Chiron turns retrograde at 23 Aries, digging into a psychic knot, pulling at an old thread. There is a subtext to what we are feeling and navigating at the moment. Chiron reveals, subtly so, what needs healing. In Aries, we need to find our courage and bravery.

Chiron is a newer addition to astrology. It’s not a planet, but rather an asteroid that was discovered over 40 years ago. In that time it has revealed itself to represent a point of suffering, like a knot.

As humans, we all have something that hits a nerve. Maybe it’s a past trauma, or a personal insecurity, or a belief that holds us back. Chiron symbolically represents the story of that reoccurring pain. For example, if you were born between April 1968 and March 1977, you have Chiron in Aries, which is where Chiron is presently traveling. In Aries, the pain point may be about having the courage to move forward, blocked desires, an inability to take action, a fear of using power. (It takes Chiron 50 years to make one turn through the zodiac.)

It’s not easy to see Chiron in our day-to-day lives; it runs in the background. But we feel it, like an old ache around a story that we can’t seem to shake. (Read On Chiron, Suffering, and Knots.)

Though it may seem hard, we can heal this pain. The beauty of Chiron is that it’s symbol is a key. It says that when we take the things that have made us suffer the most and use it like medicine and inspiration for others, Chiron can then become a key and not only unlock our healing, but open up our higher potential.

Have the bravery to do something difficult today, to rise above a pain point. Do it for others, in service, as a gift of yourself and your experiences.
