those who are hard of hearing. Although it is my goal to create separate transcripts, unfortunately they take extra time and money to create. At the moment I am still integrating this process into my workflow.
