Mars trades Capricorn for Aquarius, joining the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Pluto in Aquarius. If Mars shows us what our priorities are and where we need to take action, for the next six weeks we’re focused on community and social connection, society and humanity.
Aquarius is a lot of things. But as the 11th sign of the zodiac and the final air sign, it takes the physical structures of Capricorn and creates movement and connection. Capricorn is the proverbial bones. Aquarius wraps around like a living tissue. It’s the social bonds that build community and connect us to society. Without Aquarius, we wouldn’t have the fabric that holds everything together. That’s why we have idioms, at least in English, about the social fabric or the fabric of a nation.
Aquarius zooms us out. We’re far from the signs of the zodiac that are about our personal lives. Aquarius is the collective. It’s humanity and all the issues that are interwoven into it.
This is why during Aquarius Season we turn outward. We contemplate social issues and causes. We hope and dream for a better future. But we can also feel the loneliness of not having community and the support of friends. We try to figure out how to bring all the threads together, tending to our own personal fabric, the weaving and tapestry of our lives.
That said, Mars will activate a key area of our lives for the next six weeks, until March 2, when it enters Pisces. What will Mars in Aquarius mean for you? Read my sign-by-sign guide.
Mars will also begin to activate the energies of the February 17 solar eclipse to come at 28 Aquarius, which means that life may get a little more intense over the next few weeks in advance of the eclipse. Doors are opening and closing. New futures prepare to reveal themselves.
