Last day of 2025. We end it with a curious Gemini Moon, one that wants to travel and explore, to try to things, to connect and socialize. With Mercury square Saturn and Neptune, we may be in a reflective mood, searching for greater answers as we ring in the New Year.
Astrology doesn’t measure time in the way we do with our calendrical year. The astrological New Year, for example, is three months from now. Astrological months are also attuned to the lunar calendar. Larger astrological cycles are measured by Saturn.
2025 was a year that had its roots in 2023, specifically March 2023 when Saturn arrived in Pisces. In many ways 2025 brought us to the culmination of stories that began two years before and began to show us something new as Saturn made a preview of Aries from May 24 to September 1.
The seeds of new beginnings were also planted in 2025. Neptune made its first steps into Aries from March 30 to October 22. And Uranus in Gemini from July 7 to November 7.
These new beginnings will come more sharply into focus when Saturn arrives in Aries on February 13. You could argue that February will feel more like the start of the year than January as Saturn begins a new cycle just before a powerful Aquarius solar eclipse on February 17.
In the meantime, we ring in the New Year with one foot still in the past. Use the coming days to clear out, clean up, and to create space for the new beginnings to come in 2026.
