Mars’s square to Pluto continues to reverberate through our experiences today, two forces that when combined can move mountains. It’s a day to remake and reforge, to clear a path for new futures. A cycle that began in late January begins to take shape.
Astrology is powered by different planetary cycles that cross and weave a larger story. The cycle of Mars and Pluto is roughly two years long. And we began a new cycle with Mars and Pluto on January 27 at 3 Aquarius. The image that Mars and Pluto evoke is that of an ironworker’s forge, shaping hot metal into something new.
Mars and Pluto speak to a cycle of transformation, one where we will need to reshape or reforge a particular part of our lives. Since Pluto is in Aquarius for many years to come, this cycle will play out in the part of our lives that Aquarius governs. (Read Pluto in Aquarius: Sign by Sign for a reminder where)
Today’s square is a checkpoint in this process of transformation, one that will be felt throughout the week — especially when the Moon arrives in Scorpio on May 27-28. (Note the opposition, another checkpoint, will be on October 3, 2026.)
In the meantime, a Libra Moon keeps things moving. With Venus in Cancer, we’re focused on family and loved ones, the past and memories, as well as what we value and invest in. Venus will make a square to Saturn into May 28. Time for a serious decision or commitment.
If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for May 27, 2026.
