We go into the weekend with a Virgo Moon, a sign that links us back to the Virgo solar eclipse just four weeks ago. With the Sun square Jupiter, we may be wanting more out of our lives. Virgo helps us to take practical steps to expand our horizons.
More subtle is today’s annual opposition between the Sun and Chiron, an aspect that can bring up old wounds, activating reoccurring stories and themes. Take note of what you are experiencing and feeling. There could be a deeper meaning.
Chiron, a newer addition to astrology, represents a pain point in our lives and in our psyche that we need to heal. Or, a knot that keeps us tethered to a suffering on a deep psychic level. As humans, we all have something that strikes a nerve, whether it’s self worth or being heard or standing up for ourselves.
Chiron’s symbol is a key. It’s a beautiful reminder that true healing happens when we take the things that have made us suffer the most and use it like medicine to help and inspire others. A personal pain point is then transcended because we are able to connect to a collective level. Then Chiron can become a key and open the higher potential of our lives.
With Chiron in Aries, our courage and bravery in the face of difficulty is the medicine that helps others to find their own courage.
As an aside, it is hard to believe that Chiron will make its first arrival in Taurus next year, from June 19 to September 17, 2026. And that means that if you were born in the late 1970s like me, you’re beginning your Chiron Return, which happens around age 50. (Read On Chiron, Suffering, and Knots.)
