Mars returns home to Scorpio, trading Libra for something far more familiar. As a result, there’s a chill in the air, the realization that we’re in a stage of the year that brings the decay necessary for new life to begin. It’s also the courage to seek deeper connection.
If Libra is the sign of relationship, then Scorpio, the sign that follows, is what happens behind closed doors between two people. It’s the space where we discover intimacy and vulnerability with another. It’s also the space where we have to face ourselves in order to grow and evolve. (Read Mars in Scorpio: Sign by Sign.)
When I talk about the archetype of Scorpio to my clients — and I am a Scorpio myself — and try to frame it for them, I say, “Imagine a life where everything is easy. Imagine a life where nothing happens. Do we grow?”
The answer is, “No. We don’t.”
We need Scorpio. And, for whatever reason, we need Scorpio’s energies during this eclipse season. We need growth. Especially growth in how we connect with others and find deeper connection. Of course, it starts with our own connection to ourselves. And, sometimes, that can make for an uncomfortable reality.
