Welcome to September! It’s officially Virgo Season, the time in the zodiac calendar when we turn our attention to real life, from the food we eat to stay healthy to the tasks that ensure our daily lives run efficiently. Virgo is the nurse, the teacher, the servant, the cleaner. It’s a sign that reconnects us with the art of management because without Virgo’s careful eye, everything would fall apart.

If you’re in the northern hemisphere, it’s time for the harvest. We gather, sort, plan, and anticipate for the winter to come. After all, Virgo is the image of the maiden carrying a sheaf of wheat. Even if you aren’t in the northern hemisphere, it’s a time to naturally connect with this energy and to look at what you’ve been growing over the previous six months. The seeds you planted are ready for harvest.

We start the month with Saturn finally turning direct in Capricorn on September 6 after five months of retrograde. This a big check in with our Saturn work, particularly the area of our life that we need more scrutiny and accountability over. (Not sure where Saturn is in your chart? Check out my Saturn in Capricorn: Sign by Sign guide.) It may be money, it may be relationships. Wherever it is, you’re feeling a bit of pressure as you step into the month, as if Saturn is taking a critical work to your homework.

Then on September 9 we have a Virgo New Moon at 17 degrees, which really kicks us into Virgo Season more deeply. Time to get real about life, time to get organized and clean out. Virgo loves things to be clean and it loves when we take care of our bodies. So this is a natural time of year to recommit to your health as well as recommit to a to-do list that maybe languished during July and August.

But the new moon activates a face off with Neptune, which says that over the coming weeks, as much as it is about our physical health or the physical world, we have to tend to our spiritual health and our spiritual world. Neptune has a tendency to bring up strong emotions or sensitivities, too, so we may be navigating our feelings into the end of September.

Also on September 9, Venus will arrive in Scorpio, a sign that it will be visiting until the of October. Normally Venus makes it through a sign in four or five weeks. But Venus will be spending an extra amount in Scorpio, turning retrograde on October 5. This means that over the coming weeks we’re getting ready to dig into some deep themes around love and power, relationship and control. True, Venus in Scorpio has a sexy, magnetic reputation, but it also shows us that love has shadows. And we’re going to be digging into those shadows into the rest of the year so we can shine a light on the dark.

The day after the new moon, on September 10, Mars will go back into Aquarius. If you’ve been paying attention to your astrology you’ll know that Mars was in Aquarius from May until August coinciding with Mars Retrograde, which meant that we had to take a second look at how we interact with our communities, our friends, with each other. Hopefully Mars Retrograde gave us the insights as well as the second look at this part of our lives. Now that Mars is back in Aquarius, time to implement changes based on what we’ve realized.

The full moon on September 24 at 4 degrees Aries will underline this need for change. In fact, it will pick up on a tense square off between Mars and Uranus that has been playing out the past couple of months. it’s possible that we’ve been wanting to make big changes, but between Mercury, Mars, and Saturn Retrograde the past few months, we haven’t been able to quite move forward. The Aries full moon may finally give us the fire and motivation we need.

Speaking of retrogrades, on September 25 Chiron goes back into Pisces. This is a more subtle influence, but it’s one that we were working through from 2010 to just this past April. When Chiron was in Pisces, we were working on deep emotional, existential, and spiritual knots. We were trying to tap into our deepest healing. Now were back into Pisces vast cosmic waters until February 2019.

Lastly, Pluto turns direct in Capricorn on September 30. This is more of a heads up if anything. We’ve been tearing down and rebuilding a particular part of our life sine 2008. September merely continues the story. (Not sure what part of your life you’ve been rebuilding? Check out my Pluto in Capricorn: Sign by Sign guide.)

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

Alright, Aries. It’s hustle time. Not only is Mars, your ruling planet, out of retrograde, but a lot of the action this month is focused on work and career. (Wait, aren’t those two things the same? No, work is what you do to get things done. Career is what that work is achieving in the greater sense of things.) Anyway … September is about real life, from the daily grind to the direction you are steering your life towards and the role you want to play in the world. To give you some context, let’s first focus on the planet Saturn. It’s been in your career sign of Capricorn since December. You’ve basically been on notice by Saturn since then to figure your stuff out. And by stuff I mean “what do I want to be when I grow up?”, “how do I want to make a living?”, “how can I be better about handing responsibility?” I know, not super fun, but that’s real life. So when Saturn turns direct on September 6 after spending the last five months retrograde, pay attention to what’s happening around career at that time. Are you looking to make a job change? Take the next step up professionally? Or finally get clear about what you want your career to be? Let’s not forget that it’s Virgo Season, a time to get organized, tick items off your to-do list, and get a handle on your daily life. A Virgo New Moon on September 9 will put this part of your life into focus. In fact, if you have any projects or personal initiatives that you want to begin, start them on or just after the new moon. A strong connection to Pluto will give you a lot of power and determination to not only move forward, but to make a lasting change. The Virgo New Moon also touches on health, from taking care of your body through diet and exercise to the routine doctors’ appointments and checkups. So you can also use the new moon to make a powerful and lasting health resolution, ones that will set you in a new direction. It’s also important to mention that the new moon faces off with Neptune. As much as your physical health needs tending to, your emotional and spiritual health is part of the mix, too. The next day, on September 9, Mars moves into Aquarius, a sign that you got quite familiar with from June until August. Time to tie up loose ends with friends and take care of issues that touch on the groups you belong to and the community that you’re a part of. (Note that Mars will activate the July 27 lunar eclipse at the end of September, so whatever issue that’s been percolating with a friend or in your community may come to the surface then.) If you’re feeling restless around the middle of the month, just know that Mars, your planet, is making a testy square off with Uranus. You may be looking to make an impulsive change or break. Make sure you stay grounded around this time. Don’t rush because Mars and Uranus don’t always think things through and can be a little accident prone. Remember, you’re under a lot of pressure from Saturn this month. You need a plan and you need to stick to the plan. The September 24 Aries Full Moon will not only drive this point home, but it will put you in the spotlight. Have you been working hard? Showing Saturn that you can handle responsibility? Or have you been self sabotaging a little? The full moon may bring a reward for hard work, but it will also be a serious check in with your future, your ambitions, and how you’re holding yourself up to integrity. No shortcuts this month, Aries. Want to learn more about how the astrology of September will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

You made it past the eclipse season. Phew! That said, It’s quite possible that July and August shook your world in some way. Maybe literally, maybe metaphorically. Nevertheless, you’re in a time in your life where a lot has to shift on a personal level. So, here we are in September and things are starting to settle, finding their new rhythm. Thankfully it’s Virgo Season, a time when you get to connect with a fellow earth sign. (Did you know that Taurus is a sign connected to element earth? As is Virgo?) Earth means feet on the ground, earth means stability, and you could use the time to decompress after the recent ups and downs. Virgo is also a sign to help you have a little fun — if fun means organizing and planning. But in all seriousness, use the first few weeks of September to focus on the details. If a lot has changed recently, so, how do you make sense of it or reorganize the pieces? What’s your plan? There’s something to be said about having a plan. (Thanks, Virgo!) You also have help this month from the planet Saturn. If Virgo is the plan, then Saturn’s time in the sign of Capricorn, way up near the top of your chart, is the master plan. Yes, pay attention and dig into the details in September, but don’t forget the big picture. When Saturn turns direct on September 6, it’s a time to start putting what you believe into practice. Not sure what you believe in? Then Saturn’s two year stint in this part of your chart is going to really help you figure that out. As a result, you may be questioning your faith or how you see the world in September. You may be traveling great distances to find truth and meaning. You may even be going back to school. That said, here’s the thing. I know we talked about how September is very “feet on the ground” and how it’s important to have a plan as you navigate a lot of personal change, but it’s important to remember that sometimes our plans are not the best plans. Meaning, our plans often seem short sighted compared the plan that Source has for us. What happens when surrender to something greater? The new moon on September 9 with its face off to Neptune will press that question throughout the month. Additionally, relationships will be a focus this month. When Venus, your ruling planet, arrives in Scorpio on September 9, you’ll naturally want to socialize with others, especially on a personal or romantic level. If you’re single, use this window of time to connect with potential partners. If you’re already in a relationship, this is a time to circle back and tend to what your partner needs. Note that Venus will spend a longer than usual time in Scorpio, your relationship sign, and will turn retrograde on October 5. So relationships of all varieties will need a second look going into November. Speaking of retrogrades, now that Mars is finally direct, it’ll reenter your career sign of Aquarius on September 10. You’re not only back in hustle mode the rest of September, it’s a time to revisit something that was happening professionally from May. You may have a new perspective on something in your career or want to handle a responsibility differently as a result. Lastly, Mars and Venus will make some prickly aspects mid month. You may be getting another rumble of change, so don’t forget the support of element earth. Keep yourself grounded and connected! The full moon on September 24 will be a reminder that, at the heat of these recent changes, is a push from the cosmos to reinvent yourself. And in order to reinvent yourself, you’ll need to let something go. No need to worry, Taurus. It’s all part of the cycle of life. You’re learning to find that balance between trying to control the process of change and just surrendering to whatever needs to happen. Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Hey, Gemini. Let’s have a quick check in. While you haven’t been experiencing the quick ups and downs like the other signs were this summer, something’s been brewing behind the scenes. See, ever since Saturn changed signs last December, you’ve been in a new chapter. Wherever Saturn is in your chart, you’re learning a lot of powerful lessons. It’s not unlike having to study and work extra hard on a particular area of your life. And what does Saturn want you to learn? Deep lessons around vulnerability, trust, secrets, and power. Yes, these are heavy lessons, but astrology teaches us that there are certain times in our lives when we have to learn through potentially challenging or emotionally confrontational experiences. Has trust been a bigger theme of late? Intimacy and sexuality? What about money and power? Are you having to face your fears? Face yourself? I mention this because Saturn will turn direct on September 6, touching on these very lessons. Maybe you’re like, I have no idea what you’re talking about, crazy astrologer lady. If that’s the case, pay attention to how you’re feeling as you step into September. Something has been stirring deep within and Saturn’s move out of retrograde may bring it to the surface. Okay? Let’s not forget that it’s Virgo Season, the time in your personal calendar when you naturally pull within and turn your focus on family and the home. It’s a time to tend to your roots, feel nostalgic, and get back to what feeds and nurtures you. As a result, you may be keeping a lower profile this month, nesting or spending time with your inner circle. A new moon on September 9 will give you a new beginning in your home life. Maybe you’re looking to move in September, making changes in your living situation, or welcoming a new addition into the home. Also on September 9, Mars will change signs and, once again, motivate you to travel, explore, and search for truth and meaning. Education will also be a priority throughout September. (Mars was in this part of your chart from May 15 till August 12, so you’re returning to events from that time, especially events around travel, education, and even faith.) By the September some of the pressure will start to let up when Mercury, your ruling planet moves into Libra. After some of the emotionally heavy themes of the first half of the month, Libra will help you relax, socialize, and have fun. Then a full moon on September 24 will put a spotlight on community and friendships. Do you and a friend see the world in the same way? Can you trust? Can you let yourself be vulnerable? Don’t forget, vulnerability is something you’re learning a lot about right now and September will help you on that path. Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

Although it’s Virgo Season, a time in your personal calendar when life turns to travel, education, reading, writing, and communication, the real story this month is relationships. Think back to December 2017. Anything start to shift in the relationship department since then? If you’re like, no, give me a second to explain. Ever since Saturn arrived in Capricorn back in December, you’ began a three year chapter of focusing and taking the next step up in your relationships. And by relationships, I mean all relationships. Humans are instinctively social creatures. We want connection. We want to feel safe and secure and loved by others. So this is not only a natural time when you’re reaching out to make connection, but working to strengthen how you relate to others. That means compromise. That means listening to what others want and negotiating needs and wants. Maybe you’ve started a serious relationship over the last eight months. Maybe you’ve made a commitment to a partner. Maybe you’re focusing on bringing new people into your life. Maybe you’ve realized that an existing relationship needs to change … or end. I mention this because Saturn will turn direct on September 6, giving you a check in with your progress. You’re nearly a third of a way into this story. Are you doing work? Are you taking your relationships seriously? Thankfully you’ll have Venus in your relationship sign of Scorpio come September 9, so as you focus on relationships this month, Venus may be giving you a little fun and romance, too. That said, it’s Virgo Season. And as I mentioned previously, this is a natural time for you to get out and about around town. This even includes short trips out of town. Additionally, this is time to feed your curiosity and desire to learn with classes and workshops or even reading a few books. The new moon on September 9 will make these things a priority over the coming month, but you may have to face and issue where you’re not getting the right information. Or you’re seeing only what you want to see. Also on September 9, Mars will pop back into Aquarius, a sign that it recently spent a lot of time. You may be revisiting something from the past few months as a result, something around trust, intimacy, and sexuality. It’s also a good time to revisit efforts to dig deeper into yourself and discover where you can sometimes be your own worst enemy. By realizing where you get in your way, you can put light where there was darkness and transform. A tense square of between Mars and Uranus on September 18 may shake your awareness, opening you up to powerful truths. Lastly a full moon on September 24 will light up your career sign of Aries. You may need to make a decision about your future or what direction you want to take your life in. This may be a natural time this year to make a career change or get serious about the role you want to play in the world. That said, the full moon will put you in the spotlight. Be ambitious and use this moon wisely. Want to learn more about how the astrology of September will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

Have you caught your breath after July’s and August’s wild eclipses? Have things shifted in your life? Are you heading in a different direction? Thank goodness it’s Virgo Season because you could use its stable, practical energy. In fact Virgo is the sign that helps you get back to basics, like making sure there’s money in the bank and food in the pantry. Also, Virgo loves a plan, and after your the recent ups and downs, it’s a good time this month to sit down and figure stuff out. Don’t forget — and I’ve been talking about this the past few months — that you are in the beginning stages of an eight year story where you’re reinventing your career as well as your direction in life. Ambitions are starting to shift. Maybe you’re not so identified with what you’ve been doing as they were even a few months ago. And with parts of your life feeling seismically altered, it’s not a bad idea to spend September organizing and cleaning out. Having said that, it’s worth mentioning another long term planetary influence in your chart — Saturn. It’s been in your chart’s sector of health and wellness since September and you’ve been getting a push to take a critical eye to how you take care of your body, what you eat, and how you go about your daily life. When Saturn turns direct on September 6, you’ll get a check in on your progress. Do you need to change how you eat? Do you need to go to the gym? It doesn’t matter how you do it; what matters is that, according to Saturn, you’re spending the next couple of years really focusing on your health and getting a handle on how you spend your time. Maybe you’ve already been making those changes. After all, Virgo Season certainly has a reputation for getting healthy, so in a way you’re getting a double dose this month. Then again, Virgo is one of your money signs and the new moon on September 9 will give this part of your life a reset. Meaning, for the rest of the month it’s time to focus on material stability and security. Maybe you’re working more to bring in more income. Maybe you’re buying things to create more comfort and stability. Maybe you’re needing to manage the financial details more clearly. Lastly, when Mars changes signs on September 9, it will go back into your relationship sign of Aquarius. Think back to what’s been going on in your relationships since May. Did an issue come up between you and a partner? Did you have a conflict that you had to work out with someone? Or did you just have a lot of triggering experiences with people? Mars in this part of your chart is a bit feisty, so you’ve been doing a lot of back and forth with someone and it may have been emotional at times. Keep this in mind because Mars will bring you back to these themes. It’s not that Mars wants to be a jerk, but it’s agitating you in a way so that you’ll pay attention to what other people need versus your own needs. And that that it’s about finding a new relationship with compromise and negotiation. WIth that in mind, things may be a bit bumpy in that department for the rest of the month. That said, you’re sliding into a time in the year where it’s about putting down roots and tending to the foundation of your life. To balance out some of the choppy waters, you may find yourself spending more time at home. Then again, the second half of September may be extra busy with travel and errands around town. Enjoy, Leo! Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

Happy birthday, Virgo! As you celebrate another trip around the Sun, you’re in different place than most of the signs. You likely didn’t have the the ups and downs that the other signs had over the past few months. At least on paper that’s the idea. For you, it’s been more about being behind the scenes, retreating from the world, and even resting up in some way. So you start your birthday season generally on a quiet note. (Although that will start to shift after Mercury arrives in Virgo on September 5.) The main focus this month, apart from birthday festivities, is health and wellness. I think the past few months gave you a lot of juggle what with Mars activating your health sign of Aquarius. On September 9, Mars will return to this part of your chart after a brief retrograde dip elsewhere, which is to say that this month you’ll be turning your focus once again to taking care of your body, eating right, getting your check ups with the and doctor. Mars in this part of your chart also tends to be a bit overworked with things to do and projects to complete, so make sure you’re finding balance. Also on September 9, a Virgo New Moon will give you a personal reset. What are your wishes for your new year? One of the things that’s been a long term influence on your chart the past few years is the planet Neptune. It’s been in your relationship sign of Pisces since 2011–2012. I know, that’s a long time. I bring this up because this new moon brings something into focus. (Soft focus? Neptune has a reputation for being hazy.) Despite your deep instinct to be in control of everything (I say this out of love, of course!), you’ve been learning a long lesson in surrender over the past few years. Yes, Virgo, sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you manage, organize, and stay on top the details. Sometimes life has a different agenda. Maybe this isn’t the birthday pep talk you were expecting, but it’s real talk and you’re a sign that gets that life is sometimes quite real. My advice to you, as you blow out the candles on another birthday cake, is to let go — let go of any preconceived notions of how things are supposed to be, let go of this instinct to manage and perfect. It’s not to let things into chaos, but to let go and just be. Neptune is a reminder that there’s your version of order, but there is divine order. It’s also a reminder that everything is perfect … just not your version of perfect. If your birthday is on or around September 9, you may be feeling a bit sensitive. Make sure you actually do something nice for yourself for once. Don’t downplay your wants and needs or put them second to someone else. To that point, Saturn’s change of direction on September 6 is a check in a three year story of you taking yourself, your talents, and your creativity seriously. You’re typically one that shies away from the spotlight. Don’t be afraid to change the script this month, to reinvent yourself. By September 21, Mercury, your ruling planet, will move into Libra, a sign that will make you feel a little more social and lively than you’ve been feeling. It also turns the spotlight on money and material stability for the rest of the month. A full moon on September 24 will light up your finance sign of Aries. You may have a decision to make about resource and wealth, about making sure you have what you need, or even dealing with loans and other financial matters. The full moon may also shine a light on some of the deepest parts of your psyche and bring up something around trust and intimacy. Whatever it is, considering some of the other things bubbling up throughout the month, use the full moon to really face yourself and transform so that you’re going into a new year becoming a better version of you. Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

As you get closer to your birthday, it’s natural for you to be in a reflective mood. It’s likely that 2018 has been a big year marked by ups and downs and even a few milestones. So it’s good to take stock of where you’ve been, what you’ve accomplished, and where you’d like to go in the coming new year. Keep in mind that the coming personal year will continue to push you to take the next steps in your life, from relationships to home to career. You know, the big stuff. But, as you arrive in September, you’re straddling two worlds — your old life and your new life. Let’s start with Saturn. The planet of growing up and growing older turns direct after five months and it will do so down at the very bottom of your chart. This is important because, since last December, you’ve been in a time where home and family are a top priority. It’s time to plant down roots, Libra. It’s time to build a foundation for your life. When Saturn turns direct on September 6, it’s a check in with this mandate. Do you need to move? Do you need to make changes to your home that reflect this important phase in your life? Does someone need to move in with you? Or does someone need to leave? Although not the lightest of influences — Saturn in this part of your chart can feel emotionally heavy at times — it’s about building stability in your life. Money is often something that goes hand in hand with stability. When Venus changes signs on September 9, arriving in Scorpio, your financial life moves to the top of your list of priorities. Actually, Venus will turn retrograde in October, so pay attention to what’s going on this month because you’ll be revisiting it into November. (Retrogrades are not bad. They are a natural time in the cycle of life when we have to pull in instead of push out, revisit the past instead of moving forward. Retrogrades help us to rework something that needs a second look.) That said, you may be spending more in September. You may be actively trying to earn more or bring in more resources. You may be more aware of the intangible side of money — value, security, safety, power. Use this time to get your bank accounts in order. It is Virgo Season, after all, a sign that wants things neat and tidy. Also on September 9, a new moon will set a new rhythm for the month, pushing you to rest, recharge, and go within. As much as September is about real life, it’s also about your emotional life. So make sure you’re tending to your health, body, mind, and soul. Then on September 9, Mars will move back into Aquarius, a sign it retrograded out of back in August. It’s time to return to this bigger question about identity. Who are you? Have you lost who you are? Are you a version that someone else wants you to be? Are you expressing who you are and the talents that you have? Heads up, Mars will make the last of its prickly aspects to Uranus on September 18. (The last two were May 16 and August 1.) Since Mars is your relationship planet, a issue may come to the surface between you and mate, something that has been playing out for months. Now is the time for resolution. If single, how do you change how you interact with people? Because Uranus is demanding that something has to change and has been trying to bring something into your awareness. The full moon September 24 will demand a decision. Do you move forward with a relationship? Do you keep interacting with people as you have been doing? Or do you make necessary changes? By the end of September you’re at another turning point. Where are you going to go? Want to learn more about how the astrology of September will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes:  Rest, retreat, reflection, endings, new beginnings, the past, the unconscious, the hidden self, dreams, blind spots, spirituality, spiritual connection, letting go, surrender, the self, identity, self expression, creativity, talents, home, family, living situation, move, foundation, roots, family responsibility, parents, emotional needs, emotional core, money, income, spending, resource, material needs, material life, stability, power, trust, control.

Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

Scorpio, you’re a sign that has a reputation for being able to see into the future. With the Sun traveling through one of the highest parts of your chart this September, it’s all about having perspective. And you could use it. The past few months have likely been a bit up and down, what with the eclipses rocking your professional life and your home life plus Mars, your ruling planet, making some tense aspects to Uranus. Are you thinking about making some big changes? You’re not usually the type to be impulsive, so it’s a good thing it’s Virgo Season — cool, calm, practical Virgo Season. So use this month to get your ducks in a row, so to speak. With the vantage the Sun is giving you, what’s your plan or even vision for the future? This is also the month to reach out to community, spend time with friends, and reconnect to your social circle, especially after the Virgo New Moon on September 9. But with the Sun facing off with Neptune at the time of the new moon, you may be feeling a tension between wanting to belong, but wanting to be yourself as well. The other thing we need to focus on this month is Mars. See, Mars was retrograde from the end of June until the end of August. Since Mars is your ruling planet, the past few months were about pulling back instead of moving forward. In fact, Mars has been down at the bottom of your chart in a very different place from the Sun. While September is about getting the big picture, it’s also about digging into your emotional core, spending more time at home or with family, tending to your roots, or making changes to your living situation. Here’s the thing. If you’re going to make big changes, you need to have a solid foundation and I think Mars is giving you the opportunity to work on that foundation. Something to keep in mind when Mars moves back into Aquarius on September 10 and it will be there until mid November. You’ve got a lot of time to work on that foundation. When Mars moves back into Aquarius, it will make the last of it’s tense square offs with Uranus on September 18. Remember I said you’re not normally the impulsive type? Well, Mars + Uranus can be a bit impulsive because Uranus is pushing to make some radical changes and while you, Scorpio, would love for everything to be under your control, sometimes things are definitely not. Sometimes it’s a leap into the unknown. Sometimes it’s waking up one day and realizing something is not working. If you do make some changes this month, again, thankfully the Virgo energy will temper this impulsivity with practicality. Looking ahead to the September 24 full moon, the spotlight is on work and health. This is a good time to make a decision about how you take care of your body and prioritize your health. You may also have to take a serious look at how you’re juggling everything you have to do. Is it time to make some changes? Lastly, Venus will be paying a long visit to Scorpio starting September 9. Venus will give you charm, grace, and little bit of a flirty edge into October. Enjoy! Want to learn more about how the astrology of September will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

Sagittarius, let’s set the scene a little. It’s Virgo Season and Virgo just so happens to be your career sign, which is to say that this is the natural time of the year when the Sun shines a light on the role you play in the world. It doesn’t matter if the role you play is full time parent or CEO, we all have a role to play. With that in mind, this is a time to focus on the responsibilities that often come with that role. It’s a time to work, but, more importantly, it’s a time to reconnect with the direction you want to take your life in. The new moon on September 9 will give you a reset in this department. Do you need to change direction? Make a career change? Redefine what you do professionally? Take on new ambitions? Supporting this time is the planet Saturn. It’s been working its way through your money sign of Capricorn since the beginning of the year. When Saturn turns direct on September 6, you’re going to have a big check in on how you’ve been organizing your finances, sticking to your budget, and all around working hard to achieve financial goals. Saturn in this part of your chart has a reputation for restricting money, but what Saturn really wants is you to get serious about how you’re earning money and building up the resources you have available. So, how are you doing? Yes, it’s a month that’s focused on real life — money and how that supports your greater ambitions. But it’s also a month to get moving. On September 10, Mars moves back into Aquarius, one of your travel and education signs. It’s also your communication sign, so Mars in this part of your chart definitely has something to say. Keep in mind that this is a return to something that has been going on since May after Mars’s retrograde rewind. If you’ve been holding back on saying something or need to revisit some of your choices from the past few months, this is the time to say and do. Mars in this part of your chart also needs travel, from getting around down to short trips away. It’s curious, it needs something to read or write, it needs classes or workshops. And when Mercury moves into Libra on September 21, the rest of the month will be about networking, socializing, and connecting with community. The full moon on September 24 puts the spotlight on identity and creativity. Are you valuing your talents? Are you getting serious about what you do and what you have to share? Even though Saturn’s been working you on the financial front of late, it’s also getting you to look at what you truly value in life. Hint: it’s not about material stuff. It’s whatever’s deep down inside of you. What really matters is your passion and keeping alive that spark that breathes life into every corner of your life. Make sure you’re tending to that flame in September. Want to learn more about how the astrology of September will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

We’ve got a lot to talk about Capricorn. Then again, we’ve had a lot to talk about since July. But first, let’s look at the big picture and by that I mean the last ten years. I know you, Capricorn, you have a long memory, so you should be able to follow my point. Since 2008 you’ve been on this journey of completely transforming yourself. Like, total gut level transformation. This is because, back in 2008, the planet Pluto entered Capricorn. And, as a result, you may feel like there was a point in the last ten years where the life you were living up until that point had to metaphorically end … so that you could be reborn. Here’s the thing, this story of transformation isn’t over. Fast forward to just this past December. (Still with me?) Saturn arrived in Capricorn and brought this story into a new chapter. Saturn makes things real. (You should know, Saturn is your ruling planet and you’re all about making things real.) In a way, whatever about you, whatever about your life that has been profoundly transforming since 2008 has led to this point. This is when it all has to come together into something real. Maybe this doesn’t quite make sense yet, but pay attention to what is happening around September 6 when Saturn turns direct in Capricorn after five months of retrograde. What has to come together? What decisions do you have to make? What next step are you ready to make in your life? Then again, on September 30, Pluto will turn direct, so you have these dual forces at work this month, pushing you to tear down (Pluto) and put back together (Saturn). Are they contradictory forces? No. But they are digging deeper into your soul this month, remaking you into the person you have to evolve into. This is not to say that all of September will be heavy, but it’s important to point out where the story is going. That said, it’s Virgo Season, the time in your personal calendar when the Sun shines on education, travel, and philosophy. This is natural point in the year when you have your bags packed for a far flung journey, whether its across the country or across the world. You may also be focused on taking classes or going back to school, anything that helps you have a wider understanding of something. But, as I mentioned, this is a time to get philosophical and you may be doing some soul searching, trying to figure out what it all means, especially after the new moon on September 9. That said, the new moon specifically touches on a theme where maybe you don’t know what it all means. Maybe you thought you did, but you’re starting to see that you’ve been blind to something all along. You need new answers, new perspective, new information. So, make sure you meditate and reflect this month, especially as Saturn and Pluto pull at your soul. Lastly, we can’t for get to talk about Mars. It moves back into Aquarius on September 10, a sign that happens to be one of your money signs. Was money a focus the past few months? Were you looking to bring more material and financial security to your life? You may be tying up loose ends in September on something that has been happening along these themes. Then again, with life getting real this month, you may be feeling extra motivated to make sure that the ground beneath your feet is solid. While the full moon on September 24 will put home and family in the spotlight, it will also speak to these more abstract ideas around foundation and roots. Time to tend to the very core of your life and make sure that you’re getting what you need. Want to learn more about how the astrology of September will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

For the most part, September’s an internal month, which is to say that it’s more about what’s going on inside instead of out. After all, it’s Virgo Season, a time in your personal calendar that naturally points you inward. Perhaps you’re feeling an urge to analyze your feelings, navel gaze, and dig into the deepest parts of yourself, all in a search for understanding yourself more deeply. Growth cannot happen without self awareness. And so Virgo season is a time for you to face yourself. Then there’s Saturn. As your ruling planet, whatever it’s doing speaks a lot to what’s going on. Ever since it changed signs back in December 2017, you’ve been in a time of soul searching or existential questioning. When Saturn turns direct on September 6, it’s time to start to move forward on some of the things you’ve been trying to figure out the last five months. Couple this with Virgo’s penchant for analysis, it’s a month for emotional and spiritual inventory. What needs to go? What do you need to shed? What does it all mean?? The new moon on September 9 will give you an emotional reset and push you to further into yourself this month into themes of intimacy, trust, vulnerability, and even sexuality. Then on September 10, Mars moves back into Aquarius, a sign that it was in from May until August, it’s time to get motivated again. Here’s the thing Aquarius. I think one of the reasons it’s a month to internalize and figure your stuff out is because the past few months have likely had a lot of ups and downs, twists and turns. With Uranus a long term visitor to Taurus, your sign of home and family, it’s possible that you’re thinking of making a big move — maybe you already moved in the last month or two — or you’re looking to make a metaphorical move. When Mars goes back into Aquarius, it will reactivate this story that’s been playing out since May. You’re ready to make a change that may take your life in a different direction. By the end of the month you may see a lot more movement. Between the Libra Sun and a full moon on September 24, it’s a time to travel, seek, and explore. Education will also be a priority later this month, from workshop and classes, to higher ed and study. The full moon will also push you to make a decision, one that ties in with all the changes that have been happening the past few months. Are you ready to take the next step? Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

Pisces, there’s something about this time of year, as if you’re emerging out into the world for the first time after months of laying low. Virgo Season is not only the first step into the world beyond yourself, but it’s a season to connect with others. To that point, September may make you more aware of the people in your life, from whom you attract to how you interact and socialize with others. The new moon on September 9 will give you a personal reset in this department. If you’re single and wanting meet someone, this is a natural time of year for you do so, so make the effort to reach out. If you’re already in a relationship, you may be turning over a new leaf with a partner. I want to point something out, however. As a Pisces you have a tendency to see what you want in current or potential partners, glazing over all the rough edges and human faults and sometimes missing red flags. You also have a tendency want to heal others even when it’s not your responsibility. Yes, I may be making a huge generalization and maybe this is all a bit #realtalk, but the new moon may bring this point front and center so consider this a loving and gentle caution, Pisces. So, you may need to take a critical look at your relationships this month. Are you seeing what you want to see? Are you trying to be the savior? The martyr? Just something to reflect on. (And, hey, maybe you’re like, everything is fine! Great!) Another thing to mention this month is that Saturn turns direct on September 6, putting an emphasis on your sign of community and friendships. Translation? Have you been making friendships a priority? Have you been finding your tribe? You’re nearly a third of the way through a chapter of your life where you need to build community. And Saturn’s giving you a check in on your progress this month. Then on September 10, Mars moves back into Aquarius. Admittedly this isn’t the most active place for Mars to be in your chart and if you were feeling as though you didn’t have a lot of drive and energy the past few months, this may be why. What Mars wants you to do in September is to go within, to search for answers, to retreat, meditate, and connect with spirituality. Remember how I said I said this is the time of year where you’re getting a push to be more social? By contrast Mars is making you take a step back. Both are true and you’re learning to negotiate different needs this month. By the end of the month the story starts to shift towards money and income, financial stability and security. The full moon on September 24 will put your material life in the spotlight. Do you have what you need to feel safe and secure? You may feel a motivation to earn more or gather the resources you need. With Mars still pointing to the quiet and sacred space within, the full moon may prompt you to let go of old notions of what you think you need financially or what you think you value. Astrology teaches us that life has a natural cycle and sometimes we have to let something go in order to move forward. Then again, you’re a Pisces. You understand that life is not just one cycle but many cycles. The tide goes in, the tide goes out. You are one with everything and everything is you. Just don’t forget to have good boundaries.
