Saturn turns direct in Capricorn. It’s an important day to check in with our goals and ambitions. After all, Saturn sets a high bar for us and there are certain times of the year, like today, when we have to step up and be accountable for our actions.

Every planet plays a role in astrology, reflecting back to us important or even mundane facets of life. Some planets, like the Moon, move quickly, weaving in and out of zodiac sign every couple of days and changing the tempo or vibe just as frequently. Saturn, however, spends up to three years in one sign and takes 29 years to complete one trip around the zodiac.

Because Saturn moves so slowly, like a larger hand on the clock taking longer to change the hour, its movements have a bigger impact. Saturn is the planet that teaches us about growing up and growing older. It wants us to honor our word and our commitments. It wants us to make something of ourselves and work on our lessons. It has a very black and white view of the world and thus we’re feeling that sharp contrast today.

So, we have an appointment with Saturn today. And during this appointment we’re going to go down the checklist of everything we said we would be working on and getting feedback on our progress. If you’re feeling anxious, nervous, or the weight of time and responsibility, it’s normal. If you feel like there’s room for improvement with something in your life, how will you make a new action plan, one that Saturn will hold you accountable?

October will be another big check in with Saturn as both the Sun and Mars round out a square to Saturn in Capricorn. Then, in January, when Sun meets up with Saturn and Pluto, plus a Capricorn Full Moon lunar eclipse on January 10, 2020, we’ve got yet another appointment. With that in mind, what’s your game plan for the next four months? Be ambitious. Saturn loves ambition, dedication, commitment, and hard work.
