We start the week fresh off a Cancer New Moon, one that puts added emphasis on home and family as well as the past and memories into the rest of the month. We’re in the spirit of beginnings. We’re also at a crossroads as we check in with eclipse energy.
By now, the Moon’s in Leo. Cancer is still the dominant archetype at the moment, but we get to relax and have fun while the Moon is in Leo. In fact, we’re starting to dip our toe in Leo Season this week, a sort of preview of its playful energies, as Venus arrives in Leo on July 11.
Both Cancer and Leo are signs ruled by the “luminaries”. Cancer is governed by the Moon and Leo by the Sun. They stand in contrast to Capricorn and Aquarius, the two Saturn-ruled signs at the opposite end of the zodiac. The Moon and the Sun are the light and help to weave our physical reality, symbolized by Saturn.
As previously mentioned, we’re at a crossroads this week as the Cancer Sun and the new moon energies play off the Lunar Nodes. We’re three months after an April 8 solar eclipse and three months before an October 2 solar eclipse. Time bends. People and events stand in the threshold.
