Mercury turns retrograde at 8 degrees Capricorn. You know the drill. The coming three weeks invite us to reevaluate, reflect, and search for new perspectives. It’s a rewind on events from late November and early December. It’s a second look at our choices.
Here is your periodic reminder that all planets turn retrograde, except for the Sun and Moon. Mercury just does it the most frequently, three to four times a year, three to four weeks at a time. A retrograde symbolically reflects the inherent duality of life. Night and day. Breathing in, breathing out. We can’t always be active. We need to spend time being reflective.
Mercury Retrograde is an opportunity to be more present and aware of all your thoughts, actions, and choices. It doesn’t mean that we have to put our lives on hold for three weeks, unless that’s what you prefer. Of course, Mercury Retrograde can disrupt and play tricks. Is it possible we needed to get perspective that could have only been gained through a disruption?
This Mercury Retrograde takes us between Capricorn and Sagittarius, between the material and immaterial. While the Sun is in Sagittarius, until next week, this retrograde will be about taking a second look at money and income, how we use our resources and how we earn a living. It will also be about the value and importance of our relationships. When the Sun crosses into Capricorn and Mercury goes behind the Sun, we will change gears, turning our attention to our intuition, our spirituality, and the search for deeper answers.
Mercury will turn direct on January 1, 2024 at 22 degrees Sagittarius.
