Welcome to April. We’ve got an action packed month ahead, starting with an Aries New Moon solar eclipse on April 8, just a week away. In the run up, we’re feeling the energies of transition. Time bends and shifts. The stage of our lives readies for the next act.
Aries is the energy of initiation. It forges new beginnings. It pushes us forward. It’s the spark of life.
The irony is that Mercury turns retrograde today, a pump on the breaks, a need for cooler heads and second opinions. Despite Mercury Retrograde’s pop cultural veneer, a retrograde simply is a yin phase. It’s a need to go inward, to reflect and consult our intuition, or to look at the past. A retrograde is a necessary process.
Mercury in Aries, the sign of its retrograde, has a habit of being brash and acting before thinking. Of course, there are merits to Mercury in Aries. It’s quick thinking. It has the courage to use its voice. It moves fast.
Perhaps we need to slow down this Aries Season, especially as we come up to a solar eclipse. Perhaps we need to reflect before taking action or listen to our gut or wait until the end of April to move forward.
Mercury turns retrograde at 27 degrees and turns direct on April 25 at 16 degrees.
