Welcome to Aries Season! It’s an astrological new year. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries invites us to find renewal and rediscover our fire. Ruled by Mars, it’s also a season to take the lead. We’re also a week away from a solar eclipse. New doors are opening.
From the cosmic waters of Pisces we are born — or reborn — in Aries. The beauty of astrology is that it’s a wheel, a circle that gives us opportunities to start over and find new perspectives in life. Aries is the ram in astrology and its two horns are a symbol, not unlike Pisces’s fish, of the duality of life — but the duality that descends to create new life.
This Aries Season we find Mars in Cancer, which means that the energy of the season points towards Cancer, a sign that is about home and family as well as finding our roots. Both Aries and Cancer are cardinal signs. They “initiate” and mark the two of the four cardinal directions. What this means is that the coming four weeks, until April 18, we may feel that life is moving forward, taking us in a new direction, turning our attention to home and family, and initiating us into new experiences.
On top of that, we have a solar eclipse in Aries on March 29. Aries is a lens into our experiences not just over the next four weeks, but over the next six months, until the Virgo solar eclipse on September 21.
Taking a leaf from Aries and Cancer, it’s time for us to find our courage and bravery, to stand up for ourselves, to put down roots, to protect what needs protecting, to create emotional connections, to build new foundations.
