The Sun and Pluto face off for their yearly opposition, a powerful combination for transformation. It’s a day if not a week to look at the self. Pluto exposes the hidden, especially the unconscious self, the parts of our identity that we need to shine a light on.
We’re in Leo Season, the season and sign of the Sun. Regardless of what sign we are personally, we all have a Sun, which shines its light through each sign of the zodiac, like a lens. Symbolically, the Sun represents who we are and how we express ourselves. Of course, we may think of the Sun in terms of personality as well as likes and dislikes. But on a deeper esoteric level, the Sun represents the spark of the divine that lives within.
There is the positive self and the shadow self. Two sides of a whole. And yet we are working to reveal the positive self by witnessing the shadow, by transforming any perfections that prevent the light of the Sun shining through us.
With the Sun’s opposition today, we have an opportunity to see more clearly and take action to clear anything that is blocking our light. Pluto can sometimes speak in uncomfortable but necessary truths. We do have help in this process in the form of a Sun-Neptune trine and a Sun-Uranus sextile, energies that also speak of transformation and reformation, the ability to transcend our lower facets to access the higher.
Finally, the Lunar Nodes have now changed signs, moving from Pisces-Virgo to Aquarius-Leo. We’re in the midst of a subtle collective shift. The Lunar Nodes are like a compass and the cosmos is pointing us towards Aquarius, the sign of humanity and the collective.
