Welcome to the Pisces Full Moon. This is the time in the zodiac calendar when the spotlight is on matters of faith and conviction, forgiveness and compassion. It’s when we’re asked to surrender, releasing and healing anything that’s weighing us down. The full moon is exact on September 2 at 1:22 am EDT, 10 degrees Pisces. That’s 10:22 pm Los Angeles on September 1, 6:22 am London on September 2, 3:22 pm Sydney, and 5:22 pm Auckland.
Ruled by Jupiter, Pisces helps us to discover inner truth, the wisdom cultivated through reflection and meditation. It’s a very spiritual sign, occupying the last place in the zodiac wheel, forming a bridge between one life and the next. Because of this it’s the least grounded of all the signs, instead leading us through dreams, intuition, or anything in our unconscious mind.
For a full moon to happen in Pisces, the Sun has to be in Virgo. After all, we’re in Virgo Season. The spotlight is on everything that, at first glance, seems opposite of Pisces. Virgo is the day-to-day physical reality of life. It’s brushing our teeth, following a schedule, going to work — things that seem very mundane compared to the mysticism and subjectiveness of Pisces. So this is a full moon to find the balance between our physical lives and our spiritual lives, to find practical magic.
At the heart of Virgo and Pisces is a need to heal and a need to serve. Therefore this full moon is a demand for healing, a demand that we consider something greater than ourselves. As the last water sign, Pisces reminds us of our compassion, our capacity to forgive and redeem, our necessity to heal and let go of what we no longer need to hold onto.
With that in mind, you maybe feel a call right now, a call that is greater than yourself. Perhaps it’s your intuition or higher self speaking. Perhaps it’s a call from Source/God/Spirit. We cannot stay stuck in our worldly lives. However necessary Virgo is as a sign, it needs to be balanced by the spiritual curiosity and exploration of Pisces.
In the chart of the full moon, the strong aspect that the full moon makes is an exact sextile to Uranus in Taurus. There’s a possibility to receive new vision with this full moon and then bring it into reality, one that may foster a very different life that’s been brewing and building since 2019 when Uranus entered Taurus.
Although it’s a bit wide, the full moon also makes a conjunction to Neptune in Pisces. When Neptune is involved in matters, we have to realize that it’s not what we want, it’s what Spirit wants. We can’t do ego with Neptune. There’s distortion when we do. We have to surrender and open up to higher callings and higher purposes.
That said, we may feel very emotional with this full moon. And what we’re feeling may not just be our emotions, but something that makes us feel a collective suffering. Be gentle. Find compassion and empathy. See something from someone’s perspective. Be open to a higher plan. Find spiritual healing. Surrender something that is long past need to go.
