With the Sun now in Aries, we’ve been turning our attention to Mars in Cancer. Like Aries, Cancer is a cardinal sign, a sign that aligns with the four seasons. We have an impetus to turn a corner, to set things in motion, to connect with the energies of renewal.

If you are in the northern hemisphere like me, the buds on the trees and the stirrings of new life isn’t just a sign that we’ve passed from winter to spring, it’s deeply symbolic, too. Our ancestors likely celebrated this time as the rebirth of life. And it’s no coincidence that this is the time of year that we see images of bunnies, eggs, green grass, and chicks — images deeply rooted in cultural memory in parts of the northern hemisphere.

This is also an energy that we can tap into. Symbols are merely a reflection of a natural vital force that creates new life.

One of the themes in the upcoming Aries New Moon solar eclipse will be the creation of new life. Another theme will be the drive to take action, to put down roots, to take the lead.

However, the eclipse will also highlight Mars square Chiron in Aries, an aspect that is exact today. While today’s square is the last of three squares since October 2024, it says that there may be a pain point to move past — an insecurity, a fear of taking action, a reluctance to forge new life. But Chiron always reminds us, in the case of Chiron in Aries, that when we have the courage to do something, it helps others find their courage, too.

If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for March 27, 2025.
