Welcome to Sag Season. The Sun arrives in the 9th sign of the zodiac, moving from the shadows and introspection of Scorpio for the light of Sagittarius. We’ve also stepped into the last stage of the zodiac, a stage that takes us out of the personal and into the world.
As I’ve been sharing of late, the zodiac is a ladder, a step or a rung that helps us to find our evolution, to open up to the fullness of life and all it has to offer. Scorpio Season and its rung is always a perilous step that requires a lot of soul searching before we are ready to step up.
Sagittarius, the 9th sign, represents the fruit of our time in Scorpio, the 8th sign. If Sagittarius is the sign of wisdom and knowledge, we must first go through Scorpio and the experiences as well as the emotional transformation that helps to foster wisdom.
Ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius is a fire sign. It inspires and motivates us, initiating new beginnings and even new discoveries. If the fire of Aries is the fire of the first rush of life and the fire of Leo is the fire of creation and self expression, then the fire of Sagittarius is the fire of the stars. We look up to the sky, the ribbon of the Milky Way forms a path back “home” to the center of our galaxy (Sagittarius A*),
This Sag Season, we can find Jupiter in Cancer, a sign that brings the cosmic energies of Sag back home. As a result, we may be looking to spend more time with family, or put down roots, or find those like family who share a common goal or vision. (Read Jupiter in Cancer: Sign by Sign)
We still have one foot in Scorpio. Yesterday’s Scorpio New Moon at 28 degrees will set the tone for the next four weeks. With an opposition between the Sun-Mercury and Uranus, we may be in for a dynamic, unpredictable, and transformative second half of November and into December. A Uranus opposition demands evolution. Are we ready to take that leap?
