Saturn’s calling the shots this week. The planet of responsibility and maturity turns retrograde at 20 Capricorn. Retrogrades don’t mean we’re turning our back on responsibility. Instead, we need to seriously reflect on our choices and reevaluate next steps.

Saturn’s been in Capricorn since the very end of 2017 and won’t leave until the end of 2020. During its time in Capricorn, we’re having to set new standards for excellence in our lives as well as hold ourselves accountable for our lives, our decisions, and what we’ve been building as adults.

This week is a big check in on our progress. Which is to say, it’s as if we have a meeting with the parent, the teacher, the cop — choose your metaphor — to get feed back on our progress. And our progress on what? There’s a particular part of our lives that needs extra attention and work while Saturn’s in Capricorn. (Not sure where? Check out my Saturn in Capricorn: Sign by Sign guide.)

Wherever this part of our life is, we’re getting feedback on where we can do better … or we’re getting a pat on the back. This may be about our finances or our career or even relationships. The retrograde, which will last until September 18, is a four month period to make adjustments and do our homework. Then, come September, we have the next big check-in with Saturn.
