Welcome to Cancer Season. The Sun’s arrival in the fourth sign of the zodiac not only brings us back to what’s important — care, nurture, and the comfort of home and loved ones — but kicks off the solstice.
Here in the northern hemisphere it’s the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. The light is at its fullest. The world is in full bloom in contrast to the dark days of the winter solstice that came six months before. Now the cycle will slowly bring us back to that point.
Cancer is the first water sign. It initiates us into the new beginnings that often come with home and family — new family members, a move, and the rituals and gatherings that connect us to the past. It also reminds us that we need to not only care for others, but to be cared for ourselves.
Venus, also in Cancer, makes a trine to Neptune today. Make time for beauty as well as love. Get caught up in the romance of life.
