Happy Sagittarius New Moon! This is the time in the lunar calendar when we set off on new adventures, opening ourselves up to the world in search of new ideas and new perspectives. Ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius is a sign that inspires us to grow as well as to have the courage to leave what’s overly familiar for the experiences that will expand our horizons. The new moon is exact on November 26, 2019 at 10:05 am EST, 4 degrees Sagittarius. That’s 7:05 am Los Angeles, 3:05 pm London, 2:05 am Sydney on November 27, and 4:05 am Auckland.

New moons are new beginnings and they create a lens that energetically colors our experiences and interactions over the coming four weeks. As we step out of the emotional intensities and darkness of Scorpio, we’re ready to feel alive again. We’ve learned powerful lessons and it’s shaped how we see ourselves as well as what we believe in. We have meaning and purpose again, or at least that’s the idea.

Because Sagittarius is the sign of travel, wisdom, faith, and law, we may be planning a major trip abroad or thinking about setting off on a journey or even a pilgrimage. We’re trying to make sense of our lives and the world in the coming weeks as we look at life from a more philosophical perspective. We’re standing up for what we believe in and sharing our opinions. We’re turning to different traditions and cultures to show us a new way of thinking of things. We may even be looking at legal matters, too.

It’s important to note that Jupiter’s still in Sagittarius, a sign that it calls home. While Jupiter will arrive in Capricorn on December 2, we’re still feeling the effects if not expansiveness of Jupiter in Sagittarius with this new moon. After all, Jupiter has a tendency to supersize things.

Jupiter is big. It thinks and does things on a grand scale. Wherever the new moon is falling in your chart may get a major boost over the coming weeks since Jupiter in Sagittarius dominates the chart of the new moon. It may also inflate or make larger an existing issue in some cases. (Not sure what part of your chart this moon is activating? Read my Jupiter in Sagittarius: Sign by Sign guide or watch my weekly astrology video.)

That said, Jupiter does have a well deserved reputation for benevolence and hopefully we’re feeling its protection as well as welcoming in new opportunities courtesy of Jupiter in its home sign. And with Neptune turning direct in Pisces tomorrow, November 27, we’re feeling more spiritual and mystical than usual.

It’s also worth noting that Jupiter is nearing the final degree of Sagittarius and this new moon may bring a sense of closure on all the hard work we’ve been doing in 2019. There have been times this year that we’ve struggled with faith, struggled to have optimism, or struggles to see new horizons. Has our faith paid off? Keep an eye on the next 5-6 days as Jupiter arrives in Capricorn and arcs towards Uranus in Taurus. The energies of the new moon may kick into gear and we may see an unexpected opportunity.

That said, try something new in the coming days. Explore the world, even if it’s from the comfort of your own home. Read up on philosophy and have a spirited debate with someone. Be open to new perspectives and the wisdom of others. We can be sure that there’s something in our lives that will expand and grow over the coming weeks. Have faith.
