The Moon’s doing most of the talking this week, creating an ebb and flow as we wind down the lunar month. With the Moon in Aquarius today, we feel the energies of element air and fire. It’s a day for movement and travel, to connect with friends and community.
In astrology, the Moon is the consort of the Sun. Every four weeks they meet up to form a new moon and two weeks later stand at opposite ends of the sky to create a full moon. This dance continues, marking the different moments and chapters of our lives.
If the Sun represents the “self” as well as the fire of passion, vitality, and creativity, then the Moon is more subtle. It works on an emotional level and can reflect our wants and desires. More importantly, the Moon is how we feed ourselves symbolically.
Every few days the Moon moves into a new zodiac sign and the cosmic buffet changes. We may crave something very different than before. Perhaps we seek to go inward and rest. Or we feel a swell of energy that motivates us to play and connect with others.
A Moon traveling the sign of Aquarius turns our attention towards friends and community. We may desire to socialize, especially with those who are like-minded. Or, owing to Aquarius’s big vision and natural awareness of social issues and causes, we may feel a desire to contemplate humanitarian issues.
