Coming off of some tense astrology, a Scorpio Moon digs into emotions, getting into themes around community, connection, and the future. With Mars and Jupiter still in opposition, conversations may pack a punch. Sun square Chiron picks at an old wound.
Chiron is a newer addition to astrology. Discovered in 1977, it is an asteroid that I have learned to pay attention to. Chiron doesn’t work on the same level as the traditional planets, your Venus, Mars, Saturn, etc., but it reveals a deeper emotional and spiritual work we are doing around healing.
We all have something that hits a nerve, even if we’re not quite sure why, something that pulls at a chord that pulls into the psyche, if not the soul. With the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Mars square Chiron in Aries, the emotions that we may be feeling this week go deep — perhaps childhood, ancestry, or even past lives. (Read On Chiron, Suffering, and Knots.)
Chiron in Aries may be asking us … Do we have the courage to take action? To stand up for ourselves? Do we have the bravery to move on? To take the lead? (Read Chiron in Aries: The Wounds of War.)
Chiron is both a pain point, but it is also a key. It says that real healing comes when we take the things that have made us suffer the most and use it like medicine to help and inspire others.
That said, we are winding down the lunar month this week, one that began with the Sagittarius New Moon on December 19. As a result, the coming days will bring us more into a phase of reflection and inner search. The Capricorn New Moon on January 18 will be a reset for the New Year and a new moon to take advantage of Capricorn’s talent for concrete action and setting new goals and structures for the future.
Speaking of winding down, Saturn has four more weeks left in Pisces. This is a big deal because Saturn will show us what our new priorities are when Saturn arrives in Aries on February 13. Saturn is always where we need to do our work, all to reach the higher levels of our lives.
