Welcome to the Sagittarius Full Moon, the time in the lunar calendar when the spotlight is on travel and exploration, wisdom and knowledge, the search for truth and meaning. Sagittarius helps us to look to the stars, to find the inspiration to go beyond ourselves. The full moon is exact on June 11, 2025 at 3:44 am ET, 20 degrees Sagittarius-Gemini. That’s 12:44 am Los Angeles, 8:44 am London, 9:44 am Johannesburg, 1:14 pm New Delhi, 5:44 pm Sydney, and 7:44 pm Auckland.
Full moons are decision points, a time when something in our lives is in the spotlight. We see the seeds that we planted two weeks before, at the time of the new moon, come into bloom. Full moons can coincide with personal events and mark the passage of the year.
To understand Sagittarius, we need to understand the zodiac. Sagittarius is the ninth sign out of twelve, so near the end. It touches on a part of life — and the zodiac is symbolic of life in all its facets — that takes us out of ourselves and into the world.
By comparison, Gemini, the sign on the opposite end of the wheel from Sagittarius, is about education and language — how we individually speak, listen, learn, and even make choices. Gemini is the third sign and, along with Aries, Taurus, and Cancer, describe our fundamental experiences as well as the building blocks of life.
Sagittarius is not a personal sign. Sure, it can shape our personal experiences, but Sagittarius’s role is to remind us that there is a whole great big world out there, both literally and metaphorically. It inspires us to want more, to know more, to see more. We may get on a plane to do so, exploring different countries and cultures and flavors. Or we may do so through university or through philosophy and spirituality.
So, a Sagittarius Full Moon is always a push for us to look to the stars, to think bigger, and to go beyond ourselves.
Where do you feel the call right now? This full moon may be a call to travel. Or to focus on our education. Or it may be more philosophical or spiritual. Maybe Sagittarius is instead a call to tell a story, to publish our ideas, or to rally others behind a cause.
What’s interesting with this full moon is that it points to Jupiter newly in Cancer. Which is to say that this full moon is an introduction to Jupiter in Cancer. As much as we are looking towards the stars, we also need to not lose sight of home.
Cancer, is both a cardinal sign and a water sign. It initiates us into new experiences in life. It wants familiarity and connection. Perhaps this full moon is to get clear about the role of family and connection in our lives, to put down roots in new spaces that allow us to grow and thrive.
Jupiter also squares Saturn and Neptune in Aries. We may be contemplating big decisions, ones that touch on existential themes. What do I believe in? What kind of life do I want? What is my purpose?
Finally, it’s important to note that this full moon, while not an eclipse, may have eclipse-like energy. After all, the full moon squares the Lunar Nodes in Pisces and Virgo, currently at 23 degrees. Doors may open and close this week and next. We may see events from March come into focus. Or, we may see a preview of events to come in September.
Regardless, a supportive trine from Mars in Leo gives us the courage to stay true to ourselves and to make inspired choices that help us to move forward.
