The Moon travels between Capricorn and Aquarius, two Saturn-ruled signs. We continue Saturn’s themes of structure and order, responsibility and duty. We’re also coming up to the first-quarter moon after a powerful Scorpio New Moon. The page turns again.
There are some basic fundamentals of astrology that we all need to know. First, astrology measures time and our symbolic relationship with time on Earth. Two, there are two primary measurements of time in astrology — the lunar cycle and the movements of Saturn. They are like two hands on a great celestial clock. The lunar cycle is represented by a smaller hand that moves more quickly around the cosmic wheel and Saturn like a larger hand that marks the great hours.
Of course all planets measure time and its great cycles. But it’s the lunar months and the seasons of Saturn that shape and mold our time in the physical world.
So, when Saturn changes directions, which happens twice a year, or changes zodiac signs, which happens every three years, it’s good to take note.
Next week, on November 15, Saturn will turn direct at 12 Pisces, concluding a retrograde that began on June 29. It means that November as well as the end of June, early July are two markers of time for 2024, two points that may bring events, milestones, and major decisions or commitments.
Pay attention to what’s beginning to build and take shape into the next two weeks. Where we are being asked to take on a bigger role or to make a choice or we may be seeing a firm boundary.
Pisces is a unique sign for Saturn to be in because Pisces is about the world beyond this world and our search for greater purpose and meaning. Saturn is about our material world. And since March 2023, when Saturn first entered Pisces, we have been trying to build something emotional, spiritual, and existential. We can connect the dots by looking at events from March and June of this year. Or going back to November, June, and March of 2023.
If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for November 7, 2024.
