Venus arrives in Cancer, the first herald that it will be summer here in the northern hemisphere soon enough. If Venus is what we love and value, then in Cancer we love family, nostalgia, and taking care of others; we value stability and security.
There’s a sweetness and gentleness to Venus in Cancer. It asks us to not only make time for the things we value the most, but to create a beautiful home or living space, to cook for loved ones, or look fondly on the past. How will you bring beauty into your home today? Fresh cut flowers? Spruce up a family heirloom?
We’re no stranger to Cancer right now. Mars has been in Cancer since April 23, motivating us to focus on our homes, to fight for something that matters the most. To that point, just a heads up, Mars is coming to an opposition to Pluto. Things are going to get testy later this week.
The Gemini Sun also sextiles Chiron. We have an opportunity to heal something. It may come in the form of a conversation or information shared or support from a friend.
Intermediate Tip – Although Venus doesn’t hold any traditional dignity in Cancer, it does evoke the Moon’s exaltation in Taurus, a Venus ruled sign. And so we know that Venus enjoys the pleasure of home and the company of family or those who are like family.
