Welcome to the Sagittarius New Moon. The page turns after a powerful eclipse-fueled month. As the planet of faith and knowledge, Sagittarius inspires us to search and to ask why, to open up our eyes to the world and beyond, to seek out new adventures. The new moon is exact on November 23 at 5:58 pm ET, 1 degree Sagittarius. That’s 3:58 pm Los Angeles, 10:58 pm London, 12:58 am Johannesburg on November 24, 9:58 am Sydney, and 11:58 am Auckland.
New moons are new beginnings. They open up a space of time, one that is lived through the archetype of the sign that it falls in. Sagittarius brings us towards the light of truth; it’s a fire sign after all, and one that brings us into the last quadrant of the zodiac and onto our final journey towards Pisces, the final sign.
The transition from water of Scorpio to the fire of Sagittarius is a rebirth, one born out of deep emotional alchemy and awareness. Scorpio strips away any artifice and illusion. It reveals something to us in the process. And it’s that awareness and renewed consciousness that we bring with us into Sagittarius.
It’s a lunar month to search our faith, remember what we stand for and believe in, or align ourselves with something new. Faith comes from lived experiences, but there’s the faith that pulls us forward, sends us out into the world to explore and discover.
Sagittarius is known for being a worldly sign. It revels in different cultures and languages. It finds adventure in far flung destinations. It has an insatiable curiosity to learn and to grow. As a result, we’re invited to discover the world over the coming days and weeks, perhaps longing for another land and booking our next destination.
But at the core of Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, is a deep need to answer bigger questions. What is the meaning of life? What is my mission and purpose? What do I believe in? With Mars in Gemini opposing four planets in Sagittarius, the coming four weeks will push us to take action or communicate our beliefs and convictions in dynamic ways.
We also find Jupiter in Pisces, about to turn direct at 28 degrees, alongside Neptune in Pisces. There’s a pull towards Pisces with this new moon, a reminder that knowledge and wisdom comes from outside of us, but ultimately has to be found within. The mind can only get us so far. So what of the heart and the soul?
That said, we need to spend the next four weeks going within as much as we are searching the world. There’s a meditative quality to Jupiter in Pisces, especially with Neptune in conjunction. Here we find spirituality and mysticism, dreams and intuition.
Both Sagittarius, Gemini, and Pisces are signs looking for answers. They just find them in different places. As a result, the coming weeks will push us to learn and discover, to find answers in the quiet. With so much shaking up over the last month or so, make sure you set aside time to reflect and let something be revealed to you, a spark of wisdom that pulls you forward.
