Mars and Pluto make a powerhouse alignment in Aquarius, an activation of a much larger story that will track with Pluto’s time in Aquarius over the coming years. It’s a day for reformation and transformation, especially on the level of society and humanity.
Aquarius is the 11th sign and when we reach Aquarius Season, we’ve nearly completed our journey through the zodiac. Each sign is a progression, a step as well as a revelation. Aquarius opens us up to community, the connections we forge with the people we share our town or city with as well as our place in humanity and the collective.
When planets travel a sign, they are actors on the stage of that sign that can aid or provoke us, depending on the planets there. Mars is definitely a provocateur and its time in Aquarius, until March 2, 2026, can equally inspire and motivate us within our communities, rallying behind a common cause, just as much as it can be reactive.
Pluto, on the other hand, is an evolutionary force. And while Mars spends six weeks in a sign, Pluto can spend decades. Whatever we are feeling and experiencing right now is also through the lens of Pluto in Aquarius, a sign Pluto first entered in 2023, 2024. (Read Pluto in Aquarius: Transforming Humanity.)
Today’s conjunction of Mars and Pluto at 3 degrees is part of a larger story and one that will play out over the coming years while Pluto is in Aquarius. Pluto is a reformer and transformer. But first it shows us what was always there. Even if we couldn’t see it.
What is unique about this Mars-Pluto conjunction is that it draws energy from Neptune, newly in Aries. The coming days and weeks may bring a great swell. Neptune, like Pluto, is an evolutionary force. It shows us what needs to be healed. And our healing work for the next 13 years, while Neptune is in Aries, is our relationship with power, individuality, and action — to name a few Aries archetypes.
As I’ve been mentioning, we’re only three weeks away from an Aquarius solar eclipse. It’s safe to say that we are in eclipse season, a time when doors are closing and opening, when the great stage of our lives readies for its next act. Aquarius will be a major focal point for the next six months, until August. The cosmic dance continues.
