Mercury is retrograde at 6 Sagittarius, the start of a rewind that will take us back to Scorpio and back to themes, conversations, and decisions from late October and into November. In particular, we will need to reevaluate our beliefs and how we see the world.
Any time a planet turns retrograde — and just a reminder, all planets turn retrograde, except for the Sun and Moon — it’s a shift in the energy of the planet, switching from active-yang to receptive-yin.
To rewind is to go to the past. It evokes a time of reflection, especially along the themes and archetypes of the planet in question. And Mercury Retrograde is a second look at how we think, listen, and learn. More importantly, how we make choices.
The beauty of Mercury as a planet is that it give us the ability to move, have curiosity, and to perceive and communicate with our environment. Creation, after all, is diversity. It’s to have many options and choices. However, are we making the right choices?
The next three weeks, until November 29, retraces our choices from a period that covers late October and into the first week of November. We will benefit from a second look as well as a different perspective.
True, Mercury Retrograde can be a time when something needs time to play out. Meaning, we’re waiting for an answer or resolution, but it may not come until early December.
Despite Mercury Retrograde’s pop culture reputation, it isn’t a time to put everything on hold for three weeks out of fear of making the wrong choice. Life goes on. We just can’t forget that Mercury Retrograde is a yin phase and an excellent time to cultivate our intuition, which includes listening to our heart or our gut. Provided we slow down and get quiet enough to listen.
