The Astrology of July 2, 2026

The Moon’s in Aquarius today, a Moon that typically likes to spend time with friends and community or sharing big ideas about the world. But with the Moon in Cancer’s 8th House, this may be a more reflective day, a time to navigate the emotional complexities of life.

We’ve nearly come to the end of an eclipse cycle, one that began with an Aquarius New Moon solar eclipse on February 17. During the six-month period between the eclipses, Aquarius has been a dominant lens for our experiences.

As the 11th sign of the zodiac, Aquarius falls near the end of the zodiac, a part of the sky that is not personal, but collective. Through Aquarius we discover the systems that build and run our world. It’s also a sign of science and intellect, a vision for the future, community and society, of fairness and equity. But for as much as Aquarius has a reputation for “peace and love” fraternity, its position in the zodiac sometimes means that we are quite removed from what is familiar and there can be a sense of alienation and disconnection.

In our own way we’ve been navigating these Aquarian themes over the last five months. Use today’s moon to reflect on how Aquarius has shaped or even illuminated your experiences since February.

We’re five weeks away from a solar eclipse in Leo, a sign that will shape and illuminate our experiences into 2027 — a sign of creativity and self-expression, of identity and individuality.

If you are in AUSTRALIA or NZ, this forecast applies approximately for July 3, 2026.
