The Sun and Saturn make their annual conjunction, this year at 22 Pisces. We’re beginning to come to the end of our journey with Saturn in Pisces. What have we learned about peace? Compassion? Understanding? It’s a day to step into roles of responsibility.
Since March 2023, Saturn, as the planet of lessons, has been teaching us about Pisces. And as the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces doesn’t bring easy lessons. That’s because the answers are not material nor physical. They cannot be measured or accounted for analytically. Instead, they are emotional, existential, and spiritual. The concrete energies of Saturn are instead pointed inward.
Perhaps we have been working on our intuition over the last two years, or investing our time in what really matters. Maybe we’ve really had to work hard to find peace, to transcend our sufferings, to learn to let go. (Read Saturn in Pisces: The Look Within)
That said, Saturn marks the major milestones of our lives. It takes 30 years to cross the zodiac, spending around 3 years in each sign. When Saturn is a support in our lives, we build things that are solid. We put the work in. We strive to reach our goals. We become a leader and a mentor. We set healthy boundaries and we know our limits.
On the other hand, Saturn can feel like the weight of the world on our shoulders. It shows us where the edge is and what happens when we cross it. Saturn is the planet of karma and endings as much as it is about time, growth, and maturity. (I love Saturn so much I did a 12-week masterclass on it.)
Today, we reach a checkpoint with Saturn in a story that we’ve been working through since March 2023. For some, it’s the realization of hard work and diligence, a stroke of maturity that may bring new title and status. For others, it’s a dose of reality, a measure of where we need to do better.
All of this is in advance of Friday’s lunar eclipse at 23 Virgo, opposite the Sun and Saturn in Pisces. While the Sun-Saturn conjunction is today, its energies play out into next week. It’s a call to put things in order, to draw a line, and to honor our choices and commitments.
