The Sun and Chiron face off in an opposition, an addition to an already crowded field of planets in advance of the October 14 solar eclipse. There’s a demand for healing. We have to have the courage to move on, the bravery to seek something better.
Chiron is a pain point in the astrology, a reminder that as human beings, we all have something that hits a nerve, something that we keep cycling back through. Although painted in astrology as the “wound that doesn’t heal”, we actually can heal with Chiron by transcending our personal pain and reaching for a collective understanding.
Chiron’s symbol is a key, which means we have to take the things that have made us suffer and use it like medicine to help and inspire others. Then we can unlock healing as well as our higher potential. (Read more about Chiron in On Chiron, Suffering, and Knots.)
So, it’s possible, with the solar eclipse’s square to Pluto and an opposition to Chiron, we have some healing to do in relationships over the coming six months. But the shift has to come from within us. Everything first happens within. That’s the key. And it takes courage to take these internal discoveries and live them in our lives and in our relationships.
