Welcome to May, a time when we reconnect to the earth, to the fundamentals of life. We’re in Taurus Season, which means that it’s time to focus on money and material need as well as the resources we need to thrive in uncertain times.

But this is a Taurus Season that is unlike previous ones as we live the sign through Uranus, also in Taurus. It’s a season that’s shaking up our relationship with resource and money as well as the very tectonic plates of our lives.  It’s also asking that we prioritize cooking and baking, pleasure and the natural world. After all, this is the season when the natural world is in full bloom and we experience a renewal of life, something that we can’t take for granted anymore.

This month the great cosmic gears are shifting as Saturn, Venus, and Jupiter change direction. Mars and Mercury change signs, too. Plus, the lunar nodes change signs. As a result, we may see a lot of change or a change in the narrative this month.

First, let’s start with the lunar nodes. With so much going on this month astrologically, it’s easy to lose the Lunar Nodes in the shuffle, but the North Node moving from Cancer to Gemini on May 6 is a big deal. If the North Node is a compass pointing us in the direction to where we need to individually and collectively head towards, the North Node in Cancer — at least of late — has been pointing us towards home. As a result, we’ve literally been in our homes. Prior to that, 2018-2019 was a call for us to prioritize what really mattered as well as what truly nurtured us.

In Gemini, the North Node points us towards movement and travel, towards communication and learning. It’s a restless and marked shift. Will we all start to be moving and traveling more starting in May? We’ll see. Certainly we’re entering an eighteen month period of time where we need new ideas and new perspectives, leaving behind the rigidity of Sagittarius. We need to take classes and get back to basics.

This also means that the eclipses are going to start to shift from Cancer and Capricorn to Gemini and Sagittarius. And, as we enter May, we’re on the cusp of eclipse season. With the first in this new series arriving on June 5, we may start to see our eclipse stories manifest in May as it’s not uncommon to start to see eclipse energy come in the month before. (If you’re a Gemini or a Sagittarius, you’re on the edge of a major personal shift.) So, just a heads up. May might start to shake things up, opening doors while closing others.

On May 7, a full moon puts the spotlight on Scorpio, a sign that speaks of transformation and rebirth, turning our attention towards uncomfortable emotional material, the psyche, and anything we’re afraid to share with others. We’re also looking at themes around intimacy and trust, money and power. And with Mars in Aquarius, we need to take responsibility for the things we haven’t been taking responsibility towards, especially past traumas and pain, so we can find healing.

Saturn turns retrograde at 1 Aquarius on May 11, marking the furthest Saturn will travel in the sign this year before retrograding back to Capricorn on July 1. Make note of any stories or milestones that come up around this time. They will be a part of a story that will evolve in 2021 and 2022 with Saturn back in Aquarius. (Read more about Saturn in Aquarius in Saturn in Aquarius: Building Humanity.)

Speaking of retrogrades, Venus turns retrograde at 21 Gemini on May 13. As the planet of love and money, Venus Retrograde is a time for us to get a second look at what we value, how we earn a living, what we spend our money on, and how we connect in a relationship. It’s not uncommon for an old love to resurface during Venus Retrograde, either to try again at the relationship or to tie up loose ends so the both of you can fully move on. Since Gemini is the sign of choice, we may have to reevaluate our choices this month. (Venus will be retrograde until June 25.)

On the same day, Mars enters Pisces for a six week stay, a sign where Mars, the planet of action and drive, has to learn to surrender. Pisces is a spiritual and compassionate sign, so our actions and our initiatives has to be aligned with Pisces. Additionally, this is a Mars that can’t push forward selfishly. It has to learn see itself as part of the bigger picture, to take action towards a greater cause or put the needs of others before itself.

Jupiter turns retrograde on May 14 at 26 Capricorn. Remember, Jupiter has been in a dance with Pluto over the past month or so and its change of direction may reverberate on the level of government and power, an area that Capricorn has domain over. But on a personal level, we may need to confront something around what we put our faith in or even feel our faith in the world get rattled.

Gemini Season starts on May 20 followed closely by a Gemini New Moon on May 22. This is the season to focus on movement and travel, on communication and information. With Mercury also in Gemini as of May 11, we’re feeling this need to get out and move even more. Plus, we’re only two weeks way from a lunar eclipse. The curtain is about to come down on one act. The scene is getting ready to shift. New characters are about to enter the stage. Are you ready?

With you during these times.

Aries

March 21–April 19

Aries Glyph

There’s a lot of big gear shifts this month, Aries, not least is Mars’s arrival in Pisces on May 13. If the past few weeks have been busy or even social, with friends reaching out to connect virtually, then Mars’s switch into Pisces starts six weeks of pulling back, rest, and inward reflection. See, Mars is your ruling planet. It sets the tempo for your life. In Aquarius until the middle of the month, you’re thinking hard, looking towards the future, and tending to your various networks, groups, and social circles. But, after May 13, Mars will spend the rest of the month as well as most of June in spiritual Pisces. That said, it’s Taurus Season for most of May, a sign that turns you toward your material life and material needs. Money, resource, and income are especially highlighted for you. And, with Uranus also in Taurus, you may be thinking of new or inventive ways to earn a living. (This is a good time, if you can or if it’s appropriate, for you to pivot what you do online. If you’ve resisted making a website or setting a business up virtually, you’re really getting a push this month to do so.) Speaking of which, your money planet, Venus, turns retrograde on May 11 and will be retrograde until June 25. Use this time wisely and to your advantage. Retrogrades aren’t inherently bad despite their more common reputation. Instead, it’s a time to reevaluate and get a new perspective. Is it possible that something that you didn’t value or took for granted now looks different in a new light? It’s time to also look past old illusions around money, especially as Venus turns retrograde square Neptune. Further, a full moon in Scorpio on May 7 puts a spotlight on wealth, debt, loans, and taxes. You may be taking a closer look at credit and finance and needing to take action towards your future. You may also be facing fears as well as facing powerful feelings with the full moon. Be present with what’s coming up for you emotionally and psychically. The big story this month is Saturn’s retrograde turn on May 11. If you remember back in March, when Saturn dipped into Aquarius for a short preview, our lives began to pivot in a new direction. After all, Saturn is the master time keeper, setting the pace and rhythm for everyone. What has opened up or changed for you since March 21? Do keep in mind that this new time is about friendship and community, even if it’s just a preview. (Saturn leaves Aquarius on July 1, but returns on December 17.) So, pay attention to what stories around friendship and community come up around the middle of the month. They’re part of a bigger story that will unfold until March 2023. Jupiter also changes direction on May 14, turning retrograde in Capricorn, your career sign. It’s possible that you’ve seen a lot of changes, new directions, and new opportunities over the last year. Jupiter brought growth even while you had to take on new responsibilities and step up your professional game. It’s not to say that Jupiter retrograde until September 12 will lessen growth and new opportunities, but it does mean that you’re spending the new few months integrating and making stronger what has come in since December. Lastly, a Gemini New Moon on May 22 kicks off Gemini Season and reminds us that the eclipses are going to start picking up in Gemini and Sagittarius, shifting from Cancer and Capricorn where they’ve been since 2018. The bigger story is beginning to shift in your life and the next 18 months will bring in new experiences in travel and education. As a result, you may see a lot of movement and new ideas later this month, part of a larger trend. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: Money, income, salary, resource, material needs, material life, what you own, value, worth, self worth, finance, wealth, debt, spending, loans, taxes, the deep self, the psyche, facing fears, facing self, emotional health, transformation, friends, community, social circle, social networks, the future, social causes, hopes, dreams, wishes, retreat, rest, recuperation, spirituality, meditation, spiritual connection, letting go, communication, learning, education, classes, information, travel, the neighborhood.

Taurus

April 20–May 20

Taurus Glyph

Happy birthday, Taurus! It’s not your usual birthday season. Then again, with Uranus in Taurus right now, the planet of reinvention as well as surprises, this wasn’t going to be the usual birthday celebration. Let’s talk about that for a moment. Because it’s important, as always, to keep the bigger picture in focus as we navigate the uncertainties of the present moment. With Uranus in Taurus as of March 2019, you’re in a longer chapter of personal reinvention, revolution, and transformation. Maybe, as you look back and reflect on your life over the last year, you see the beginnings of a profound shift. Maybe you’re not the same person you were a year ago. Maybe you look different. Maybe your day-to-day life is radically different. The whole purpose of this time is to embolden you to get out of your way. And, Taurus, you have a habit of stubbornly getting in your way. (Ring a bell?) Here’s the thing. The astrology is rapidly propelling you forward and it’s best to work with it instead of against it. As you blow out the (virtual) candles on your birthday cake, think about what changes you want to make in your life. It’s possible that the quarantine period has you rethinking what you value as well as what is important. So, what changes are you making after this time out? Speaking of reevaluation, Venus, your ruling planet, turns retrograde on May 13. This is nothing to get anxious about. (Retrogrades are a natural part of life and Venus turns retrograde every 18 months.) But it’s important to understand that it’s not business as usual in the second half of the month. You’re taking a second look at what you own, how you earn a living, and the resources you need. It’s a time to pull back instead of move forward. Two other planets turn retrograde this month: Saturn and Jupiter. With Saturn in your career sign, giving you a preview of the next big chapter of your life, it’s retrograde turn on May 11 is a check in with a story that will unfold into early 2023. Saturn’s asking you a simple question. What do you want to be when you grow up? Doesn’t matter if you’re 25 or 65 years old. As you transform and reinvent yourself, your direction as well as your career may be shifting to match the new you. Also, Jupiter’s retrograde turn on May 14 touches on themes of faith and truth. Do you still believe? In the world? In yourself? This also highlights how you’re in a time where it’s important to expand how you see the world and see yourself in the world, from education to travel. Obviously travel is a bit limited at the moment, but see how you can connect to that energy in other ways. Let’s not forget the Scorpio Full Moon on May 7, which puts the spotlight on relationships. It may be a busy time to connect with people, even virtually. But it also asks bigger questions about what you want out of a relationship and what your goals are with a relationship. If you’re currently in a partnership, how do you take it to the next level? Mars also changes signs on May 13, moving into Pisces until the end of June and, during this time, friendships and community take importance. Lastly, Gemini Season and a Gemini New Moon on May 22 also puts the focus on money, income, and material stability into June. With Venus Retrograde in aspect to Neptune, however, you may find that this season is asking to shed any illusions or material attachments that are no longer supporting and serving you. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: New beginnings, reinvention, transformation, awakening, shake ups, shocks, seismic shifts, relationships, other people, social connection, socialization, partnership, responsibility, direction, career, maturity, public life, values, worth, money, income, spending, what you own, material needs, stability, security, trust, resources, self worth, worldview, faith, truth, meaning, beliefs, philosophy, education, travel, classes, information, ideas, movement, neighborhood.

Gemini

May 21–June 20

Gemini Glyph

For you, Taurus Season marks the end of your personal journey through the zodiac year. It’s the time to slow down, reflect, and turn inward. What worked over the last eleven months? What didn’t? With Mercury in Taurus until May 11, you may also feel more tired than usual in the first half of the month, your dreams more vivid, your need to shed the past stronger. You could say that May has a bit of an existential feel to it. What does it all mean? Where am I going? Note that Saturn turns retrograde on May 11 after giving you a preview of the next big chapter of your life, a chapter that’s about the search for truth and meaning, about faith and wisdom. You may need to get clearer about what you believe in this month, defining your convictions as well as your truth. All this after what was possibly a difficult past few years that tested your faith. (Incidentally you may also be thinking about going back to school or other educational pursuits.) Another area of focus this month is work and career. From a full moon on May 7 putting a spotlight on making a decision about work or a project to Mars’s arrival in Pisces on May 13, you’ll be hustling and getting things done in the second half of the month as well as going after new work and new leads. But Mars’s time in Pisces is more about taking actionable steps towards going after your goals and ambitions and having to deal with responsibilities. The thing is that having Pisces as your career sign means that you need to not only do what you love, but what you do needs to be aligned with a bigger purpose. May is a check in with this. And with Jupiter, your career planet, still hanging out with Pluto in Capricorn, May could bring a shift in your professional life to get you more in alignment with your higher calling. Mercury also arrives in Gemini on May 11, marking a return to yourself after a long trip around the zodiac. You feel more social, more chatty, and full of new ideas. And when the Sun arrives in Gemini on May 20 it’s time to celebrate your birthday season and appreciate just how far you’ve come in the last year. A Gemini New Moon on May 22 gives you a powerful new beginning, but one that asks if the direction you’re going in is the direction you should really be going in? Where does your soul and Spirit think you should be going? Lastly, a heads up. We’re a month away from eclipse season, the first eclipse coming on June 5 in Sagittarius, your relationship sign. 2020 is going to be a big year for you, one of new relationships, new people coming into your life, or a need to make necessary changes in existing relationships. Get ready! Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: Retreat, rest, reflection, dreams, spirituality, spiritual health, letting go, existential questions, searching for meaning, truth, faith, wisdom, education, direction, career, professional life, ambitions, responsibilities, the public, work, projects, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, schedule, rituals, colleagues, new beginnings, renewal, new directions, crossroads.

Cancer

June 21–July 22

Cancer Glyph

You’re starting to come to the end of your zodiac year, Cancer. And what a year it’s been. Think back to your last birthday and compare it to where you are now. See any difference? On one hand, Taurus Season is a time for you to look ahead, to plan, hope, dream, and wish for the future. But, you may also be digging into yourself and sorting through the past at the same time. What needs to shift for you to align with the future you want? Keep in mind that Saturn turns retrograde this month on May 11 after dipping into Aquarius for a brief preview. This three month sneak peak, which ends on July 1, is meant to give you a heads up that a significant chapter of your life is about to change. The next few years, from December 2020 to March 2023 is all about you working on the deepest parts of yourself, including your emotional and mental health, your shadow, and any fears about intimacy and connection. And you may be feeling those themes surface in May. This month is also meant to be a social time, one where you reach out to friends and spend time in your community, although that may be a bit hard at the moment with varying restrictions and social distancing. Instead, you may be doing that virtually. Speaking of other people, relationships are still a hot spot in your chart at the moment and will continue to be into July. Jupiter’s retrograde turn on May 14 may bring something up in an existing relationship, especially any deeper issues or struggles as Jupiter is still lining up with Pluto. (A lunar eclipse on July 5 may bring closure to a relationship story that began in 2018.) In fact, Venus turns retrograde this month on May 13 for a 40 day look at old relationships patterns, karmic themes, and any relationship themes we picked up from family and parental dynamics. How will you heal the past? What do you need to let go of during this period of reevaluation? Let’s not forget about a full moon on May 7 that puts creativity, self expression, identity, and personal power in the spotlight. It’s also a time to look at any self destructive patterns. A common theme seems to be emerging this month — taking care of yourself, body, mind, and soul. Asking yourself the hard questions. Being willing to transform so you can reach those greater goals and ambitions for the future. The Sun’s arrival in Gemini on May 20 followed by a new moon on May 22 means that it’s time to prepare for the coming new year, going behind the scenes to reflect, rest, and look within. Use the remaining part of the month to focus on your spiritual life. With eclipse season on the horizon, you’re straddling two different chapters, beginning one while wrapping up another. Make self care a priority. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: Friends, social circle, social network, community, social causes, humanity, looking ahead, the future, hopes, dreams, wishes, emotional health, the psyche, facing yourself, facing fears, the deep self, self destruction, intimacy, vulnerability, sexuality, the past, letting go, finance, assets, debt, taxes, wealth, creativity, identity, self expression, talent, individuality, retreat, recuperation, going within, spirituality, spiritual health, meditation, reflection.

Leo

July 23–August 22

Leo Glyph

How’s it going, Leo? Have the tectonic plates of your life been shifting? The two big areas of your life that you may be seeing things move are career and relationships. First, let’s talk about career. It’s Taurus Season, after all, and Taurus is Leo’s career sign. And I know I’ve been saying this for quite some time, but it’s important to state again that you’re in the midst of a career overhaul. Obviously this means different things to all the Leos reading this. For some, you may have seen major shifts in career and direction since March 2019 (or even as early as May 2018). From leaving behind one career path to set off on something completely new. For others, you’ve seen your place in life radically shift, from having to step up in the world to seeing ups and downs and uncertainty about your path. At the core of this time, which lasts for the next five to six years, is a need to step into a direction or career that is better aligned with who you are. If fact, May is a big check in with this story not only with the Sun moving through Taurus, but Venus turning retrograde on May 13. See, Venus is your career planet and its retrograde turn from May 13 to June 25 is a time to reevaluate things and gain new perspective. Venus turning retrograde in Gemini means that you need to go back to your community, reach out to your profession network, and get the perspective of others. Has the advice and counsel of others been a missing component? Then there’s relationships. As of March 21, Saturn is now in your relationship sign of Aquarius. As much as career is a big focus right now, relationships also demand your attention, from a primary romantic partnership to a need to step up and connect with people in a new way. But Saturn is only giving you a preview and its retrograde turn on May 11 is a reminder to take note of the themes and experiences you’re having with the major people in your life because you will be returning to them more concretely at the end of the year. If something comes up between you and a partner this month, try to look for the deeper lesson. Do you need to commit more? Take a relationship more seriously? Do you need to work to connect more to other people? Is there an imbalance in how you overly or underly relate to others? Do people simply need more of your time? That said, the other area of focus this month is home and family. A Scorpio Full Moon on May 7 puts the spotlight on the foundation of your life. As a result, you may need to make a decision about a matter in the home, from where to live to a need to make a change in your living situation. Although the current pandemic is not the most ideal time to move, that may factor in. Or, simply, all this time at home has illuminated some changes you need to make. Parents and family members might also need your attention as well as your responsibility at this time. On May 14, Jupiter turns retrograde (yes, three planets turn retrograde this month), and it’s a time to revisit the (hopefully) positive changes you’ve been making to your health as well as how you take care of your body. Looking further ahead, a Gemini New Moon on May 22 turns your attention towards friends and community for the rest of the month. After everything that’s been going on, it’s a good time to check in with friends or reach out to allies. It’s also a season to start looking ahead, sketching out what you want the rest of your year to look like ideally. Thankfully Gemini will help you to create a flexible plan and strategy. The world has certainly shown us that anything is possible over the last two months. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: Career, direction, public life, ambitions, responsibilities, career changes, new directions, career overhaul, career redirection, new insights, community, connection, social circle, professional network, networking, allies, groups, looking ahead, the future, hopes, dreams, wishes, social causes, humanity, relationships, other people, one-on-one connection, socialization, compromise, negotiation, finding balance, partnership, commitment, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, work, projects, home, family, roots, foundation, memories, past, security, home security.

Virgo

August 23–September 22

Virgo Glyph

What do you believe in, Virgo? Who or what do you put your faith in? Do you need to shake up how you see the world as well as yourself in the world? May is a check in with a longer story that will play out over the next few years. Call it an awakening, an opening, or the chaos that comes with dealing with a world upside down. Nevertheless, May is a month to gain new ideas and vision, to let old judgements fall away, and reevaluate what it all means. With Venus turning retrograde on May 13, pay attention to how the second half of this month informs this story of awakening. Take a (virtual) class that you wouldn’t normally take. See the world so to speak from the perspective of others. A full moon on May 7 puts the spotlight on learning and communication. You may have something to say or a conversation or message may demand that you take action, especially in regards to a project, a health matter, or work. Speaking of health, you’re at the very beginning of a new chapter in your life, one that demands that you be more serious about how you take care of your body, the foods you eat, and the daily discipline needed to keep life humming along. With Saturn turning retrograde on May 11, it’s a check-in with this new chapter. (Saturn’s like the parent or the life coach of the zodiac. Make sure you’re eating your vegetables.) On the same day, Mercury, your ruling planet, moves into Gemini till May 28. For the rest of the month you’re focusing on your professional life, from taking care of responsibilities to pushing forward in your career. Then on May 14 Mars arrives in Pisces, where it will remain until the end of June. If you know your astrology, Pisces is your relationship sign, so there are a couple of important things to keep in mind. If you are in a relationship and there is an existing difficulty between you and a partner, Mars will likely bring it to the surface. Communication may be heated. How will you negotiate and compromise? If you’re not in a relationship, pay attention to how you’re interacting with people. Are you needing to be more defensive or stand up for yourself? On the flip side, your interactions with others may help you to be vulnerable and open up on a deeper level. By May 20 the Sun moves into Gemini, kicking off a new season, one that places your focus on your career and the world. A Gemini New Moon on May 22 gives you a new beginning as well as a fresh start. Use the rest of the month to advance your goals and ambitions. If recent changes in the world mean you’re looking for work or need to recalibrate your professional life, Gemini Season is the perfect time to do so. Note that June kicks off eclipse season and a lunar eclipse on June 5 puts the spotlight on home and family. You may be on the verge of seeing big changes in your living situation as the eclipse may bring a move, a change in the family, or a need to put down roots. More on that in next month’s horoscope. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: Faith, truth, meaning, worldview, right and wrong, travel, seeing the world, education, philosophy, beliefs, legal matters, career, professional life, the world, ambition, goals, career reevaluation, responsibilities, recognition, the public, work, projects, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of your body, rituals, schedule, relationships, partnerships, other people, needing to negotiate, needing to compromise, charged conversations, ideas, information, messages, news, classes, learning, communication, speaking, reading, writing.

Libra

September 23–October 22

Libra Glyph

When Venus, your ruling planet, entered Gemini back on April 3, you commenced a four month chapter where you’re feeling a call to explore your faith, find truth, seek meaning, and cultivate wisdom. When you look back on the last month, have you been searching more? Have you been living life and expressing yourself through a more philosophical lens? In another version of reality, this could have been a time of increased travel, especially foreign travel, but instead you’re having to experience the world virtually at the moment. That said, what’s coming up for you right now? Are you sure how you’re seeing things is the truth? When Venus turns retrograde on May 13, you’re entering a six week period of having to reevaluate what you believe in, to get a new perspective on faith, to reexamine your deepest self and how that shapes how you see the world. Maybe something is coming up from the past or from childhood, something that marked what you believe in. And with all that’s going on in the world, maybe it’s time to let it go and see things differently. Taurus Season is a time when you have to reach into the deepest parts of yourself, to face your shadows, your fears, and transform. It’s also a time to examine what vulnerability and intimacy mean to you. Further, Taurus Season also speaks about money and material need. A Scorpio Full Moon on May 7 puts the spotlight on income — how you earn it, how you spend it — and taking the necessary action to create more material stability in your life. True, the ground has been shaking beneath the feet of many people right now. And some of you may be doing well while others are experiencing more of a financial strain. The full moon may put a lot of things in perspective financially, pushing you to be creative and take more of a risk. With Saturn turning retrograde on May 11, you’re also getting a nudge from the universe to take your talents and take yourself more seriously. Speaking of retrogrades, Jupiter also turns retrograde on May 13 in your sign of home and family. Take note of any shifts, seismic or otherwise, on the home front. This year, as crazy as it’s been so far, is a year to break down walls and anything from the past that’s been limiting you. Jupiter’s retrograde is a check-in on this process. Also on May 13, Mars arrives in Pisces, your sign of health and wellness, kicking off six weeks of needing to prioritize self care both physically and emotionally. If you’ve been off your fitness routine with the pandemic, the second half of May is a time to recommit to anything that helps you to have optimal health during these times. You may need to work or focus on projects more, too. Then on May 20 the Sun arrives in Gemini followed by a new moon on May 22. You’re feeling a pull to explore, travel, and connect with the world. While traveling may be a bit difficult at the moment, you’re reaching out in other ways. Education is also a priority at this time. But keep in mind that Venus is still retrograde in Gemini. It’s still a season to reevaluate your faith as well as your truth. Try to see the bigger picture, especially anything hiding behind old illusions and fantasies. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: The deep self, emotional health, the psyche, the shadow, transformation, internal work, awakenings, breakthroughs, breakdowns, intimacy, vulnerability, sexuality, money, finances, assets, possessions, wealth, debt, material stability, material need, resources, income, spending, a partner’s income, value, worth, self worth, safety, the self, self expression, creativity, talent, children, home, family, living situation, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, work, projects, schedule, ritual.

Scorpio

October 23–November 21

Scorpio Glyph

If there was any sign that was ready to spend weeks at home it’s you, Scorpio. Between Saturn’s arrival in Aquarius on March 21 followed by Mars on March 30, there’s been a big emphasis on Aquarius in your chart, your sign of home, family, and putting down roots right now. While Mars is more of a temporary influence, Saturn’s arrival speaks to a bigger shift that’s unfolding in your life, one that says, it’s time to settle down, whatever that term means for you. So, now that you’ve possibly been spending a lot of time at home of late, what’s shifted for you? Do you have a newfound appreciation for where you live? Are you thinking about moving to something bigger or better? Or, because of other circumstances, do you need a safe place to live more than ever? Regardless, it’s important to consider what home, family, and roots mean to you at this phase of your life. With Saturn turning retrograde on May 11, what you’re experiencing now is only a sneak peek. Think of it as the start of a story, one that will unfold until March 2023. Mars, on the other hand, leaves Aquarius for Pisces on May 13, turning some of the focus from home to creativity, play, and romance. You may be feeling artistic over the coming weeks or just more sensitive than usual as Pisces is known for its deep empathy in addition to its intuition. If romance is in the cards it helps that it’s Taurus Season, your season for relationship, connection, and socializing. (You’re just going to have to get creative if you’re social distancing.) Maybe you’ve had people reaching out to you in spite of the quarantine. Do keep in mind that Taurus Season is a check-in with a much bigger story of completely reinventing relationships in your life, from how you connect and socialize to how you partner. New people are meant to come in that shake up and awaken you. Maybe you’re seeing that unfold in its own way during the pandemic. A Scorpio Full Moon on May 7 puts you in the spotlight. Time to get noticed and be seen as well as focus on this chapter in your life around putting down roots. Speaking of relationships, your relationship planet Venus turns retrograde on May 13. As a result, you may be reconnecting to old flames, old connections, and taking a second look at what you value in your relationships. With Venus in Gemini, you’re having to go deep into yourself. Maybe you still need to heal from an old relationship. Maybe you need to open up more and make yourself vulnerable. Maybe sexuality and sexual connection is part of the story, too. These deeper emotional themes take greater precedence when the Sun arrives in Gemini on May 20 followed by a Gemini New Moon on May 22. You’re stepping into a season meant to bring you into the deepest parts of yourself to do your shadow and transformation work. (Right up your alley, Scorpio.) And with Venus in Gemini into June, much of this focus will be on relationships and how you connect and any issues around self worth and value. Like I said, relationships are in the midst of a five to six year overhaul. And you of all people know that change can’t happen unless you face what’s really in the way of change. Sagittarius

November 22–December 21

Sagittarius Glyph

Let’s look at the big picture, Sag. Ever since Jupiter arrived in Capricorn in December, you’ve been in a year long personal chapter where you’ve needed to step up in life, take on more responsibility, and prioritize your material life. It’s all about creating more security and stability as well as examining what you really value, including how you value yourself. You could say that you were already working on that over the past couple of years when Saturn was in Capricorn. And maybe you felt a palpable shift when Saturn left Capricorn for Aquarius on March 21, things not feeling as heavy anymore. That said, with Jupiter turning retrograde on May 14, it’s as if you’ve learned as much as you can about the importance of having a strong, stable material life and it’s time to pull back to integrate, rework, and reapproach. (Don’t forget, retrogrades are not inherently bad. They are a yin-like phase where it’s about reflection instead of action.) So, as you go into May, you’re at an important point in your personal story for 2020. Pay attention to what’s coming up for you around money and value and how that speaks to a larger story, especially with Jupiter still interacting with Pluto. Pay attention to any opportunities when you can have a breakthrough with old stories around value and worth. (And I do hope that every Sagittarius reading this has been largely spared the financial difficulties of this time.) While Taurus Season is already a month meant to turn your focus towards money and material stability, it’s also your sign of health and wellness. How do you take care of yourself during this time? How are you prioritizing diet and exercise? Keep in mind that health and wellness is an area that’s already been shaking up since 2018-2019 and May is a check-in with a process that will continue to unfold over the next few years, bringing in a radical shift in how you take care of yourself as well as your body. Just keep on making positive changes if that’s what you’ve been doing already. Or if you’ve been thinking of making a long overdue radical shift, this is your month. The point of this time is for you to not only evolve your relationship with health and wellness but liberate yourself from any past negative relationships with your body and being grounded in this physical reality. That said, a full moon on May 7 puts the spotlight on one of the quietest, spiritual parts of your chart. It’s a full moon meant to pull you deep within and highlight life’s more existential questions. Why am I here? What does this all mean? What am I connected to? As a Sag, you’re used to looking at life through a philosophical or existential lens. Let the full moon highlight what you’re not seeing, what’s in your spiritual blind spots, and help you to let go what’s no longer serving you, including old habits and addictions. Saturn is another planet turning retrograde this month, changing direction on May 11 and highlighting this new time of learning to take your voice as well as how you communicate and learn more seriously. How can you take more responsibility with how you communicate? Prioritize your education? Saturn will be giving you feedback. Then on May 11 Mercury arrives in Gemini, your relationship sign, and gives this part of your life a natural boost. The second half of this month is time to connect, socialize, partner, and interact. Obviously you’ll be living this through the lens of social distancing and other possible restrictions. But with Venus also in Gemini, relationships are a big focus right now and will continue to be into August. In fact, on May 13 Venus turns retrograde, which means that you’re going to be spending May and June revisiting old relationship patterns, old partnerships, old flames, and taking a second look at not only what you value in partnership but how you are valued by others. Mars also changes signs on May 13, arriving in Pisces, your sign of home and family. If Mars inspires or even demands action, then your home is going to need your attention. You may be putting your efforts towards changes in the home, like home improvement projects and purchases or reorganization. You may even be thinking about a move. When the Sun arrives in Gemini, your relationship sign, on May 20 followed by a Gemini New Moon on May 22, relationship becomes more of a focus. Usually this would be a time to get out, meet someone new, socialize, and focus on existing partnerships. Perhaps you can still do that or connect in ways that are appropriate for the times. Nevertheless, the coming months will give you a lot of opportunities to make this area of your life a priority as you get ready to step into another eclipse season. Get ready for a change, Sagittarius. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Book your one-on-one consultation now.

Key Themes: Money, income, spending, material stability, value, worth, self worth, material needs, resources, what you own, health, wellness, diet, fitness, nutrition, taking care of the body, valuing the body, habits, routine, addictions, attachments, work, projects, schedule, home, family, living situation, a move, changes in the home, home improvement, nostalgia, home projects, purchases for the home, relationships, other people, partnerships, social connection, interaction, old relationships, old partners, past relationships, letting go, surrender, spirituality, meditation.

Capricorn

December 22–January 19

Capricorn Glyph

It hasn’t been easy being a Capricorn lately. (It’s been a bumpy decade if we’re being honest.) But Saturn combined with the South Node of the Moon in Capricorn made for a really heavy 2019 as well as a heavy first few months of 2020. Perhaps you saw things start to get a little lighter in late March once Saturn left Capricorn for Aquarius. But this month the South Node of the Moon finally leaves Capricorn for Sagittarius, which means — if you know your astrology — that the eclipses are going to start to leave Capricorn as well as your relationship sign of Cancer. The twists and turns of fate will start to subside. But when Saturn turns retrograde on May 11 it’s a reminder that April, May, and June are merely a preview of the next big chapter of your life. Come July 1, Saturn will return to Capricorn until December. Does this mean that things will get difficult again? No, not necessarily. It’s more about needing to wrap up loose ends and finish out a story that began at the start of 2018, one where you needed to take a big step up in your growth and maturity. So, as Saturn turns retrograde, make note of the stories, the interactions you’re having, especially around money, income, and resources because it’s part of a bigger story that will unfold from 2021-2023. That said, May is Taurus Season for the most part, a time in your personal calendar when it’s about expressing who you are, making time for creativity and talent, pleasure and passion. Like you, Taurus is an earth sign and is a gentle reminder to make time for fun and play in the midst of all your Capricorn hard work. Yes, it’s time to recharge after the super heavy past couple of years you’ve had. A full moon on May 7 puts the spotlight on friends and community. Although social connection has been a bit challenged at the moment with social distancing, this is one of the natural times in your personal calendar when it’s about spending time with friends. Full moons have a tendency to create a sense of urgency and action, so you may be looking at friendship in a new light, reassessing the role or even the value of certain people in your life. If social connection has been historically difficult, how will you use this full moon as well as this unprecedented time to make necessary changes to bring new people and new communities in? There’s a sense of business to the second half of May, especially once Mars moves into Pisces on May 13. This may be a time of increased movement and travel, even if it’s just around town or within your neighborhood. Communication and messages, information and learning take on a sense of urgency as well. Perhaps you’re having more phone calls or video chats with friends and family, calls that touch on deep feelings and compassion. Additionally Venus turns retrograde on May 13, changing directions in Gemini, your sign of health, wellness, and work. There’s a deeper story unfolding this month about how you value and take care of your body as well as how you work and create more discipline in your life. Venus’s retrograde until the end of June is a second look, a time when you need to go back and get a new perspective or new ideas. A project or professional initiative you’ve been working on may need a different approach as well. And if Jupiter’s time in Capricorn this year has been inspiring you to take on a lot, its retrograde turn on May 14 is a reminder not to over do it. The start of Gemini Season on May 20 followed by a Gemini New Moon on May 22 puts more focus on health and wellness for the end of the month and into June. As the world starts to move and take the first steps out of the pandemic, you may be busy with work, needing to get out and walk, stretch your legs. It’s also a time to start working towards healthy goals and initiatives, sort of like a revisit of any New Year’s resolutions you may have had. Keep in mind that health and wellness are going to become a much bigger focus throughout the year as the eclipses start to line up with Gemini. So, as you step into June, not only think about what positive changes you want to make in this part of your life, but also what old habits and even old addictions you want to let go of. Aquarius

January 20–February 18

Aquarius Glyph

How’s life these days, Aquarius? Does it feel like you’re on the threshold of something new? A different phase or chapter of life? With Saturn’s dip into Aquarius on March 21, you are definitely in a new time, one that will push you to mature, take on new responsibilities, and define who you are. Plus, you’ve had Mars in Aquarius since the start of April, giving you drive and motivation to move forward into this new phase of life. (To give you some context, this is the start of a new 30 year chapter. If you’re old enough, think back to where you were in 1991-1993 to follow a common thread.) Here’s the thing. Saturn’s only going to be in Aquarius until July, giving you a preview of this new chapter. And its retrograde turn on May 11 is a milestone in a personal story that will unfold until March 2023. But this is a story that only just began. It’s not fully clear what it’s about. And so it’s worth noting or writing down what’s been happening since April, especially around Saturn’s retrograde turn on May 11. It’s part of a bigger story that will make more sense next year. That said, it’s Taurus Season, a time in your personal calendar when you’re focused on home and family as well as where you live and where you’re rooted. This part of your life may have been shaking up quite a bit the past couple of years. Maybe you’ve made a major move or are presently thinking about making one. Maybe home and family are starting to mean something very different then they did back in 2018. Taurus Season is a check in with this process of reinvention, transformation, and radical seismic shifts. And since we’re all likely spending more time at home of late, what changes are you realizing need to happen? Then on May 7 a full moon puts the spotlight on career and responsibility. Yes, there’s a lot of uncertainty in the world, but it’s important at this time to have a clear direction, taking necessary action as well as having a clear hand in steering your life in that direction. You may hear news about your work or see things in a new light. Mars, your career planet, leaves Aquarius for Pisces on May 13, turning your efforts towards creating more material stability and security into June. Money and income are a priority in the second half of the month as well as spending where necessary. You may need to let go of what you really don’t value anymore, especially with Jupiter turning retrograde on May 14, too. And you may need to see if your spiritual values are in line with your material values. By May 20 the Sun arrives in Gemini followed by a Gemini New Moon on May 22. It’s a new season, one that’s about creativity and talent, self expression and identity, fun and play. With Venus now retrograde in Gemini as of May 13, it’s important to approach this season with a new vision. If you’ve previously not made time or not valued play or creativity or diminished the value of what makes you unique, then Venus Retrograde into the end of June will be a time to take a second look at this. It may be also time to revisit an old romance. Don’t be surprised if an old lover resurfaces so you can tie up loose ends from the past. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you? Pisces

February 19–March 20

Pisces Glyph

In the wheel of the zodiac, there has to be a sign that speaks to spirituality and the search for deeper meaning and that sign is Pisces. True, not every Pisces is deeply spiritual, but it’s a deep part of your astrological DNA however you choose to express it. Astrology teaches us that there’s a time and a place for everything, that there is a season to rest and a season to take action. Lately it’s been a time of reflection for you. When Saturn entered Aquarius back in late March, your sign of spirituality and spiritual connection, you commenced a larger chapter in your life that will pull you inward to search for truth and meaning within. Over the next two years you may be looking at different spiritualities, faiths, or ways of looking at the universe all as a part of a deeper existential search. You may be pulling back from the world as well. That said, you could argue that this is the sort of thing that Pisces was made for, but you may also be wondering why you’ve been soul searching more of late. Two things to point out in regards to that. One, Mars has been in Aquarius since the start of April and will be there until May 13, when it enters Pisces. Maybe you’ve been more tired than usual, too. Two, Saturn is also in Aquarius. But it turns retrograde on May 11, marking a milestone in this larger existential search in life. Pay attention to the themes and stories that emerge around this time because they will play out into early 2023. Mind you, this more spiritual and existential time is merely a preview. Saturn will dip back out into Capricorn from July 1 to December 17, 2020. And Capricorn is where Jupiter, your ruling planet, is located right now. There’s a lot of pressure on you to transform, to open up to new futures and new possibilities while tearing down the old. The person you were at the end of 2019 is not the person you’re going to be at the end of 2020. (Another reason you’re having an existential crisis at the moment.) As Jupiter turns retrograde on May 14 in close proximity to Pluto, you may have to face yourself as part of a necessary process of transformation. New friendships and communities have been coming into your life of late. Something about work may come up, too. Again, all to facilitate this transformation. A full moon on May 7 puts the spotlight on faith, truth, beliefs, and meaning. You may have to make a decision about what you believe in or put your faith in. Education and travel are also highlighted as well, especially travel that takes you inward and into other realms. Mercury enters Gemini on May 11, your sign of home and family, and picks up on a story that will play out through May and June, a story around the role of home and family in your life. Venus Retrograde is a need for a new perspective, for a reevaluation, and a need to take care of something from the past. With Mars in Pisces, also on May 13, you have more drive and energy, but you may be more restless, argumentative, and confrontational — not something that Pisces is usually known for. And this may spill over into the home environment. Keep this in mind, especially once the Sun arrives in Gemini on May 20 followed by a Gemini New Moon on May 22. It’s a season to focus on the home and make changes in the home. It’s a season when it’s a natural time to move, remodel or redecorate, or welcome in new family members. But, again, with Venus Retrograde, in order to move forward, you have to deal with something from the past and make a new decision. Want a deeper look at how May will affect you?
