Welcome to the Libra Full Moon. We come to our first eclipse of the season, a lunar eclipse that puts the spotlight on relationships and connections, compromise and negotiation, beauty and aesthetic. It’s a powerful transition point for the year. The full moon lunar eclipse is exact on March 25, 2024 at 3:00 am EDT, 5 degrees Aries-Libra. That’s 12:00 am Los Angeles, 7:00 am London, 9:00 am Johannesburg, 12:30 pm New Delhi, 6:00 pm Sydney, and 8:00 pm Auckland.

If full moons are decision points, a lunar eclipse is a pivot, a powerful realization or revelation. They can confront and even coincide with major events. Eclipses as a whole open a portal, a period where time bends and speeds up. People come in and out of our lives.

This lunar eclipse is part of a series, a storyline that has been unfolding since the first eclipse in the series back on April 20, 2023, a solar eclipse in Aries. Whatever is happening is part of a bigger story, and one that will roughly conclude with an Aries solar eclipse on March 29, 2025. We just have to look back to the Libra solar eclipse of October 14 and the time around it for hints and clues to the exact story.

Aries and Libra are the relationship axis. If Aries is the I, the self, the individual, then Libra is the us, partnership, and the role of other people in our lives. They are two halves of a necessary whole. We can’t be so individualistic that we lose our ability to see life from the perspective of others. We can’t be so accommodating that we stop advocating for our wants, needs, and desires.

In the chart of the full moon eclipse we find a line running between Aries and Libra. For some, there may be a confrontation in a relationship or a decision to be made. For others there may be a spotlight on relationship patterns, a need to look at the past, and make a change.

With Venus, the ruler of Libra, over in Pisces, the energy of the eclipse pulls to a sign that’s about compassion and forgiveness, understanding and tolerance, unconditional love and healing. But it can also pull at deep emotions, especially anything rooted in the past, the unconscious, and even grief. Be present with your emotions, but let them move through you.

Saturn, also in Pisces, is alongside Venus. We have to make a commitment, get serious about our next steps, or do what is necessary and say “no”. Saturn is a very black and white influence. Either something is working or it is not. The eclipse may pull back the curtain on any illusions.

That said, take stock of your relationships in all their forms. This may be a status check, a pivot point that marks our year. Look to January 2024 and October 2023 for threads of a common story that may need attention.

Last week I did a 2.5 hour webinar on today’s eclipse as well as next month’s solar eclipse, a deep dive on why eclipses are so important to pay attention to, how they herald life milestones and achievements, and what they mean for your sign.
