Welcome to May! It’s Taurus Season and the world is in full bloom. (At least it is here in the northern hemisphere.) Taurus is about the sensuality and the pleasure of physical life, from good food to gathering what we need to create a comfortable existence.

Because Taurus is an earth sign, we’re more keenly aware of our material needs this month. It’s a time to focus on money as well as what we own. Taurus is possession and assets. It’s also the basic necessities of life.

Taurus is also sweetness. Ruled by Venus, it’s a sign that wants to taste and savor. Make sure you’re enjoying something delicious this month. I’ve yet to meet a Taurus that doesn’t like a baked good or that doesn’t like to snack and graze.

That said, on May 4 a Taurus New Moon helps us to set intentions to create more material stability in our lives. But what’s holding us back from enjoying the abundance of the material world? With Venus in Aries, we’re examining anything from the past that made us feel unsafe to enjoy life, especially as Venus makes aspects to Saturn, Pluto, and the Nodes during the second week of May. (Makes me think of root chakra issues.) Whatever does come up, it’s important to really get grounded and back in touch with our bodies and the earth.

Mercury moves into Taurus on May 6 and we’re starting to slow down, smell the roses, and take our time. Mercury in Taurus is in no rush. But Mercury will meet up with Uranus on May 8 and we may be getting a jolt that gives us new awareness or a new way of seeing things.

Mars spends half the month in Gemini before moving into Cancer on May 15. For the next six weeks we’re motivated to spend time with home and family. Mars in Cancer can also be a bit fussy and we may be more aware than usual of our emotional needs. Mars in Cancer may be a demand that we’re are held, cared, and nurtured.

Also on May 15 Venus arrives in Taurus, a sign that it’s right at home in, and we’re going deeper into Taurus Season’s call for pleasure, abundance, and the sweetness of life. But any planet entering Taurus has to meet up with Uranus first and we’re getting a greater insight into what this new seven year period means for us.

Uranus in Taurus is about getting out of our comfort zones, leaving behind what is safe, and make a radical change … but one that puts us closer to where we need to be. If we’ve been detached from our bodies or from the pleasure of life, how do we reclaim it? If we’ve been stuck in a rut, how do we have the courage and inspiration to get out of it?

The Scorpio Full Moon on May 18 puts the spotlight on everything that makes us uncomfortable. That’s Scorpio’s job, to poke and to pod, to show us what’s hidden, to get us to leap into the unknown and to let go. With Mars newly in Cancer, this may be an emotional full moon, one that touches on home and family and some of the most fundamental aspects of human life. We just want to be held and told everything is going to be okay.

Lastly, on May 21, the Sun and Mercury move into Gemini, kicking off Gemini Season. The rest of the month is busy, chatty, and on the move. We’re looking to travel and get out of town. Enjoy!

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

Even though it’s Taurus Season, a time when it’s about slowing down, enjoying life, and stocking up for the journey ahead, May’s anything but slow. With Mars, your ruling planet, still in Gemini for the first half of the month, it’s still a time to travel around, juggle appointments, and get things done. To be fair, all the hustle and bustle may feel manic at times, so when things do start to slow down in the second half of May, the change of pace feels overdue. See, this month as well as April, has been about options. It’s as if you’ve been doing a lot of test runs and figuring things out. When Mars reaches the end of Gemini on May 14, it’s a time to have a clearer idea about what you want and where you want to go. As much as it feels like you have a lot of choices, come May 15, when Mars arrives in Cancer, it’s about making a choice and putting it in action. The second half of May is also about settling down. Cancer, after all, is your sign of home and family and roots. As a result, you may be more focused on home life later this month and into June, dealing with anything from a move to making changes in the home. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s Taurus Season, so that means that the Sun is shining a light on money and resources, from how you make it and what you have in the bank to the things you own. It’s a month about creating stability in your life, which may seem a little at odds with May’s overall fast pace, but just remember to stay grounded. The Taurus New Moon on May 4 opens up a four week period where you’re taking action with your finances as well as questioning what you value. With Venus, the ruler of the new moon square Saturn, Pluto, and the Nodes, you may have something serious to deal with on the financial end of things. The presence of the lunar nodes can feel like a turning point, as if a door is closing and another opening. Since Saturn is still way up top in your career sign of Capricorn, there is likely a connection with this new moon with your professional life. Meaning, you may have a decision to make about your career, the role you play in the world, and the direction you take your life in. Then on May 18, a Scorpio Full Moon puts the spotlight on some of your deepest emotions. This may feel a little uncomfortable as you face your fears or deal with themes of vulnerability and intimacy. With the full moon pointing its energy towards the sign of Cancer, you may be very aware about getting your needs met. It may also be a time when you’re dealing with finances around home and property, perhaps even making a move or getting a loan or mortgage sorted out. Nevertheless, with Mars in Cancer the second half of May, it’s a time to really focus on the foundation of your life and often what’s in one’s foundation is what roots us — the home we live in, the people we call family, and the roots we plant. Make sure those roots are strong. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

Happy birthday, Taurus! What a difference a year makes. Does it feel like the earth beneath your feet is shifting a bit as you step into a new year? I know I’ve been talking about this consistently in horoscopes previous, but it’s really worth reiterating that your life is now in a very different chapter. What does that mean though?? As much as it’s Taurus’s instinct to stay in its comfort zone, the next seven years are pushing you out of what’s safe and easy. So as you look back on the previous twelve months, you may see how different parts of your life — or even you! — have begun to change. May starts with a Taurus New Moon, that gives you a reset. (If your birthday is on or near the new moon, the coming twelve months are about new beginnings.) But the energy of the new moon is pointing to a part of your chart that’s about wrapping things up and endings rather than new beginnings, so you may feel like you’re straddling two chapters or even two lives this month. When Venus, your ruling planet, meets up with Saturn and Pluto the second week of May, life may feel a bit serious, a bit real. Whatever you’re having to decide and face, know that it may feel like a leap of faith. By May 15 Venus arrives in Taurus and you’re feeling more inspired to move forward and take action after the previous week’s intensity. To that point, use the first half of May to tie up loose ends and do your personal work of self care, introspection, transformation, and spiritual connection. The second half of May feels a lot busier. With Mars moving into your sign of travel and education, you’re on the go. You’ve got places to go and people to see later this month. You may be dealing with appointments, trips, and the hustle and bustle of commuting. Then on May 18, Venus meets up with Uranus in Taurus and you’re getting another push to make changes, reinvent yourself, and break from the past. There’s also a focus on relationships this month. The Scorpio Full Moon on May 18 puts the spotlight on not just romantic partnership, but having to negotiate and find the balance of true partnership. Full moons can also bring decisions and you may have a choice to make about a relationship. The full moon may bring news or information. Make sure you’re getting your voice heard. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Endings, new beginnings, change, spiritual needs, spirituality, reflection, shedding the past, breaking from the past, faith, belief, feeling, choices, facing fears, emotional intensity, rebirth, reinvention, value, material needs, resources, what you own, possessions, the voice, communication, writing, speaking, thinking, learning, classes, travel, information, relationships, other people, partnership, social connection, compromise, negotiation.

Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

Gemini, with the Sun in Taurus for most of this month, this is the time in your personal calendar when it’s time to reflect, rest, and let go. See, Taurus is the sign before Gemini and the zodiac month that falls before your birthday season. So it’s as if you’re arriving at the end of a long journey. You may be feeling wistful or other mixed emotions. It’s important to note that this has likely not been an easy past twelve months. Why? Saturn has been moving through a particularly sensitive part of your chart that has likely been pulling up powerful emotions. If Saturn speaks to the lessons we need to learn in life, then the 2018-2020 period is about facing your fears, facing past traumas, and negotiating the deepest parts of yourself … all so you can heal and transform. Yes, it’s a lot. And so this month you may been questioning your faith as well as your resolve. Hang in there, Gemini. If it’s worth anything, it’s as if you’re building emotional strength and fearlessness at this time. What you’re overcoming right now, whether small or large, will shape you in ways that’s hard to see at the moment. If you can, make sure you’re taking care of yourself this month, whether it’s physical and emotional health or spiritual. If you need to rest or pull back from the world, then do so. If you need to check in with a confidant or trusted advisor like a therapist or counselor, then by all means. The new moon on May 4 points towards letting go of the past and anything else that you don’t want to take with you into your upcoming new year. Then on May 15, Mars moves into your sign of money and value and, over the next six weeks, there’s an emphasis on making your material needs a priority. This could include using Mars’s drive and initiative to make more money or gathering and buying what you need to create a comfortable life. On May 18 a full moon lights up Scorpio, your sign of health, diet, fitness, work, and projects. It’s a time to get organized, to take your physical as well as emotional health seriously. Since full moons can bring decisions or prompt us to take action, use this full moon proactively to make a positive decision about how you take care of your body. It’s also a full moon to get organized, taking note that there is a direct link between our physical reality and our emotional reality. Maybe it’s time to go all Marie Kondo on your stuff, cleaning out whatever is reflective of stagnation or blockages. Any space you can free up is space for new life and new energy to flow. After all the emotional heavy lifting you’ve been doing this year, you could use the revitalization. The Sun and Mercury’s arrival in Gemini on May 21 kicks off a new season as well as new beginnings. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Endings, letting go, emotional heavy lifting, reflection, shedding the past, faith, belief, existential questioning, emotional health, emotional needs, spiritual needs, spiritual health, physical health, taking care of the body, diet, fitness, nutrition, projects, vitality, rest, recuperation, retreat, money, income, value, material needs, stability, material security, resources, self worth, new beginnings, renewal, fresh starts, action.

Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

You’re winding down a personal year, Cancer, which means it’s about getting a wider view of yourself and your life. When you zoom out, what do you see? Are you able to follow the path you made since your birthday with all its ups and downs? Getting a wider view means that this is the month to plan for the future and define the goals you want to aspire to for the coming year. Write them down. Post them where you can see them over the coming months. Otherwise it’s easy to lose track of the bigger picture. In fact, the new moon on May 4 is a good time to do just so, which is to say may a list of the things you want to change as well as reach for. It’s also a new moon that puts an emphasis on friendships and connection for the rest of the month. If friendships or even group connections are something that have needed your attention, use the new moon to reach out and reconnect. You can also use this new moon to turn your attention to building community as well as finding the people with whom you have a shared or common goal. Let’s also not forget that May is about rest, too. Mars has been in the part of your chart that speaks to needing to slow down, sleep, and recuperate. Don’t rush this very important time because we all need to rest even when it’s inconvenient. But, come May 15, Mars moves into Cancer, kicking off a new cycle of action and new beginnings. Mars in your sign can feel like a shot of adrenaline and courage. Let’s be honest, it’s also a bit hot headed. Cancer is what’s known as a water sign, which means it’s emotionally driven. Try to be careful to not be too temperamental or emotionally impulsive while Mars is in Cancer. Since Saturn is in your relationship sign of Capricorn all year long, you may be feeling a push-pull this month as well as in June, too, between what you want and what a partner wants. Will you be able to negotiate and find balance? Speaking of emotions, when Venus meets up with Uranus on May 18, it may be an emotional new beginning, one that makes a break from the past. It’s not a time to be nostalgic but, instead, to move forward into a new era. Also on May 18, a full moon lights up your sign of identity, self expression, and creativity. Do you know who you are? Are you expressing your true self? The spotlight is also on play, so make sure you’re doing something you love on or around the full moon. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: The big picture, goals, the future, looking ahead, friends, groups, social network, social circle, community, social causes, rest, recuperation, retreat, sleep, dreams, reflection, spirituality, surrender, letting go, new beginnings, courage, motivation, moving forward, taking action, relationships, negotiation, compromise, partnership, the self, self expression, identity, creativity.

Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

Let’s check in on things, Leo. I know I’ve been talking about this quite bit, but it’s worth reiterating that you’re in a time time in your life, one where your career may be changing. This could also include the role that you play in the world, the ambitions you reach for, and the direction you take your life in. Maybe this is all a bit abstract right now — you are, after all, at the beginning of a seven year story and the plot isn’t always as clear at the beginning — but Taurus Season is the time when the Sun shines its light on your professional life. You may naturally be focused on career at this time as well as stepping up in the world. Does anything about this part of your life seem different than last year? (Ran away and joined the circus? Sounds tempting, right?) Keep this in mind as the Taurus New Moon on May 4 opens a new chapter in your career and hopefully gives you more insight into what this new time in your life is all about. You may be switching gears professionally, switching jobs or positions, or making a more dramatic move, especially once Venus arrives in Taurus on May 15, meeting up with Uranus on May 18. It’s important to remember that, no matter what, Uranus wants you to be true to who you are and your values. Meaning, that even if there are no big dramatic professional changes over the next seven years that you’re doing something that you really want to do and that is a reflection of your real ambitions and talents. As much as May is about what you want to do when you grow up, it’s also about home, family, and the foundation that your professional ambitions rest upon. The full moon on May 18 puts this in the spotlight and you may have a decision to make about your living situation like a move or a change in the home. It’s also a time to make sure your emotional needs are getting met. With the energy of the full moon pointing towards Cancer, one of the most quietest and spiritual parts of your chart, you may also be questioning your faith as well as searching for deeper meaning. Also, during the second half of May, it’s a good idea to get some rest or go on a retreat. Seems a bit contradictory with everything that’s pointing towards your professional life and being in the spotlight this month, but life is about negotiating the pull between opposing forces. Change can also bring up emotional anxiety, especially when it’s happening in a sign — Taurus — that inherently doesn’t like change. Sit with your feelings. Be present with the tension. Meditate if you can. Be open to new realizations about yourself and your life because the astrology of May is saying that there’s a lot of richness to be discovered if you allow yourself to find it. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Career, public life, profession, responsibilities, title, role, recognition, direction, aspiration, ambition, reinvention, transformation, groups, friends, community, society, social connection, social causes, inner life, rest, retreat, recuperation, spirituality, search for meaning, faith, the unconscious, dreams, memories, the past, home, family, roots, foundation, parents, living situation, move.

Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

What does faith mean to you? Do you see the world with open, curious eyes? Or does belief limit how you see yourself and the world. With Uranus spending the next seven years in the part of your chart that reveals how you connect and experience the world beyond the four walls of your life, Taurus Season is a reminder to open your eyes, not close them. It’s a natural time to want to travel, explore, and get philosophical about life. It’s important to remember this time of year, especially with Uranus in Taurus, that you don’t know everything. Maybe that’s a blunt statement, but it’s true. No one can know everything, which is why this month is shaking you out of your slumber and awakening you to the world before you with its endless things to discover. The new moon on May 4 is a reminder of this. You may be planning a trip abroad or to a far flung destination. You may be going back to school or focusing on your education. You may even be searching for answers and meaning in books or different ideologies. With the energies of the new moon pointing towards the deepest parts of yourself and your psyche, it’s important to use this lunar month to examine why you have certain beliefs — or even fears — about yourself and the world and to let them go. Now’s not the time in your life for small ideas or small vision. Open yourself up to something bigger, but first confront that’s limiting you. Then on May 8 Mercury meets up with Uranus, giving you another jolt to wake you up. Be open to new ideas, flashes of brilliance, and new consciousness. Get out and explore. Do things differently. On May 15, Mars moves into Cancer and motivates you make connections with friends and allies or reach out within your community. Note that while Mars can motivate and inspire one to take action, it can also bring up conflict. Keep this is mind if there is already a simmering issue between you and a friend or within your community. Mars isn’t known for its diplomacy, but it is known for its leadership, so take the lead positively. After all, friendship and community is an area that’s very important for you in 2019. It’s about bringing in new social connections and a sense of belonging. Use Mars to make that happen. Then on May 18 a Scorpio Full Moon puts the spotlight on communication. You may have something to say or you may receive information that reveals. Scorpio is also one of your signs of travel and education, so the full moon may speak to going on trips or taking classes, too. By May 21 Mercury moves into Gemini and the rest of the month is spent focused on career ambitions, professional responsibilities, and public life. Going into June, this may be a natural time when you’re making moves in your job or getting recognized for your hard work. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Faith, belief, meaning, seeing the world, opening your vision, new consciousness, new awareness, awakening, search, quest, education, philosophy, ideology, religion, law, morality, right and wrong, truth, foreign travel, long distance journeys, trips, travel, movement, transportation, community, friendships, groups, social causes, collective, social network, the future, looking ahead, career, ambition, professional life, aspirations, goals, job, responsibilities.

Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

With Venus in Aries for the first half of May, you start the month focused on relationships. After all, Venus is your ruling planet and wherever it is reveals what your naturally reaching for and connecting with. It’s often said that Libra is the sign of relationships. Why is that? Because it’s a sign that naturally wants to connect, partner, and compromise. Of course, not every Libra lives that exactly, but it’s important nevertheless. Remember this because Venus, your ruling planet, makes a series of stressful aspects the second week of May, which could bring up something in a relationship that you have to negotiate, themes such as commitment, power, and intimacy. When Venus arrives in Taurus on May 15, it begins to catch up with the Sun, also in Taurus. Yes, it’s Taurus Season, which means that it’s the time in your personal calendar when the Sun shines on some of your deepest emotions and deepest parts of yourself. The thing about relationships, especially romantic relationships, is that they often go hand in hand with feelings of vulnerability and intimacy. You’re at the start of a seven year chapter of opening up and awakening what it means to let people in. Sure, Libra is the sign of relationships, but can Libra bare its soul to someone? Can Libra let its emotions get messy? Can Libra be truly naked? If you’re already waving your hand yes, then great! Go deeper. If vulnerability hits you in the gut, then you know there’s work ahead for you. Keep this in mind when Venus meets up with Uranus on May 18, a planet that’s shaking you out of your comfort zone, out of your complacency. Also on May 18, a Scorpio Full Moon puts the spotlight on money and material stability. It’s a natural time when you’re focused on your finances and having to make decisions about what you own, what you need, and how you make and spend your money. With the energy of the full moon pointing towards Mars’s recent arrival in your career sign means that you may be making changes in your professional life, too, with this full moon. Speaking of Mars, it will spend the second half of May motivating you to reach towards your ambitions, take charge in your career, and take on new responsibilities. Note that career is an area of your life that’s getting some changes this year Mars’s time in Cancer pushes this story forward. It’s about new opportunities opening up for you as well as closing the door on things that no longer are working professionally. Come July, with the next round of eclipses, you’ll be making some big moves towards going into the next chapter in your career. In the meantime, use the rest of May to take classes and get the education you need to help you take those next steps professionally. Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

Taurus Season is relationship season. After all, Taurus is Scorpio’s relationship sign. That’s not to say that this is the only time of year when you can opening up to partnership and connection, but it’s the time when the Sun is shining on this part of your life. See, Scorpio is a sign that likes to be in control and wants partnership on its own terms. If you’re feeling a little called out, that’s because it’s important to understand that you’re at the beginning of a seven year story of reinventing what it means to connect to others, to open yourself to relationship, and learn to let down down some of that classic Scorpio guard. So with the Sun in Taurus for most of this month, repeat the following mantra throughout the coming days and weeks — “I’m not in control.” Scarry, isn’t it? But it’s real … and it’s needed for your soul’s growth, Scorpio. The Taurus New Moon on May 4 opens up a new chapter in relationship and partnership. If you’re single, use this energy to make connection or take action to meet new people. (Don’t forget, Saturn’s in your sign of communication all year long. You have to actually talk to people! It can’t all be Scorpio’s natural magnetism and seduction.) If you’re already in a relationship, it’s a natural time for you and a mate to turn over a new leaf and make the relationship a priority. Even if you’re not looking to be in partnership right now, it’s not the month to sit alone at home. Get outside. Be open to socializing. Get out of your comfort zone. Venus is certainly stirring things up as it makes tense aspects to Saturn, Pluto, and the Nodes the second week of May, a week that may be a turning point in relationships provided you face your fears and make some serious decisions. When Venus meets up with Uranus on May 18, sparks may fly or someone unexpected may enter your life. Also on May 18 a Scorpio Full Moon puts you in the spotlight. It’s a natural time to get noticed and to be seen. With the energy of the full moon pointing towards travel and distant lands, you may be feeling like the world is your oyster. Mars, your ruling planet, is in Cancer for the second half of May, inviting you to make travel plans and get out and explore. It’s also a sign that helps you to focus on education as well as themes of faith, truth, and belief. Are you ready to share with the world your wisdom? Your point of view? The astrology of 2019 is already pushing you out into the world. Time to open your eyes and see things differently, even if it means getting out of your comfort zone. Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

When Jupiter entered Sagittarius last November, it was the start of a new twelve year journey. As you can imagine, new journeys need planning and intention. It’s not enough to head into something new with only a wing and a prayer. Taurus Season is a reminder that you need to do your practical work, a reminder to get organized and pay attention to the details. You may be working more this month or tending to projects as a result. That said, it’s also a time to focus on health, wellness, and how you take care of your body. Uranus is now in Taurus and will be there for the next seven years. Something about how you eat, exercise, or even how you tend to your physical health may be radically changing. Uranus is about new consciousness and awareness, so if you’ve been a little detached from your body then May is a time to come back to it. The new moon on May 4 is a wonderful time to set positive intentions around health and wellness. With the energy of the new moon pointing to Venus in Aries, though, it’s worth contemplating any old themes around self worth and value. If how you take care of yourself is changing radically over the coming years, is there an old belief that’s in the way of you really taking these positive steps forward? Speaking of Aries, Mercury, an important planet in your chart, is making some bumpy aspects the first week of May. You may be negotiating some ups and downs in your professional life or in relationships, but Mercury also trines with Jupiter, so you have support. With Mars in your relationship sign of Gemini until the middle of the month, it’s still a time to reach out and make connection. You may also be seeing a lot of action or possible romance as Mars faces off with Jupiter on May 5. By May 15, Mars moves into Cancer, touching on themes of intimacy and vulnerability. You’re going to be doing a lot of soul searching the second half of the month as Mars digs deep into your psyche as well as into your hidden feelings. Don’t forget that one of the main themes of 2019 for Sagittarius is the faith needed to leap into the unknown. In many ways you’re leaving your comfort zone this year. Mars’s time in Cancer from the middle may until the beginning of July is designed for you to face your fears, your anxieties, and test your mettle. And know that all journeys have moments where the climb is harder, but what comes out of this process is a deeper awareness of self and where you want to go over the next twelve years. On May 18, a Scorpio Full Moon lights up a very quiet, intimate part of your chart, revealing that as much as May is about taking care of your physical health, it’s also about tending to your spiritual health. You may be pulling inward around the full moon, meditating or reflecting. You may be feeling a need to emotionally purge. It’s a full moon to let things go — let them go for good. Also on May 18, Venus meets up with Uranus and gives you a new awareness about what needs to change and transform in your physical life. Use that time to kick off any new initiatives around health, nutrition, and fitness. By May 21 the Sun and Mercury arrive in Gemini and point you back towards relationships again. The rest of the month is time to mingle, connect, socialize, date, and to reach out to people. Want to learn more about how the astrology of May will affect you? Book your consultation now.

Key Themes: Health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, work, projects, organization, details, plans, schedule, radically new routines, self worth, self esteem, identity, value, soul searching, emotional digging, the deep self, the psyche, facing fears, intimacy, vulnerability, letting things go, emotional purging, memories, the past, sexuality, relationships, other people, socialization, compromise, negotiation, one-on-one connection, partnership, romance.

Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

Let’s be honest, Capricorn. 2019 has probably not been the easiest of years. Between Saturn, your ruling planet, meeting up with Pluto and the Capricorn eclipses this year, your life is a little upside down. But there’s a deeper message to this time … something has to powerfully change and that change begins with you. One of the things that’s opening up to you this year is relationship. With the North Node of the Moon in Cancer, you have to do your best to get out of your own way and stop trying to control everything. Maybe this is a little blunt, but this is said with love and compassion, Capricorn, because what awaits you this year is the potential to open your heart up and be vulnerable. It’s a year to remember that you can’t go through life trying to do it all yourself. You need help, you need connection, you need partnership. Also, you need some fun. Taurus Season is a time meant to help you discover the pleasure and joy of living. It’s a time to express yourself, cultivate persona, and share your talents and creativity. Use the energy of the new moon on May 4 to do just that. Relax. Let your hair down. Open up to the real you, not the version of you molded by the expectations of others. After all, you’re in the start of a seven year story of reinventing who you are. (I know, crazy!) Venus’s arrival in Taurus on May 15 followed by a meetup with Uranus on May 18 will give you more insight into the person you are transforming into. Another area of focus this month is health and how you take care of your body. With Mars heating things up in this part of your life, you may be motivated and inspired to make changes in your diet or tend to your health. Since Mars has a lot of drive and energy, make sure you’re giving Mars a healthy outlet. This could be through walks, the gym, or yoga, for example. When Mars changes signs on May 15, it will start heating up Cancer, your relationship sign. Remember, this is a year about opening up to people and the rest of the month as well as June will lead you toward connection. That said, if you’ve had a long simmering issue with a mate, just know that Mars can bring things to surface or provoke and you may find yourself in a tug of war into June. How will you find balance? Understanding? Patience? A full moon on May 18 helps you to get a wider view of your life. When you zoom out, what do you see, especially after having gone through a lot of ups and downs this year? What could you be doing differently? The full moon also points towards friendships and social connections. It’s important to have allies and friendly faces in your life as you navigate some tough astrology this year. Last month Jupiter, your ruling planet, turned retrograde. So this is a friendly reminder that you’re in a phase where you’re pulling back and figuring things out instead of marching forward. Since Jupiter is in Sagittarius, your career sign, know that you’re in a year long period of taking on new responsibilities, opening up to new career opportunities, and focused on getting ahead professionally. With the retrograde, reflect on everything that’s happened in your professional life since November. Anything you want to tweak? Any opportunities you want to return to? That said, it’s Taurus Season, the time in your personal calendar when the Sun shines on communication, travel, and education. You may naturally be drawn to taking classes this month or reading up on all you can get your hands on. Keep in mind that you’re in a much longer period of your life, seven years to be exact, where you’re transforming how you communicate and opening up your voice. The new moon on May 4 helps you to set intentions and plant seeds around this theme. Are you being heard? Do you and others value what you have to say or think? Venus, the ruler of the new moon, makes some tense aspects to Saturn and Pluto, so you may have to confront what’s keeping you from really speaking up or being heard. Related, Mercury also makes tense aspects to Saturn and Pluto into the second week of May. As a result, you may be feeling deep emotions come up. You may also be negotiating something in your relationships, especially themes of trust and value. Mars is also in your sign of home and family for the first half of May, so home life may be anything but peaceful. Mars may have you making changes in the home or needing to make some serious decisions about where you live or the roots you’ve planted. Then on May 15 Mars changes signs and motivates you to make creativity and self expression a priority for the rest of the month. You may be looking to have more fun and enjoy some downtime, too. Also on May 15, Venus changes signs sets in motion this bigger story around communication. When Venus meets up with Uranus on May 18, you have have something to say that you’ve been holding back on or you’re getting powerful new insights. It’s also a time when you may be weighing choices. Venus and Uranus may provide radically new options that set you off on a new direction. A full moon on May 18 puts travel, faith, and belief in the spotlight. You may be looking to make a big trip, especially one that takes you over long distances or to foreign lands. Education is in the spotlight, too, and the full moon may prompt you to make a decision about going back to school or getting more training. But this part of the chart also speak to deeper themes around right and wrong. Meaning, if this month has you weighing many choices and options, how can you be sure which is the right one? You may be seeking out different opinions or reflecting on which options favors the greater good. By May 21 the Sun and Mercury moves into Gemini and you’re pulled towards home and family into the rest of the month. It’s a time to settle down and nest.
